For the beginning to read alone reader. Longer sentences, colorful pictures of the bounty hunters. Cad Bane is one of the bad bounty hunters that the bad guys fear. The book explains what a bounty hunter is and different definitions of weapons. Cad usually works alone, but in this story he hires a team, so it describes all the different bounty hunters he hires. In the end, the Jedi don't get overtaken and Cad escapes being caught. At the end of the book there is a Quiz about the story, so the reader can see if they comprehended the story.
This helped my 6-year-old learn the basics of Star Wars so he could bond with his friends who already know a ton about the movies. However, there’s a lot more violence in the book (i.e., pistols, rifle, captives, prisoners, non-lethal, armed, explosive, armor, kidnapping) than I’d bargained for. The characters also look creepy. I suppose the cover and the title should have been fair warning, but I haven’t ever seen books for this age group with this much violence. It was not a great bedtime story and I wouldn’t choose it for a classroom library, though I can see it’s value in getting kids interested in reading.
Do you want to be a Bounty Hunter when you grow up? "Bounty hunters track down wanted people for money. This money is called a bounty."
This book tells the story of Cad Bane "one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy." Though he normally works alone, for bigger jobs, he has help from other bounty hunters. In this book, we learn about several different bounty hunters, their skills and appearances, and why those are important.
This story is easy to follow, even if you are not familiar with The Clone Wars, which I am not. Since this is a Beginning to Read Alone book, I think this is a great introduction for kids into the Star Wars universe.
