*muffled screaming* This was so good! I love city settings and this episode did not disappoint at all. Politics, twists, new characters, Mally being perfectly shakeable and Judicus being utterly everything he always his. Just perfection.

So. Judicus MAY be running his hands through his hair a tad too often for me xD (but, hey, he's BEEN pretty stressed out, without ANY let up), but I still love him SM... and this story... It feels like a celebration of all the good in this world that is fighting against all the evil. <33

Nutritious popcorn for the soul is his I described Sarah K. L. Wilson’s Phoenix Heart series to my husband recently. I loved “Season 1” and looked forward to Season Two. These stories are all well written and highly addictive. Each is a fast fun read. Enough that I was able to binge read through all five of this “Season’s” books in one (admittedly extra long) sitting. Pure yumminess. I loved Sersha and Kazmerev (and, ok, Judicus too) and who couldn’t live phoenix-riders and a great quest to save the phoenixes and all of Calicarn from the predations of the (cue bad-guy music here) Stryxex? A perfectly written wild ride through yet another great story arc filled with a wonderful cast of characters (both good and bad guys). Not surprisingly I find it easy to highly recommend this 2nd Season of stories as much as I did Season 1. You can definitely read these stories in individual episode bites (they’re actually well designed for this) or binge it as I did. Either way you’re bound to enjoy it.

It's a good episode. Now approaching the halfway point of the season, Sersha continues to grow into an imposing character, but she's not quite there yet. Several new characters join the cast. One step forward and two steps back is an apt description of this episode which doesn't end well. I look forward to the next episode as I hope someone shows Sersha as much concern as Kasmerev.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

Sersha is having problems again and hoping to survive as usual. Glued to the end to see what happens this time. Lots of action and suspense. A twist for fun too along with a bit of danger. But entertaining to read. Will she survive the city.

Sersha and Mally are in Briccatore with no other help and it is constant daylight - so no Phoenix. Sersha is separated from Mally and finds a new (possible) ally. She needs to get back to Mally and get her to put an end to this endless day. This series is non stop action.

Fantastic series!

I absolutely love this series! When I start one of the stories, I just can't seem to put it down. It is filled with good vs. evil, magic, Phoenix and magical riders, and monsters.

Sersha had promised the Grand Hadri as he died, to take word to his spies and a warning of the raiders and their stryxex, and now she had arrived in the city of Briccatore with Mally as her sole companion. Mally was her cousin, and the ai'sletta, and as the day wore on it became obvious that unusual things were happening and that Mally was shifting the course of fate through her crown, the diadem of darkness. She also was her usual uncooperative self and let her loose tongue disclose their secrets. Furthermore the sun refused to set, so the day lingered and because of this Sersha found herself without her beloved Kazmerev, her phoenix. Without him she felt alone and totally voiceless especially as she was desperate to pass on the message of danger before the city was overcome by raiders and their stryxex. This episode is chock full of action, acts of heroism on the part of Sersha, as well as that of Judicus and Gundt as they leave her behind in order to face their Empire's enemies on the island. Poor Sersha is more alone than ever and pulled between two groups of people who surely wanted nothing good to come to her. I am so glad these episodes are released quickly as this episode leaves us on a cliffhanger of an ending and I cannot wait to see what happens next in this very thrilling series!

A fast read story that takes you into what a ai'sletta can do but raiders have other ideas on what they want her to do for them, not good. Getting through the city and finding two friends helped build Sersha's confidence and getting some new clothes and a decent meal really helped. Sersha is unable to speak and her sister does what she wants to while getting them in some predicaments that almost cost their lives. Trying to get out of town but the Flamearch riders had other ideas. Unknown to them the raiders were already in town and have taken most of it over. Now, what happens? Good reading.

The tension mounts to obscene levels in this high action packed episode.Things are not going Sersha’s way. If ever there was a rollercoaster journey, this is it. There are so many twists and turns that it’s hard to keep up at times. You hardly have time to draw breath . All we can do us hope that in the future date will go her way.
Such a thrill reading this. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.
This is definitely my kind of fantasy adventure series.

This series is like watching your favourite tv series come out each week and has you on the edge of your seat with it! Sersha is such a great character despite the fact that she cannot speak, she does not let this keep her down even when things are not going her way! It’s a fantastic fantasy read that I wait with anticipation for each episode and so far has not let me down!

Sersha is in Briccatore and Mally has broken the sky. The Grand Hadri is dead but before he died he makes Sersha promise to tell his spies what is going on. Only problem is Sersha can't contact Kazmerev because the sun is stuck at dawn. Fast read that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Sersha is in even more trouble and this time has to try to fix it without Kazmerev's help in this portion of her story. It is just as good as the previous ones.

I liked this episode very much. There was enough tension but not in a breathtaking speed. Some more clues to the styrexes and the grand scheme behind everything. But what will Sersha do now?
