My life is, to put this delicately, a hot mess right now. I’ve lost my job and my home all in one summer. To top it all off, I have a chronic illness and no health insurance.

Did I mention that the world now thinks I’m dating one of the Internet’s hottest stars—all because someone snapped a photo of us at our friend’s wedding? Seriously, guys? One dance, and now we’re in love? HA! Isn’t that funny? Weston King, famous YouTuber, would never date me. In fact, when given the chance six years ago, he moved two thousand miles away.

Dating Wes is off the table, but…is marrying him? He might just be the only one who can help me get my life together, and after getting hit with some really bad press, he needs me just as much.

Marrying Wes just might be the answer to my prayers, but it also opens the door to a whole mess of problems—a door I’d rather keep tightly shut.

The whole thing would probably be a huge mistake and end in disaster.

Should I just go with it?

This book has: chronic illness rep, a sunshine hero, and dual povs

Tropes: marriage of convenience, forced proximity, second chance romance

This book is a sweet, tender second change romance. Lo and Weston became friends in college but Weston’s rise to YouTube fame left them in different cities. Years later, Weston is a famous YouTube star with a reputation of being a heartbreaker and Lo is an author who works as a nanny to help pay the bills. After being let go from her job, Lo is struggling to figure out how to pay for her medications and rent. Enter Weston, who suggests a fake marriage to solve both of their problems.

This would’ve been a 4 star read for me but the ending felt really abrupt! I would’ve liked to see a little bit more about Lo and Weston’s lives together after the conflict in the final act.

If the author rushed the ending a little but more she would make Usain Bolt sweat. The ending was so out of nowhere and with no true conclusions that for a few seconds I thought my ebook was missing a couple of chapters

"I need you to tell me you want this as much as I do. I'll come back for you if you want me to."

Just Go with It is totally adorable! Weston and Lo are precious. Their teasing banter was fun. Camilla and Rod are the best of friends! They're the four best friends that anyone could ever have. Madison Wright's debut novel is perfect for fans of Sariah Wilson!

Does anyone actually act like this? This felt like what a 13 year old might think adults act like. And you want me to root for a prank YouTuber as a love interest? Nope, you’ve lost me, there’s so many issues there I don’t even know where to begin.

Slightly corny romance, but if you like corny… Just go with it.

(See what I did there? If you cringed, it isn’t for you. If that made you giggle or you didn’t mind - then def go read this)

I think this book had many things I personally don't like in romances, which is no fault to the book or author. I don't care for the fame (especially internet fame) trope, which was a heavy element. And just because of personal reasons, I'm tired of reading romances with chronic illness rep where there is a marriage of convenience because someone needs better insurance.

As someone who also has a chronic illness, I adored the rep and the caretaking scenes. That was beautifully done and my favorite parts of the book 💗

We follow Lo and Weston who have been good friends since college. Lo had to drop out of college because her fibromyalgia diagnosis. She's going to turn 26 soon so no more health insurance, she gets fired from her nannying job and Camilla her best friend will move out with her husband so there's no way she can pay for her insurance and rent. Weston is an influencer that needs to better his image. They think they can both benefit from a fake marriage. Lo having health insurance and a place to live for one.

I initially picked this up because of the own voices chronic illness representation since the main character has fibromyalgia(just like the author) so let me start off by saying that this was so incredibly well done 👏🏻 the way it was woven into this story and the romance was so well done. The descriptions of chronic pain, fatigue, flare ups, the anxiety and fear surrounding it. The emotions of feeling like a burden etc. I tabbed and underlined so many parts that were relatable or where I felt seen and I even shed some tears sometimes. There was a conversation between Lo and her best friend Camilla about the fact that it's okay that you need people and you need help and that it doesn't make you any less of a person and not a burden 🥹👏🏻 ("It's not because you're not strong enough or independent enough, Lo. You're sick. You can't make yourself not sick. You're going to need people. And that's okay" 🥹👏🏻🩷)
and seeing how Wes treated her and loved her was so wonderful to see as well, knowing that all of us chronically ill and disabled people deserve a love like this !! Also speaking of Camilla, everyone deserves a best friend like her she's the best

Besides the fact that Lo was chronically ill like me, I saw myself in other ways in her too. Of course the fact that she's a big reader (she always carries a book around, wears bookish quotes on shirts, it's not just a hobby but a passion for her. Which can seem quirky and a bit much maybe but it's honestly exactly how I am 🤷🏼‍♀️😂) and she's a writer. Her favorite movies being Pride and Prejudice and La La Land, I mean taste. But also her personality, her constant fear of opening up and letting her walls down. Her constantly doubting everything and her not being able to make decisions. Okay Lo, I feel attacked. Because same girl same.

Not going to lie, I wasn't convinced by Weston at first. The influencer guy who's famous for pranking people? Hmm not interested and wasn't interested to read about it. But very quickly I realised how incredibly sweet and kind Weston was, like 🥹 I love him.

My favorite tropes in romances were in this book: friends to lovers, fake dating (marriage of convenience even) and second chance romance (which I only like if it's done well and it was definitely done well here)

The chemistry between the main characters was👏🏻🔥 very slow burn and lots and lots of pining but when they finally admitted their true feelings for eachother I was literally giggling and kicking my feet.

I was so happy and grateful to receive my first ARC for Madison Wright‘s debut novel Just Go With It!

When I tell you I loved this book it means I LOVED this book! I connected with all so much and loved all the characters. In this book the main character Lo has a chronic Illness in which the reader is able to learn and understand more about. I love all the cute scenes, fun banter and fast-paced chapters. Each chapter switches point of views so you get to connect with each main character. The story was so engaging and the plot kept me interested from start to end! Add this to your TBR now!

Madison Wright has an amazing ability to weave the story together with amazing scenes and characters. I’m so excited to see what else she has in store for the future! Pre-order now and get it on April 29th!

This romantic comedy was such a light, fun read! I can't believe this is just Madison Wright's first novel because it was written so well and the story was so engaging! The plot kept me interested from the very first page and I loved the playful chemistry between Lo and Wes. I can't wait to see what Madison has in store next!

So this is the first part of a series where each book is also a stand alone story. I read the second book a little bit ago and liked it so I decided to give the first one a try as well. Personally I like the authors writing, just like with the second book. BUT this one was a book I almost dnf‘ed because the main character Weston was a vine guy that actually pranked people and is there something worse than that? I don‘t think so. So all those references to vine, TikTok and all that gave me the ick big time. I‘m glad I finished the story though because I actually enjoyed Lo and Weston‘s love story. It‘s a friends-to-lover, fake-dating (fake-marriage) romance which I actually enjoyed. It also talks about issues with chronic diseases, health insurance in the us (which actually fucking sucks, glad I don‘t live there) and much more. I wish it talk about that more but than again it‘s a romance book. It‘s not the best romance book I ever read but it was a cute quick read even though I really HATED the references to vine and all that, like I mentioned before.

The prologue introduces Lo and Weston as they met on a surprise blind date in college 8 years ago orchestrated by their best friends, Camilla and Rodrigo.

Fast forward to present day, where Lo has fibromyalgia and is about to lose her heath insurance. Things get worse when she loses her job, making it impossibly for her to live on her own, especially when Camilla is getting married and moving out. Weston, meanwhile, has been a YouTuber in LA since college, but is moving back to Nashville. Lo hasn't told Camilla of the recent developments aside from losing her insurance, but she breaks down and tells Wes everything. With Camilla's prompting, they decide to get married to provide insurance for Lo and to help Wes redirect his career after some bad publicity.

Not only does this story a fake marriage, but it's also a second chance story. Wes and Lo kissed years ago, right before he was given the opportunity to move to LA. This development led them to deny their true feelings and move in different directions. Once they're reunited on such an intimate level, they have to face reality once and for all.

There were so many references and jokes related to books, as Lo is a newly published author and bookworm. I LOED the depiction of chronic illness and the support needed to manage taking care of yourself both on good days and during flares. While my chronic illness isn't fibromyalgia, like both Lo and the author, there are many commonalities, especially the feelings of being a burden on others. The love story, despite being frustrating seeing them both misconstrue each other's very real feelings, was touching to watch unfold. This felt so real.

This debut novel was so sweet and fun! I loved Lo and Weston and Camilla and Rod. The characters were fresh, real, and raw.

Lo suffers from fibromyalgia (as does the author) and I loved seeing a strong character who also needed to let down her walls and pride and depend on people. Weston has his own issues with being a YouTube influencer who is getting sick of what he does, which I think is very relevant to our culture today.

I loved everything about this book, except...I wish there had been an epilogue to see where they were a few months later! We need more Weston and Lo!!

I will definitely be following this author!

A sweet second chance romance. However, could have used more background from the past as I didn't really FEEL the chemistry. The message about being okay enough to ask for help is good.

I liked the chronic illness rep but I felt like this could have been utilized more.

I read the version with the epilogue so maybe I got more closure 😁

This was my first book by Madison Wright and it won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The marriage of convenience trope is one of my favorite and I always cheer when I see it in contemporary romance. Not to mention seeing the representation of someone with chronic pain was so relatable to me.

I LOVE THE COVER.

BLOG || INSTAGRAM

Smitten for a book that draws me in by the cover and this one had that, what it didn’t have was enough substance to call this book a romance.

The first 40% started off really strong, I’m a sucker for marriage of convenience tropes and this one had all of that critical things I’m looking for in that kind of plot. I wish it would have happened sooner so that there was more interaction between the main love interests. There were so many plot holes related to the entire story that I don’t know where I’d begin.

Wes was a gem. I loved him. A good love interest with an even better heart. I enjoyed every moment he was on the page and he carried a lot of this book for me. I wish Lo had been more…*something*. I loved the own rep for fibromyalgia and learning more about the day to day effects of this disease. What I didn’t love is how she handled everything related to Wes. At times it felt high schoolish and I especially think the drama at the end had me wanting to be done reading.

So a mixed bag, but not a bad debut. I’m curious about future books from this author.

Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: closed door
- Trigger/Content Warnings: fibromyalgia (own voices)

After reading Madison Wright’s newest book and adoring it , I immediately got started on her backlist. Dare I say I have found a new autobuy author?

THINGS I LOVED:
•The Chronic Illness Rep: Lo has fibromyalgia, which is also an illness that the author has (as mentioned in her acknowledgments of this book). I felt like this was such an honest look at what it is like to live with the chronic illness. My heart broke for Lo so many times as I felt like Wes and just wanted to take her pain away. I think Lo’s character really brought me a new understanding of the things people with chronic illnesses deal with in their everyday life.
•Camilla: Camilla was the perfect best friend. She was such a rock and huge support for Lo when she had flare ups and needed to be taken care of. But what I loved most about Camilla was how she wasn’t afraid to give Lo some cold hard truth when she needed it.
•Weston: While there was one instance where I got a little frustrated with Weston, overall I loved him. He was so charming and sweet and seeing him overwhelmed by his feelings for Lo made me smile.

I really enjoyed this one and can’t wait to catch up on this series.

This is a closed door romance with no language and mild innuendo.

This was so fluffy and cute . I catched myself smiling while reading it many times . At first it took me some time to get into it but after that I flew through the book . Lo was so sweet and relatable. Wes was funny and so supportive of Lo . Their relationship was so cute and I loved it . Camile ( Lo's best friend) was so kind and I loved how much she took care of her and always was there for her .
This did have the miscommunication trope but I didn't mind it much because I could understand their reason to be afraid. (Sorry if this doesn't make any sense I'm trying not to spoil anything)
I didn't like how this felt rushed towards the end .I was just left needing more

It was an okay book. Nothing special. Very simple story. I’m glad the author did not choose to make this longer. The tropes weren’t written well but if you’re looking for something quick to take your mind off of things, this would be a good pick for you.

THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!

*Screaming & Crying & Swooning*

Ok… Ok… I’m good. I’m fine.

This was exactly the book I needed right now. I’m not gonna lie, when I started the book I was in “I’ve got to get this ARC read so I can review it on time” mode. But, that quickly changed within the first 2 chapters maybe?
I was just sucked in and immediately didn’t care about anything else but this book. I mean, when the first chapter mentioned, Pride & Prejudice… I was pretty much sold.

The characters, the friendships, the history between our couple, the tropes, the chemistry… It was all just so perfect.
I can not believe this is a Debut! I just can’t!

Weston was so endearing and sweet! I also liked his spontaneity and his catchphrase, “Just Go With It!” It’s something I wish I could be more like!
(I guess, like Lo, I need my own Weston to push me out of my comfort zone… hmm?)
I loved being in his head just as much as Lo’s. Weston’s little gestures and his caring towards Lo absolutely melted me. I love that he immediately put her first from the very beginning. Regardless of their deal with each other. 😍

Camilla and Rod were such great side characters! I loved the four of them together and seeing that friendship. Camilla was just the best friend a girl like Lo could have and she reminded me of one of my best friends.

I loved the split up of the setting in Nashville and then in California. I felt completely immersed in each location. Now, all I want is to visit both places! Especially that Banana place so I can get a Balboa Bar… 🤤

Now, I’m going to talk about Lo.
She was such a strong and relatable character. From her graphic reading/P&P T-Shirts to her anxiety, I felt seen. I don’t personally struggle with fibromyalgia but I have a few friends that do. I felt the representation here was so authentic and genuine.
I suffer with extreme anxiety and depression, another kind of invisible sickness. I related to Lo’s inner battle of wanting independence but in reality having to be so dependent on those around her. Seeing that it was ok and didn’t make her someone who was weak was really touching to me. Seeing people like Weston, Camilla and Rod be there for her and care about her without a thought or judgement was so emotional and beautiful.
I just am so in awe of Madison Wright’s writing and how she portrayed everything.

I know I have rambled on a biiiiiiiiiiiit too long and if you read all of this, thank you! 😅

Anyway, all of you need to pick this book up on release day and ✨Just Go With It!✨
You won’t regret it!

If you want a fun rom com with fun, lovable characters, second chances, and butterflies, “just go with it” is the perfect book for you. Just add it to the top of your TBR right now. Go on. I’ll wait :)

Madison Wrights debut novel “just go with it” is beautifully written (seriously, HOW is this her first published novel!!??) its funny, yet has depth and addresses a disease that both the main character and the author share, fibromyalgia. I really enjoyed reading about this character who struggles between finding independence and learning to lean on people.

“She didn't want to make me choose. What she
doesn't know is that I'd choose her every time.”

Why is every character named Wes perfect?? Wes is dreamy, caring, romantic, goofy, and knows how to push lo’s buttons. Their chemistry and banter is so engaging, i seriously forget I’m reading. And when I’m not reading, I’m thinking about the book (so make sure you have time to sit down and read if you’re like me, you will want to read it in one sitting”

"Lo, I will always choose you."

If you need a book to binge on a 3-hour flight, I highly recommend Just Go With It. It was sweet & witty & instantly charming.

What to expect?
- A second chance and friends-to-lovers romance between college friends: Lo, a romance writer and Wes, a video content creator.
- Fake marriage of convenience so Lo, with chronic illness, can access his insurance and he gets a dose of good publicity.
- Excellent banter and chemistry. I am already a fan of Wright's witty dialogue. "Time of death: the exact second Weston King ran his finger across my lip."
- Best best friends you can ask for.
- SO. MUCH. TENSION. It's a delicious slow burn and closed-door romance.
- Dual points of view, thank you very much!
- Wes is hot & kind & considerate & loving & you'll most definitely fall in love with him. I just adored his care and compassion towards Lo, allowing her to be vulnerable and "feel her feelings."

The only downside for me is that the ending seemed abrupt. Like I NEED a bonus epilogue immediately 😆.

What are you waiting for? Just Go With It is on Kindle Unlimited right now!

Holy Moly. This. Book. I literally couldn’t put it down. Madison Wright!! I’m so obsessed. This story had everything. All the feels.

Best friends to lovers. Second chance romance. Fake marriage. And all executed beautifully.

Wes and Lo are so special. And together with their friends Camilla and Rod... all the heart eyes for this fun cast of characters.

Perhaps I can write a more eloquent review when I’m not holding back all the happy tears. Perhaps not. Everyone please preorder this book immediately.

Thanks Madison for the opportunity to read your ARC. I am officially a huge fan forever.

(And as a girl from Orange County, I feel like I need to go to Balboa ASAP for a Balboa Bar 😉.. my husband and I literally got them after getting engaged on the Peninsula!)
