A Handcuffs and Lace TaleWhat do you do with a 'wife' who is more than you can handle? When the FBI and local law enforcement team up for a mutually beneficial crime-stopping partnership, Rookie Agent Chris Tarpington and Detective Vin Pilk team up to prototype the new alliance. How better to bust a ring of drug dealing suburban house wives than to go undercover-way undercover, as a married couple? Though Chris reluctantly gets in touch with his feminine side, he quickly finds ways of making his sexy partner squirm. And Vin is definitely squirming, but will he run away from his faux wife, or right into 'her' arms? One thing is for as the investigation heats up, 'inter-agency cooperation' will take on a whole new meaning...

She's Got Balls?
You bet!

description

What I got from the blurb was an FBI Agent and a local detective cooperating in an undercover mission as a married gay couple to bust a drug dealing ring.

But what we get here is actually two guys posing as a STRAIGHT couple with one of them disguising in drag as an actual housewife!

I swear this is the craziest gay erotica I have ever read (and sadly, it isn't much more than erotica).

FBI Agent Chris isn't happy with the prospect of posing as a married couple, but when he sees hunky broad shouldered muscle God detective Vin, his partner on the mission, it's clear that Chris would be the one wearing the skirt. So he's posing as a housewife whose steroid-abusing teenage years have left her with a manly stature with Vin being her hunky husband who doesn't mind a larger frame on his lady. I'd say they both got balls pulling this off, LOL.

In best 'Miss Congeniality' manner, Chris gets a drag makeover that turns him into a lady, getting him ready to infiltrate a community of weed growing suburban housewives (no kidding).

“She’s your depilatory and image specialist.” The sector head’s chuckling amusement had Chris squinting at the girl.
“My what?” Chris asked.
“She’s your wax and buffer, moron.” Vin gave the girl a broad wink. “Give him a Brazilian. It’s critical to the case.”

description

Proving their status as a married couple, Vin and Chris do not leave out the PDAs, and kissing handsome Vin does crazy things to Chris which ultimately pain his tucked up penis.

It doesn't take long before they take their pretended PDAs to the bedroom and prove their married status a bit more than their mission would require.

description

The story was more than simple and I think this book lives from the novelty factor of having a guy pose as a girl on an undercover mission, which is something I've never read before. And frankly, it was damn funny too!

“By the way,” Chris said as Vin followed him into the house. “The Master suite is mine. You’ve got the guest room.”
He glanced back. Vin scowled as though preparing to object. Chris held up a finger to stop him.
“It has a vanity table in the bathroom. When you have to put on makeup and set your wig, we can trade places. Until then, you can stretch your six foot huge on one of the twin beds across the hall.”

Still, I would have LOVED to see this more fleshed out with more drama and a much more serious take on their case. This story could have pulled off so much more. But it's definitely a funny and quick, entertaining read.

By the way, this is not in any way a take on transsexuality. It's just two guys, with one dressed up as a girl.

2,5 stars and I'm a saint giving two not zero star... why?

1)I'm not a fanatic, and I hate exaggeration, but when something bother me I must say it...

so..... knowing this:
Feminism refers to political, cultural, and economic movements seeking equal rights and participation in society for women and girls. (definition on wikipedia)

I just want to ask:
Why FBI and Police would collaborate using a men, as a drag queen? There aren't good womans on FBI?

I don't go out only in pink and scream that I must be respected as a woman , but in real live, this plot is not acceptable and probably is also offensive. If I can be totally honest is an absurd... the explanation is they need a "woman" on steroids so they took Chris and dress like a woman. That is another absurd... in all USA there is only thin and small FBI or Cop womans? Not even one with some muscles? I should accept that?
I want to hear the opinion of a great friend of mine, ex military and still today a kick ass lady... she, as a example, as a woman that conquer a respect position would kill her coworkers if they decided to take a man, not her, in an important military operation similar to this one of the book(Yeah, Ronda, I'm talking about you).

2)Vin annoyed me. One thing is tease Chris, another is being a bastard and knowing that Chris is attracted to him never say he was also gay. Sorry for the use of the "bastard", but I really hate Vin.

3)In the author's defense I can say this short story is well written, and the book is pleasant to read... obviously pleasant if you ignore the absurd of risk an important drug operation using a drag queen, not a real woman.

So what's with the guy cop dressing as a women and going undercover as another cops wife? I mean really, were there no women on this police force? *LOL*

Thankfully I don't read my books for realism but for escape and fun and this one delivered on both. Chris was a riot, he had me laughing out loud, he could never stop talking or thinking and Vin was that dark mysterious quiet guy the one where that saying "You've got to watch out for those quiet ones!" fits so perfectly. Vin was.....WOW! *LOL*

This is the kind of story that I like to read when I'm in need of a lift in between those books that drain me emotionally. It was light, funny and very very sexy! The only negative, way too short and felt a bit rushed in places but that didn't take away from the enjoyment I had reading it.

So close your eyes to the silliness of it and give it a try, hopefully it will give you a laugh too!

ETA Review for reading 01-19-12 to 1-20-12

Book ended at 88% sad face

um didn't like it this time as much. jokes still funny but noticed lot more editing mistakes and inconsistencies.

plus the relationship didn't work for me this time. they know each other two days. one of those days they don't see each other except before bed. then they have sex once and don't even sleep in same room and are supposed to be in love at the end of the book?

they never talk or get to know each other and we never get to know them either. 4 stars for being funny

Snarky and witty are two words that describe Chris. Tall, dark, handsome, quiet and HUGE are words to describe Vin. They are undercover as a married couple trying to bust a suburban housewife drug ring, and Chris hates being the woman (in drag) but Vin is just too big to pull it off. What makes this book so good for me was not the story-line but the interaction between the two, and the snarky comments from Chris. Even knowing that Vin could hurt him easily, Chris doesn't stop...the mouth just keeps on running and it's funny as hell.

^^NOT AS GOOD AS I EXPECTED!^^

So this was a short little read, I thought it would be better but it just felt rushed to me. It was like a whirl wind, just comes and knocks you off your feet and leaves you confused.

Chris Tarpington just got his first assignment to go undercover to bust some weed selling soccer moms. Down side he has to dress in drag, yeh its not going over too well with Chris and he has just become the laughing stock of his department. Bloody Hell!

His partner on the case Vin Pilk is built like a linebacker, so convincing him to go drag is a lost cause. So Chris is off in his dress to his new home with his new "husband".

Chris is attracted to Vin and its hard popping a boner in pantyhose that shit hurts, well it seems Vin might feel the same way and there goes the neighborhood.

I thought it was funny Chris has a very sharp witted mouth and he is sassy as hell. Vin is the strong silent type and knows how to throw down in the bedrrom. A solid 3.5.

Hot damn! The thought of some tough hotshot going drag turns my crank. I shouldn't be saying that out loud :laughs:

This book although short had me in stitches with Chris's smart mouth remarks and blunt throw backs. Vin kept me hot under the color with his silent type, hot Italian looks. Oooh baby!

Very good story!

A little on the short side for my tastes BUT I thought this book was hilarious. Not a deep thinker, this one but the subject matter is a little too serious to be considered fluff. An enjoyable read.

Haha I like this book!
Ini buku m/m bertema humor ke 3 yg kutemukan setelah One of Those Day (Zathyn Priest) & Drawn Together (ZA Maxfield).

Berkisah tentang two law enforcements (Vin & Chris) yg ditugaskan sebagai pasangan suami istri.

Kind of spoilery-ish in that I mention stuff that isn't in the book:

This was kind of dumb, way way too short, incredibly improbable, instalove (2 days!), no danger, no mayhem, ridiculously convenient reason for the setup of the scenario, etc. But it was still enjoyable and funny at times, and even in a couple of the moments when the two interacted, my heart twinkled just a tad.

Happy ending?

Chris and Vin are cops sent undercover to break up a neighborhood drug ring. Much to Chris' dismay they're going in as a married couple and he'll be the wife. This was a fun and entertaining story. I liked both of the guys and the sexual chemistry between them was hot. They quickly catch the baddies and each other in the process. Nicely written although too short.

Not bad for a short...and even though I felt a little uncomfortable with the set-up & execution of the casework* it was an entertaining read. I'm putting the next one on the TBR shelf at any rate.

(*Being CIS, it's sometimes it's hard for me to tell when a story is insensitive to the Trans population. With this particular book I figured the non-sex part of the plot read more along the lines of Tango & Cash, a buddy cop silly movie - one that had plenty of issues, but Kurt Russell in drag was probably the most enjoyable aspect.)

It wasn't bad but it didn't give me what I wanted. The storyline was way too short and not super exciting. The romance wasn't strongly written either. The only good scene was the scene with the cuffs and that was just short. Probably the whole thing was just too short and that's why I'm disappointed.

A cop and a rookie agent are sent undercover to live together as husband and wife in suburbia to catch the drug ring operation. The book was too short and I felt Chris and Vin falling in love was too rushed. But it was an entertaining read and the sex was hot.

In this novella the author plays a bit with the Desperate Housewives jokes and the stereotypes of big and strong FBI agent.

Chris and Vin are paired together for an undercover mission, one of them will be the “wife” and infiltrate in a tight group of housewives who are growing pot in the suburbs. Why it has to be a man to play the role of a woman when there are so many good female FBI agents, it’s something that is not exactly clear, and it’s probably the only fault of this very nice novella. Actually all the “official” side of the story, the undercover mission and the job to be done, is quite on second stage, like it’s not really important.

From the beginning the story starts on the funny step, when Chris would like to assign the role of the wife to his new partner Vin, at least till the moment he has the chance to see him, big shoulders, adam’s apple, permanent five o’clock beard and unbelievable small hips… no way he can be passed for a woman. No that Chris has any problem to admit that he is attracted to Vin, Chris is gay, but he is not exactly the man who enjoys to be on drag. And having to wear a strap on while sporting a perennial hard on due to Vin’s nearness, it’s not something comfortable to do.

Chris is like a little firecracker, always spurting and chatting, always having something to say to try to irritate Vin, even really sounding like a desperate housewife, but without success: Vin is an unmovable wall and each spitting word by Chris jumps back without any effect. But when Chris decides to try the gentle approach, Vin is more responsive and Chris obtains some results to alleviate the pain in his… stomach… or maybe a little lower.

She’s Got Balls is basically a funny romp, not really a dangerous thriller plot, for once the criminal ring is not so criminal after all, and it doesn’t seem that Chris and Vin take too seriously their mission, at least not as much as they are investing in their possible relationship.

She's Got Balls by Mia Watts. Resplendence Publishing, LLC (2009).

This was quite a fun and short read, with a little bumps in the road.

Chris and Vin are cops going undercover for a case. They'll have to crack a group that's growing and selling drugs on suburbs.
They would have to pose as a couple, and Chris as the woman, a real woman.

Why did Chris *needed* to drag, is still a mystery for me. And *why* couldn't they be a gay couple, if they were there with indication?

Vin was an ass not telling anything about his sexual preferences, and knowing that Chris had *feelings-hots* for him.

Since I'm not much a believer in love at first sight, the end was kind of turn-off to me. So he was *quiet, and a pain in the ass*, all the time, because he was madly-deeply-in-love with Chris? And all that happened in what? 4 days? Not buying.

I liked Chris because he was fun and kind of crazy, he certainly knew it how to get on Vin's nerves. I almost cried laughing with the scene he made in front of the house.
And that -Chris- it's what have saved this book for me (and Mia's writes, as well).

The whole discovering-the-bad-guys-case, it was very easy. For those who like me, likes some more difficulty in books with cops, that's not really the book for you.

In conclusion, I liked this book. The plot isn't that strong, but is worth.

4 1/2 stars - I first heard of She’s Got Balls a few months ago and couldn’t stop laughing at the title. When I decided to do M/M month, this book was at the top of my “buy” list. I haven’t read anything by Mia Watts before She’s Got Balls, but I will certainly be reading much more by this author:

Chris Tarpington is a rookie cop on his first undercover operation; problem is, he’s got to act like the female half of a married couple. He decides he’s going to make the other cop play the role of the wife, until he meets him – Dective Vincent Pilk is super-tall, super-buff, and super-gorgeous.

Chris is gay but not out to the Force, so when they’re on assignment and Pilk kisses him as part of the role they’re playing…it takes his breath away. Of course, it’s a bit uncomfortable when you’re aroused and your “junk” is stuffed into a pair ofpantyhose! He doesn’t want Pilk to know he has feelings for him, until one evening when they have to practice being “natural” in front of their targets….

I don’t usually read short stories, and She’s Got Balls is a perfect example of why – I wanted more!!! She’s Got Balls was funny and sexy and I enjoyed every minute of it. Chris was so funny and chatty and completely head-over-heels for Pilk, and Pilk was silent and broody and sexy as hell. This was one book I did not want to put down!

Looking for a quick-paced, full of snarky banter, chuckle out loud, sexy, quick read? This is it. I started it thinking, "here we go again with another undercover cop story." But that changed almost immediately (on page 1 I think) when Chris came storming on scene with his big cocky mouth, all in an uproar about his new undercover assignment. Then we meet Vin, all broody, bad and silent and just a little too big to pass undercover for a woman. So, Chris gets the job. What ensues is a fast moving, fast mouthed, very sexy, quickly engaging story. When these guys were on the same page, they were smoking hot. When they weren't, they were hilarious. There were numerous typos and missed words, but, honestly, the story reads so fast, you hardly notice. Overall, I really enjoyed this story.

I love Mia Watts. Chris and Vin are both alpha males forced to go undercover to solve a case involving a suburban drug ring. The only way to infiltrate? They have to pose as a married couple with one of them going drag. The problem is, Chris refuses to be THAT guy but when he goes to his newly given partner, he realizes he is the only one who can possibly pass for a woman. Vin is, in Chris' words, the Jolly Green Giant. The characters are great, Chris' freakouts were hilarious and the sex was hot. Especially given that Vin is always quiet and presumed straight.

My only problem with Ms. Watt's stories... THEY'RE ALWAYS SHORT!! *sigh*

This book had the 3 Ss: Sexily sarcastic, Sweet, and Sensual (maybe 4 Ss?)

Quick, easy read. I wasn't expecting much, based on what little reviews there are, so this story would have to be pretty bad for me not to like it. Which is not to say it isn't worth the 4 stars because I liked it enough.

Vin, the stoic detective finds himself unable to resist Chris, the rookie agent and while I thought the reason they had to pick two men for this sting was laughably weak, I went into this determined to be generous [pats myself on back]. My magnanimity paid off and I had a fun time with Vin and Chris, stupid, almost non-existent action bit thrown - they are carrying out a sting, after all.

This book is really funny, with a manly-snarky kind of sense of humor that had me in stitches in places. Chris's observations, his insistence on NOT being the one going into the undercover assignment as 'the wife' - only to find out he has no choice - were hilarious. His need to connect and talk to Vincent, who has the part of being the 'strong silent type' down to an art form, is presented perfectly.

While the plot is very simple, there is more than enough fun to be had from watching the characters battle it out. If you're looking for light entetainment with a lot of snark that will make you laugh, give this one a try.

Synopsis: The police and the FBI team up to stop a drug dealing ring, and they team up as a married couple. Chris dresses up as the woman, and he does his best to make his police detective partner Vin notice him...as a man and as a woman. Vin does notice Chris, and is hard pressed not to behave unprofessionally toward him.

What I liked: the premise.

What I didn't like: I wasn't really fond of the characters and the story. I felt that this is a story that may have benefited from actually being longer.

The plot is utterly contrived and unrealistic. It's also probably an affront to women, because, really, with all of the FBI and police department to choose from, they couldn't find a single woman more suited to go undercover AS A WOMAN than a man in drag? Not to mention the inability of the author to let a drug ring of suburban wives go without a man to lead and think for them. Grr. Why? But if I look past that, I found it an amusing read. Though I thought it would have been stronger without the rushed declarations of love.
