TRUE Kiesha Morgan is a plus-sized, bi-racial business woman who lives life on her own terms. Her life is all about control... her control. She owns her own business, her own condo, and conducts her relationships the same way she runs her business--by her rules. Any man that doesn't like it is welcome to leave.
Alex Wolfe is the town of Refuge's only veterinarian. He's also a shape-shifter, and the Alpha of the Raven Pack. He's been waiting for the woman who can complete him, his one True Mate. Even though the odds of finding her are slim, he refuses to settle for second best. Once he finds her, he'll never let her go.
Their worlds collide when Kiesha is snatched out of her nice, safe world and mysteriously teleported to a clearing in the woods outside of Refuge. She's out of her element and things are out of her control.
Life just got a little bit more interesting...
NIKOLAI'S A blue moon's coming, and for shape-shifter Shannon McFelan, it's bringing nothing but trouble. Something she's got enough of already. Her body has mysteriously turned on her, going into Heat at the worst possible time. It will take all the cunning in her possession to survive this lunar cycle without finding herself mated.
Vampire Nikolai Taranosky has waited centuries for his Chosen. He doesn't care that Shannon's a werewolf, and he knows exactly what's wrong with her. It's because of him that she's in Heat. By the waning of the blue moon she'll definitely be mated...to him!

This book includes True Mates and Nikolai's Wolf. I absolutely loved both stories!
True Mates (5 stars) This is the story of Kiesha Morgan and Alex Wolfe. Kiesha is kidnapped and hung on a tree naked by a friend who believed in werewolves. She wakes up and is suddenly surrounded by a pack of wolves. One of them shifts into a man (Alex - the alpha) and claims she is his true mate. He has been awaiting the arrival of his true mate for twenty years and now that he has found her, he is determined to keep her.
I love the story of Alex and Kiesha!
Nikolai's Wolf (5 stars) This is the story of Shannon McFelan (an alpha werewolf) and Nikolai Taranosky (a vampire). Nikolai finds Shannon wounded on the property of the raven pack and takes her to the alpha (alex who was the male lead in "True Mates"). Alex is a doctor and veterinarian and fixes Shannon's wounds. A romance between a werewolf and vampire is forbidden but neither Shannon or Nikolai can deny the attraction blazing between them. Shannon loves Nikolai but fears being with him because of the animosity between vampires and werewolves and also because her wolf does not like Nikolai. She finally comes up with a possible solution to the problem with advice from her brother (the alpha of the sparrowhawks). She needs to fight with Nikolai for him to become the mate of not only her human half but her wolf half. Will he win the heart of his beloved wolf? Read to find out.
I love the story between Shannon and Nikolai! They are a wonderful pair who have a lot of obstacles between them!
I read this book after reading books 2-4 of the series. I really liked it and it kept nicely in theme with the other books but I wish it was slightly longer. I felt it ended too abruptly.
To be truthful I could not finish this book; I couldn't even get to the middle of it. The beginning started out with the heroine tied up in the middle of the woods by her friend and the gentleman who is the hero basically scares her enough to faint by shifting from a wolf to a person, then is all oh she's my mate let me essentially f**k her while she is sleeping. So the book fundamentally begins with a rape that just slides right on by since the heroine ends with an orgasm, fun fact just because you make the woman get off doesn't mean its still not rape especially if she is still tied up the entire time and semi-conscious. I just couldn't finish do it, I just could not read further into this book.
The first book in the True Mates series suffers from a lack of edition and proof reading. The story is interesting, but the author spends too much time on the erotic angle and not enough on the heart of the story. Keisha is getting older and has not found any one to marry. She is totally and thoroughly independent. She knows there are shape shifters, because she has been told about them by her friend Conor. One night she awakens in a forest hanging from a tree. Suddenly wolves appear and Keisha's life is never the same. WARNING: Adult reading only, due to explicit sex scenes.
