Satyryczna, a nawet wręcz szokująca opowieść o strachu i niepokoju współczesnego mężczyzny, o utratę kontroli nad własnym losem. Wszystko to dzieje się, w świecie, w którym kobiety zrzeszone w tajemniczym kulcie, dążą do wyeliminowania samców.
Dave Cooper urodził się w 1967 roku w małej wiosce rybackiej w Nowej Szkocji, w Kanadzie.
W latach 90. XX w.
Dave Charles Cooper is a Canadian cartoonist, painter and animator. Cooper was born in Nova Scotia in 1967 and grew up in Ottawa, where he still lives. His oil paintings have been shown at galleries and museums in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Madrid. In animation, Cooper has developed the tv shows Pig Boat Banana Cricket for Nickelodeon, The Bagel and Becky Show for Teletoon/BBC and the short adult film the Absence of Teddy Table.
I keep hoping to read another classic like Ripple. Cooper's penmenship is as great as ever in this little stoner-style adventure story of a loser named Knuckle. It's fine stuff, but nothing that stands out.
I want to check out an artbook by him next. He's great at drawing, but the writing does require a bit more for me to get interested.
Maravilla de dibujo y de historia lisérgica. Mi primer pero no mi último Dave Cooper. Eso seguro. Comic con todas las de la ley. Como ya no se hacen. Underground y con un detalle acojonante.
Whoa! What a crazy read. Finally got my hands on another Dave Cooper book for the collection. This one was wild. Following Knuckle. A boy who finds himself uncovering the secrets of the new world. When his girlfriend breaks up with him and tells him she may be a lesbian, his best friend takes him to Hollywood to see the sluts and pornstars. Only he stumbles upon an insane secret that the women are hiding. A secret that will change the entire world and human race. I won't say exactly what that is, but it's weird. Such a bizarre story. And the art was so damn good. That's why I love Dave Cooper. He's so strange and his art is so beautiful. There's a ton of amazing details and stuff to dissect on every page. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend all of Dave's books. Including this one. A quick and trippy read!
As always with Dave Cooper, the cartooning here is excellent. Moreover, the setting and subject matter give him the opportunity to show off, with quirky futuristic cities, flying vehicles and bizarre creatures. The story is fun, weird and creepy, but it's slighter and less engrossing than Cooper's other comics that I've read – just a wild adventure, without the depth of something like “Dan & Larry”. There’s nothing wrong with that, though, and overall I still enjoyed this comic a lot.
