J. Thompson is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Paranormal and Sci-Fi romance and a major fan of procrastination. Jenn has always loved history, so using her wild imagination and tying in her love of history and fantasy, she began a new adventure into the world of words. Weaving romance into old worlds and giving life to her mythical inspired novels is what Jenn does best, and she has a lot more planned in the future, including some hard assed demons. When she isn't bent over her laptop with the crazy writer eyes, you will find Jenn making jewellery, cross stitching and it doing paper crafts. Jenn is also an avid lover old skool skills like archery and sword fighting. Maybe a touch nuts Jenn is an author who believes wholeheartedly that people are good and that everyone deserves romance - even Hades.
Outstanding! This book blew me away so it will be awhile before I recover. The first book in the Trinity series is a must-read for paranormal readers. I couldn't put it down, so plan on not getting anything done till you finish this.
Ebony is awesome, and I loved her from the start. She is a strong protagonist as is Scarlett and Ivory. These princesses are gifted and of royal blood. Nathan is the Captain of the Elite Guard and has sworn to protect the princesses with his life.
I don't want to give anything away so you'll just have to read this book for yourself. I can say, however, that you won't be disappointed. The author does a perfect job of setting this up for book two, which I can't wait for.

So yes I need to say I was given (I begged with no shame) an advanced copy of ‘Ebony : Book One In The Trinity Series’. All I have to do is give an honest review. “Yes.” I said. How hard can that be!
Well it’s hard, first I hate spoilers. But I want to throw spoilers in. Second I hate a chapter by chapter review. But I want to go chapter by chapter. Lord reviews are hard.
So this is my review.
As a book it was too short as I wanted it to NOT END. The story was fast and moved forward yet didn’t leave you feeling lost. We were given Ebony’s back story with enough information without being hit over the head with it at every turn. I loved Ebony’s inner feelings as she understood how quick and life changing everything happening to her, around her was. Her sisters had their parts to play and opened us up as readers to the whole world around Ebony, which I loved, but didn’t take away from the innocent (hot and steamy) love between Ebony and ??? (No spoilers remember) Was there a ‘happy ever after’? I will say there was an end, you could (I can’t) read this book as a stand alone (I will be reading the whole series). But even though one side of this trinity got an ending, you are teased with the next stage in this series.
On a side note. I screamed at the “To be continued...” Screamed like a spoiled brat as I didn’t want it to end there. I want more, I need more, I will have to pray to the book gods for the second one to come along AND FAST!?!
J. Thompson spins some powerful magic when she throws her heart and soul into a new paranormal romance and in return my soul answers.
Years ago I gave up my love of the paranormal and gained a love for romance but the mix never truly spoke to me.. Well not until I fell over this lovely author. Her tales intrigue me and they are really hard to put down.
I absolutely loved this book. I love the writing, the characters, the fragmentation in form of a plot written with multiple perspectives. It was brilliant and I couldn’t help reading it in one day.
The only thing I wish is that the book was a little longer and that we go to see Ebony and Nathanial together some more.
Ebony’s life has always been difficult. Bounced around from one foster family to another, health issues and never enough money or food. Now to survive she is working in a bar, trying to make enough for her meds and secretly sleeping in the breakroom. One evening, two beautiful women walk in the bar, and they must be in the wrong spot to be in this dive but regardless, here they are. The boss acts like they walk on water. What is so special with these two women and why does it seem that they have taken an interest in Ebony?
I have some criteria for starting a new author and book series; one the synopsis of the book needs to sound interesting, two the cover needs to catch my eye and finally, the first chapter needs to instantly grab my attention or I usually with struggle with the entire book. This book did not disappoint. I was hooked for the very beginning. The story was original and had some unique twists along the way. Just a little passion to keep you wanting more and the promise of the next book to keep you thinking. My only negative would be that the book was a little short. I would have liked a little more to the story.
I enjoyed reading this book for several reasons. First, it is a slight twist on the standard vampire/ witch trope that gets old sometimes. Second, it's action-packed making it very easy and quick to read. However, that second reason is also something negative about the book that I will discuss later.
Thompson does an outstanding job of creating a seamless flow between past events that lead up to this story and the present time of the story. Though the beginning is tragic and sad, it sets the book up for a world with paranormal creatures, namely vampires, that aren't like the ones I'm used to. That was pretty cool. This story follows three sisters who have a whole group of nasties who want them out of the way. The romance is steamy without being too over the top IMO and on a personal level, I like Ebony and ????? (can't tell you because then I'd spoil it.)
I did find myself wanting to know who these characters were. I liked them so much I wanted more. I also think the story happened too fast. It was just a few days and the richness of the story deserved more development. That being said, it didn't take away from my joy in reading this book.
Ebony has spent her life going from home to home due to her illnesses. She has always felt like an outsider everywhere she went. Ebony is working as a bartender trying to make enough money to survive. Ebony meets two woman that intrigue her that put her on edge. Then there is a man that shows up to take them home. Ebony is attacked while at work, the man from earlier saves her. Ebony learns about her illness and what she really is from the strangers. They are her sisters that she never knew about. She also meets the man that saved her. She is instantly drawn to him. Things will not stay calm for long. As their lives are in danger from the man they call father
This was interesting story with a twist. This book follows Ebony and her introduction to the world she didn't know existed. You will be introduced to a mix of characters. The only things that bothers me is how quickly they find their mates. Some parts of the story seem just a little rushed. I do look forward to the next book, to see where it leads.

This is my favourite book by far by this author . It absolutely blew me away. Once again the author has created a very distinct world one where you just want to get lost in. A world packed full of witches, warlocks and night walkers, a paranormal delight. Centred around 3 sisters and their protectors/soulmates, Ebony sets the scene of what is going to be a cracking series. The back story gives you an insight of what went down and the rest of the story is well written and fast paced. I loved the characters, each sister brings a different dimension and their mates are perfect for them. The story brought out a few different emotions in me and oh my that ending........ what an ending it was... it had me shouting at my kindle..... I really didn’t want it to end.. waiting (lm)patiently for the next boom. A must for paranormal readers.
I really enjoyed this book. Overall this is very much a young adult book. Really enjoyed the characters and writing. This is a very fast paced story. From the very first page until the last there is barely time to breath. Much less time to put the book down. It does end with a rather big cliffhanger, although does NOT HAVE to be continued. The base story for this book ended. There is very obviously another book coming and I very much hope it is soon. Ebony has had one crappy life from day one. Crapped on by one foster home after another, then even after becoming an adult she is barely able to buy her much needed meds, much less food to feed herself. Then one day everything changes. I do think some things fell a little too easily into the "believed" list of things in her life, yet it is believable.
Let me get this off my chest really quick - THAT ENDING AAAAHHHH! - okay, J Thompson has done it again, she's created an fantastic world, this one with nightwalkers, warlocks, weres, fae, and more!
Ebony was a very intriguing character. She was both strong and delicate. Nathan he makes me all warm and gooey. I couldn't get enough of him and his domineering yet gentle way of being.
Ivory is definitely my favorite of the sisters, she's a bit ditsy but honest and to the point. Scalett, still holds a bit of mystery, she's so much more than meets the eye, they all are, but there's something more about Scarlett.
This story read quickly and had me hooked. I didn't want it to end.
Ebony is the first book I have read of J. Thompson and I enjoyed the way she writes. Throughout the book you are on edge waiting for what happens next. The story mostly flows well and the way it is written keeps you wanting more. By the end of the book I was attached to the sisters and wanted to see them succeed.
I did struggle with some minor inconsistencies that made it difficult for me to really immerse myself in Nathan and Ebony’s whirlwind relationship. I think if the mating bond hadn’t been there for them I would have enjoyed the book more. That being said I do want to see more of Bishop and Justin. I can only imagine the possible heartache awaiting the sisters.
The first book in what looks to me to be an epic adventure. I am looking forward to book 2.
This is a great read. Following the youngest of the triplets of prophecy, there's so many interesting characters. The twists and turns dig the claws into you and don't let go.
My favorite line in the whole book comes from a secondary character I hope we see more of in the future, Gale (an imp that Ivory befriended who gave them the tip on locating Ebony). "It's a lot of fun to watch them twitch." For an immortal magical being, he's rather obsessed with his taser.
The big fight scene was remarkable. It also set us up for book two, as did the epilogue. My heart is aching for the two sisters who will star in the other books. (And for the fact that book two is a year away.)
Ebony was thought to be dead. She was one of a set of triplets born to the Queen of Nightwalkers and their father was the most powerful warlock. Miraculously she lived and was brought up in the foster system of humans but found by her sisters Scarlett and Ivory when they were grown. Nathan was the Captain of the Guard of the Nightwalkers in charge of the princesses. Nathan and Ebony discovered they were mates and then Ebony and her sisters went on a impulsive rescue mission that led to danger, death, MIA’s, heartbreak, knowledge and a deeper understanding of each other. Fun read.

PNR isn't my normal type of read. I actually actively avoid reading them. Except from this one author, hers I can manage to read. I honestly don't know why I just only like them from this author!
Ebony was an amazing read, it kept me intrigued and captivated the entire time I was reading it. I couldn't put It down!
I cannot wait for more of the sisters story, I need to know what happens next! It was absolutely amazing! I feel like Oliver demanding more!!
I loved this book!!!! It is PNR (which is not my usual choice (however this is rapidly changing)) like J Thompson's previous books but this seemed to pack more punch.... The Sisters have the sarcasm and whit as previous book characters but they seemed *real* (disregarding this is make belief) as did the story!!! The banter between the sisters and other characters was a breath of fresh air!!! As another review stated I am (Im)patiently waiting for book 2!!!!
I really enjoyed this book and the only things that spoilt it were the glaring grammatical errors and editorial mistakes. Ebony was not 'stood' on the pavement, she was 'standing'. Scarlett wasn't 'sat' on the bar stool, she was 'sitting' on it. Misspelled words should have been picked up.
A bond that cannot be shaken or broken. Strong and intelligent women who are more than your average princess. I had so much excitement built during the sisters discovering more of their abilities. There's just enough action to keep you on the edge and make you want to keep turning the page. I am so excited for book 2!
This could have been an excellent book. Unfortunately, it doesn't exceed mediocre. The bones of the story are good but the development is poor. Our heroines lose their intelligence as their story evolves and that is just a huge disappointment.
Kick butt Princesses, hot guards, and one evil warlock what more could you want? It's a page turner, I read it one sitting. The storyline was gripping, the characters are very relatable, and it's fun. I am seriously looking forward to the next book.
There wasn't a single genuine reaction from Ebony, nor was there any real character development. The world building was laughable and the entire thing was as bland as white bread. It wasn't worth the time spent reading it.
Just finished reading the book. Wonderful story line and different. Each of us is unique That makes us special. Add a lot of love . We can go far. Can't wait for book two of the series
An intense and fast paced book with wonderful world building. I really liked the characters. I would recommend for mature readers, due to romantic scenes.

An intriguing introduction to three hybrid princesses whose power the world is not ready for. Fast paced and wickedly addictive, this fantasy novel sets the tone for a grand adventure to come.
I have always been a fan of J Thompson and just when I thought I couldn't possibly love an author more, well let's just say that I'm happy to be proved wrong! The growth of this author is just astonishing and is displayed fantastically in this book. I can not give this book the recognition and justice that it truly deserves. Vampires, warlocks, action, romance; well who could ask for anything more?!
The sisters have united, powers are revealed, love of family. I truly enjoyed reading this start of a new series. I look forward to reading more about ivory and Scarlett.
