Never Hide Again

Rate this book
For the last five years, I've been living as Olivia Tucker. With a cautious eye over my shoulder, I've been hiding in Seattle, staying anonymous, keeping a low-profile at a small interior design company.
Until Grant Brexton.
Billionaire, CEO of Hall and Brexton, he's known as Seattle's Best Playboy, the man who keeps Seattle under his heel.
As his new personal assistant, our attraction should be forbidden.
But Grant isn't merely a man who sets my heart on fire.
He teaches me to be as strong as he is.
To live ruthlessly and without apologizing.
Most of all, Grant teaches me how to stop living in the shadows of fear.
Our love is unstoppable. Our bond is unbreakable.
Or so I think.
Lonnie, the man who murdered my husband, proves he's still looking for me.
And just like five years before, he could rip everything away.
Grant included.
It will be up to me to walk in the power I've become familiar with and maintain control over my life.

Omg this was not good. The writing was poor at best, absolutely awful at middle. In general I was somewhat intrigued in the beginning but by the middle I was annoyed and fighting to get through the book. I thought the entire plot was very Wattpad and the entire thing hinged on them both having “trauma” and that’s it. The shit the man did in the end was so ducking unhinged and like I would never forgive him.

“I’ve run right into a wall. Why don’t I look where I’m going? Mom always did say I had my head in the clouds. Exactly what I get for not looking. But I freeze when it’s not a wall. Warmth, a low grunt, and black, smooth fabric tell me it’s a man.
A well-built one at that—and he’s not moving an inch. My nose is nearly pressing into his lower chest, and the scents of lemon and leather are descending from ever”

Tell me you’ve never seen this in a Wattpad book, if you said you never have you’re lying. Second quote I’d like to analyze,

“Ha.” He tilts his head back, rubbing the nape of his neck. “Don’t gaslight me.”
“Gaslight?” My brows wrinkle at his accusation. “I believe you have to be a narcissist to do that.”

Why like this is TikTok person materialized.

Anyway I feel like this book was meant for a very specific (cough booktok) market and therefore was chockful of tiktok loved trope such as billionaire, weird mmc who does shit that would be weird if he wasn’t hot, trauma pasts, etc. etc.

Wow this book left me breathless. A woman with a horrible past and a playboy businessman , their meeting is kismet. Their unconventional relationship is a fire storm of desire, desperation and loyalty. Thank you for a wild ride.

GOD, this was boring. And I cringed so many times my face in now etched in a semi-permanent grimace. What else to say? The plot intrigued me i guess (it didn’t, and anyways was a miss), the main character had a GREAT personality (none), the hero was just so incredibly lovable (should’ve written a guide titled: ‘how to be a flatline love interest) and I was just so entertained (I actually caught myself dozing off with this one).

Goodbye, not for me.

I have to say that this author did a fantastic job hijacking all my attention with Never Hide Again as the suspense aspect seriously kept me captivated, but the sexy/romantic aspect was top notch as well. See, Olivia is living under the radar because of the terror of her past, and she hasn't let herself have anything close to a relationship since she can't take the chance at being found. However, she didn't count on Grant wanting her so much that he made sure that she was transferred to working for him. It made for some serious push & pull because Grant was determined to make her his while she was scared to take the chance despite the sparks flying like crazy. He wore her down & they embarked on a new journey, and it was then that she learned that Grant had his own set of demons in his past. Of course we are fed tiny morels of her past as we go along which had me dying in frustration since I wanted to know the whole story right away, and it was for that reason that I was on the edge of my seat after the first page until the last but the twists coming in from other directions certainly kept me glued to that edge as well. I LOVED this story so much, and CANNOT WAIT for Roxie's story next so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What can be said about Grant and Olivia?

This story will keep you on the edge of your seat while oohing and aahing over the building of this strong relationship. The dynamic between these two is incredible.

Grant is absolutely an alpha who will lay the world at his woman's feet. And Olivia, while coming from a troubled past that has her hiding, garners strength from her new beau, which adds to her resilience.

This book is incredible and my favorite by Garnet so far!

Look.

I love the story and I love the MMC - it's a very he's really intense. But, I gotta say that this is another case of "please use an editor". For me as a reader, it's really distracting, and when it gets to "annoying" I give up (DNF 39%). It might be petty grammar nazism or just general malapropism or just using too many words when fewer will do. It's odd how some parts are really cohesive and some are just not. I'm not going to hate if you have multiple people writing this, or even if english isn't your first language (some word usage in parts comes across a bit 'google translate'), I'm more frustrated that these things are distracting me from a pretty good story. Regardless of what the case actually is, I need my sweet lil indie authors to belly up and at least get an editor to fix... all of that. Please, bc I'd really like to read your story without frustration.

Grant and Olivia are adorable! Olivia has been through a lot and Grant doesn’t just protect her but helps her find herself. This book gets a little deep but is such a great story!

I did not enjoy this book. While it was well written and had an interesting story, It had the traditional "billionaire falls for girl who needs protecting" trope, however it was very manipulative/ abusive.

For example, and some spoilers may be below

- He got her fired from her job and forced to work with him, against her wishes
- He pursued her romantically even though she repeatedly said no
- When they were intimate, she asked to leave her shirt on and he said "don't be ridiculous" and removed it anyway.

I am not against this trope, but this is clearly not a healthy relationship. It's not romantic at all.

Couldn't stand it any longer, I swear.
It didn't take the FMC even two months before easily accepting he is into illegal shit, that too serious.
I found her with no thoughts of her own and nothing but a shell. Where was the woman who supposedly got away from so much bad in her life? Shouldn't she be a bit apprehensive of the MMC 🙄.
I am just gonna rant if I write a proper review. It's best that I don't.

Wasn’t expecting this to be as suspenseful as it was… and it really was. I liked the female main character. The story is told from her point of view. Throughout the book, there are some flashbacks to continue giving us some more background information regarding the situation and the character’s backstory. The writing and the transitions from flashbacks to present day was well done. There weren’t too many. The romance was good because of how hard she made it for Grant. Being she was an interpreter, I would have liked some German phrases used. The ending lost its fluid transitions. about the last 15% felt rushed. The chapters jumped ahead to future points without resolution to what happened in the prior chapter and there was even a chapter I believe was unnecessary.

All in all, this is a solid 3 star for me. It entertained me and kept me interested.

Great characters. A sexy dark romance. Great suspense. I seriously couldn’t put this book down! Olivia/Vivian is our main character with a past that she ran from. Meets our tall dark and morally grey CEO, Grant. I loved their chemistry!!

I also loved Olivia’s self confidence grow throughout the book! She started out small, afraid, hiding and keeping herself under the radar so she wouldn’t be found. To a fierce, bold and take charge woman at the end! I was so impressed with how she handled her mom after all was said and done.

I’m excited to get my hands on book 2!!

What a beautiful story this was. I absolutely loved everything about it, well maybe not Grant’s brother, but he only made Grant and Olivia’s story more beautiful.🖤

She helps him love again. He helps her be stronger and stop running. Grant and Olivia are both amazing individuals, but an even stronger force when banded together. Loved every second of this read!

Once the spice started it was almost constant. Hero was iffy, heroine wasn't b too bad. Serious drama, sometimes unneeded.

Once again Garnet has broken my soul and fused it back together with one of her books and all I want to say is thank you. Never Hide Again was way darker than I anticipated it to be and I was LIVING FOR IT. Grant and Olivia are electric together and easily one of my new favourite bookish couples. One of my favourite parts of this book was seeing Olivia’s character development as she goes from a meek, terrified girl into a strong, powerful woman with the help of Grant. Women don’t want someone to save them, they want someone who will stand by their side while they save themselves.

The plot in this book kept me on the edge of my seat as these characters fought to overcome their pasts in favour of a better future together. If you love possessive, powerful men who will do anything for the woman their love, be prepared to swoon for Grant.

I am so excited to read the next book in this duet!

Fantastic Read

This book was BOMBTASTIC. It was Captivating, it was breath-taking, it was out of this world good. I loved how Grant kept Olivia up on a throne and worshipped her like the queen she was always meant to be. And for that Olivia accept Grant for everything he is. Their love is undying, it's bad its good, it's overwhelming. But isn't that what the freshest love stories are though?

Garnet really does an amazing job keeping you on the edge of your seat and questioning your sanity (well at least she did me) If I could go back and re read this for the first time I wod in a heartbeat.

Vivie, turned Olivia, was hiding for her dangerous past. Eventually it always finds you- always. Luckily, she had a billionaire lover who would set the world on fire to save her.

The spice was present, the romance was pretty on point. The suspense was good, and I love how she cleaned up the mess left behind. It was great to see Olivia’s power come out and then witness the special relationship she has with grandpa.
This book was great from the start! Story telling on point.

I received an ARC copy of this novel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Garnet Christie is an auto-buy author for me. She never lets me down and I can hardly ever wait to get her book in my hands. Never Hide Again was no exception to that list.

Olivia has a secret, and if it was ever found out, her life would be in danger. Because of that, she is constantly trying to stay out of the lime light. Her secrets affect many things, friendships, relationships, job choices, everything. But then Grant walks in and decides this woman deserves to be in the light, and he's right.

Grant doesn't let Olivia hide. He's persistent, even going as far as uprooting her life while supporting her at every turn. When his own secrets come to light to show him as a morally grey man, Olivia decides to join him. She finds her own power and becomes just as grey as he is. Olivia fights for what she believes in becoming a strong, powerful heroine who is a force to be reckoned with.

This book has everything: mystery, suspense, touch her and perish, touch him and you're done, top tier smut, incredible banter and tension.

Download it now, you will not regret it.

This is the first book by Garnet I have read. This book is an amazing read. There is romance, danger, and mystery. Olivia’s life hasn’t been easy. She has been living in hiding and looking over her shoulder. That is until she meets Grant. She fights what she feels for him but he won’t just let go. He wants to show her how fantastic they could be together. Grant has had his share of trouble. They fit so well together. Olivia is turned on by some of the things Grant does that maybe someone else wouldn’t be. They make each other better. Olivia was worried at first about how Grant might react when she tells him about her past and what she has been through. Grant has some of the same worries in regards to Olivia and the things he does. This book takes you on a wild ride for sure. I was worried that it would be a cliff hanger because it is a duet but it isn’t. There is a lead into this second book at the end of this one. I can’t wait for the next book. I look forward to reading more books by Garnet in the future. Great job Garnet.

I am so in love with everyone in this book - Grant is so amazing, drool worthy and fiercely protective. Olivia is so badass, independent and everything I want in an FMC.

Grant and Olivia's story is filled with everything you expect from a dark romance - passion, heartbreak, fear, spice ;), but all of it is overcome by the strength they have when they are together. I wasn't expecting all of the twists and the story is so much better for it. I hope we get a second novel set in this world about Roxie - loved her as a secondary character.

I cannot get over the format of the story, love the little flashbacks to Olivia's past to give you insights into her current turmoil. The entire story is very well written and the chapters were the right length, pulled you in and told you enough without you getting lost in the details. They always gave you good stopping points (though I had a really hard time putting my kindle down).

Review coming soon.

Writing this review has not come easy. This book was so good and engrossing that I feel like my words won't do it justice.

Olivia Tucker is living in fear. She's been living in hiding for the last five years. She does her best to keep a low profile. Until she meets Grant Brexton, he's a billionaire and CEO of Hall and Brexton. After she helps him with interpreting he does his best to steal her away. He's used to getting his way and so when she resists his charms he does his best to try and convince her.

There's no doubt in her attraction to Grant. But the last thing she wants is to draw attention to herself. And Grant Brexton draws a lot of attention. Just as things are starting to look up for Grant and Olivia, the man who took the love of her life away from her is suddenly released from jail.

Thank you so much to the author and GiveMeBooks for this ARC to review.

Wow this was…gratifying!

This is a first time author for me. I found her book recommended on Instagram and I put it on my TBR list. What intrigued me was the “touch her and you die” trope. This story had a great alpha male, a heroine who evolved and embraced her power and also some darkness. I loved how the author tied up every knot in a satisfying way. The steam was spicy. Will be looking at other books this author wrote!

This was a good story. It was full of angst, danger, steam, friendship, and love. Olivia had her secrets and a past that she was trying to hide from. She was strong despite her fears, and I was thrilled that she had found people to trust. Grant was one determined man. He was used to getting what he wants without too much work until Olivia. He was pushy enough to get her to admit her feelings and desires. He promised protection, and I loved his willingness to own up to his feelings. I really enjoyed his hard work and honesty with regards to Olivia.

I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

this one!!!

Okay okay okay… how can Garnet Christie write slow burn and fast burn so well. This fast burn suspense is amazing and hits so many fab tropes. Touch her and d—, billionaire boss, morally grey hero, feisty heroine, suspense, the spice was 10/10 for me. Just one of my favorites this month for sure. True chemistry was truly beautiful. The ending the hea I never knew I needed.

This one was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the characters, the chemistry between the two MC’s and the plot. I do feel like it was a bit drawn out at times and I wish the final confrontation with the big bad had lasted a bit longer and had more drama. I’ll definitely keep reading!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This was my first Garnet Christie book and I really enjoyed it. I loved the way the characters open up to each other. I loved Grant being the Alpha that he is. I loved how he treasured Olivia, brought her out of her shell and showed her how to be confident and how to stand up for herself. And the ending was marvelous! Thank goodness for the HEA!! I can't wait for the next book about Ronin!!
