this books has little new stuff.. as the mind mapping was tony buzan's idea. and half the book was wasted on it so it loses 2 stars for that taking his idea and wasting half a book. u could've played with the idea a bit
so, is feeling what the author wants u to feel or thinking what he wants u think.. will get me to where i want??
however.. im gonna try the BEAT for 28 days for the idea deserves a chance as i noticed how strong and negative my para conscious is..
I love this book, in fact this book helped me to get to the place I'm in today because it forced me to reassess what was important, what wasn't important and where I wanted to be in life. And it does just take 8 minutes a day to radically chance the way you think about everything.
It has a very simple approach and at the end of the book is a set of 'menus' you can use to help you deal with specific problems and issues you might be wanting to resolve.; they include things like 'dealing with difficult people' right through to 'increasing creativity'. Altogether there are 50 plans for success contained within the book, ensuring that no one is going to be left out.
I noticed that one of the reviews commented on the mind mapping of Tony Buzan so it's worth bearing in mind that Vanda founded the Buzan Centres Worldwide for Tony Buzan and is also the past president of the International Society for Accelerated Learning & Teaching.
The first half of the book is the best part. The month-long mind chi exercises are worth doing. Centering & other steps, then reviewing the mistakes of the past 24 hours (so you don't repeat those again!) followed by reviewing what went right (what a surprise! A lot went right!) is insightful. Then planning out the next 24 hours in detail is a great practice. Finally (of 8 steps), one solid minute of gratitude. As your mind wanders, thinking of all kinds of things, you just keep coming back to everything you're grateful for. Not a new idea, but transformative.
The book presented the ideas in an interesting way using mind maps technique. The first 20+ pages are a waste of time explaining what is the book all about with extensive use of referencing. I have read a lot of books on the same topic and found little new information in this one, nonetheless it is a good asset for beginners. The 28 days habit reforming exercise worth a try. Overall, a good read
