Well this wasn’t terrible. I just really couldn’t feel the love between the two protags in this. The FMC was a cute, kind of Pollyanna type of woman, but she stuck up for herself and was all around likeable. The MMC on the other hand was so unlikeable to me. He was a major asshole, a terrible boss and a bad father. Everyone kept telling Elizabeth that he was so into her but I did not see it. He barked at her, disparaged her, judged her before speaking to her and took everyone else’s word ahead of hers. All this guy had going for him was his looks and his money. The third act break up was monstrous. He did not deserve a second chance. Also the book led me to believe he was going to do a big grovel, but it wasn’t really big enough.
The ending was sweet but as usual the nanny didn’t follow her dreams and become anything other than a housewife. They teased us about her wanting to be a teacher but that was abandoned in favour of her getting pregnant. Please, someone plan an intervention for me next time I pick up a nanny book, I beg you.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: enemies to lovers
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

Simply loved this story so much. Pretty angsty tale of two people trying to navigate both a workplace romance as well as the fact the hero has older children who just lost their mom. Be prepared to bust out the tissues and be wrecked. In a good way, lol. Rome was hot grumpy perfection who was willing to put in the work when he did his girl wrong. Elizabeth is a wonderfully empathetic human being with a huge heart. Despite her insecurities she showers everyone around her with smiles and happiness. Wonderful storyline. Wonderful characters. Left me with ALL the feels ❤️. Light on the smexy (smattering of fooling around until close to the end), but totally didn’t miss it - the story was just that awesome ♥️.

Romeo owns a restaurant where Elizabeth has worked for 3 years. He yells at her but she’s his favorite. When his wife dies and his kids need a nanny he hires Elizabeth. Things heat up. Some drama with the teenage girl child but eventually hea.

At the minute I have been wanting to read something more light hearted with good enough plot but nothing too complicated. This delivered. Actually a few books from this author delivered and hit the right spots for me.

Was it a touch predictable? Of course.

But still - this was easy to read and enjoyable, with good characters, enough development for me and some steam. Even tiny bit of possessiveness from H. Conflict was over relatively quickly, but hey - just as I said, didn't want anything complicated!

Kayt Miller is a new-to-me author and this is the first book I've read by the author and it will not be my last one. This book is a great single dad, nanny romance.

From Elizabeth working at Roman's restaurant, they are attracted to one another but Roman is always so closed off and grumpy towards her that she never think her feeling would be reciprocated. Until one day, Roman offered her to be his children's nanny. Elizabeth is always in his home now that she's his kids' nanny there's no way to keep his feelings for her a secret.

I enjoyed their story. It was pretty entertaining and I loved Elizabeth's relationship with Roman's kids.

Kayt Miller is a brand new to me author y'all and what a fun, all in your feels, angsty little romance this was. DadBod was exactly what I needed when I read this beauty this week (something lighter to decompress). It was the title that drew me in to this book (loooove it's uniqueness!) but the words had me staying.

Rome and Elizabeth, what a pair these two were. They hooked me early in their complicated, slow burn journey and I devoured all they gave. This romance was loaded up with some of my favorite tropes- boss/employee, nanny, AND single parent. Mouthful eh? So, so good.

An easy read that fill up your time with heated, undeniable chemistry, angsty complications, and a romance that you can't help for root for... and hope for it to all work out in the end.

I totally recommend this book.

4.5 star Review of Dadbod by Kayt Miller

Kayt Miller is a new author to me and I am surprised I have not come across her books before. This is Romeo "Rome" James and Elizabeth Duncan’s story and it was an entertaining read from the first to the last chapter.
From the moment they met when Elizabeth applied for a job in his restaurant When In Rome there was a connection. Underneath his gruff exterior, there is something about single dad that calls to Elizabeth.
When tragedy strikes and Rome suddenly find himself with his a full time dad, he turns to Elizabeth for help. I fell hard and fast for Romeo, although I admit at times I wanted to smack some sense into him. I loved Elizabeth, such a feisty, sassy woman who was not afraid to stand up for those she loved and what she believed in.
Their journey was rocky, particularly when one of Rome’s children refused to give her a chance but it was worth it in the end. There were parts of this book that had me tearing up, the children were so vulnerable and I loved the relationship that Elizabeth forged with them.
The secondary characters, particularly Jeriann were great and I loved how she always had Elizabeth’s back, no matter what, a true friend. This story had, romance, love, heart and soul and was a good read.

Kayt Miller is a fairly new author to me but with each book I pick up I’m left wondering why I haven’t read more by her. I will certainly be checking out her other works as soon as time permits. This is Romeo ( Rome) James and Elizabeth Duncan’s captivating story and I highly recommend it to all romance lovers.
Elizabeth works for Rome in his restaurant but when tragedy strikes and he suddenly finds himself as a full time dad he asks her to step up and look after his two children for the summer. What follows is a entertaining and sometimes heartbreaking story as Elizabeth gets to know Calvin and Rynee who are in desperate need of a friend as they try to get over the loss of their mother and adjust to their new life with their father.
This is a beautifully written journey that touched me on so many levels, I fell hard and fast for Rome, I adored Elizabeth but it was Calvin who at times stole the show. I loved how patient Elizabeth was with a vulnerable teenager and how she did everything possible to help the children deal with their new life and the loss of their mother. Can’t wait to read more from this very talented author.

Oh, my heart! This book gave me SOOO many feels. For it to be labeled a RomCom, there were way more emotions involved than I thought there would be... but in a great way! I love single dad romances and Elizabeth and Rome's story is a little bit angsty and SUPER full of chemistry. There is a lot going on in the story with outside situations, but I adored it. All in all this romance is full of emotion and a great story. I definitely enjoyed reading it and give it 4.5 outta 5 stars!

PS: Thank you to Kayt Miller and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.

When I started reading this one, I thought Rome was a grumpy douche, lol... But man did he prove me wrong😊

Elizabeth worked for Rome in his restaurant, When in Rome. And even though she was attracted to him he was still such a grouch, lol. The highlight of her day is annoying him, which is so easy 😊

Rome does not want to be attracted to Elizabeth, but the attraction between them is undeniable. So when he hired her as a nanny, then he has to stay away from her, right...

This was such a cute RomCom. I loved Elizabeth she really knew am just how to get on Rome's last nerve. But she was amaIng with his kids. She helped them deal with their loss and showed Rome a diff side to her. Rome for all his grouchiness didn't shy away from doing the hard parts. Being there for his kids and his relationship with Elizabeth. I loved the single dad part but I loved how the whole story came together with Rome, the kids and Elizabeth. Lots of heartfelt moments, sad moments, funny moments and some real slow burn romance😊❤

Elizabeth & Rome had a connection from the first time they came face to face when she was applying to work at his restaurant despite the fact that he didn't come off as the friendliest sort. Things take a turn when he finds himself the single father of his two kids after tragedy strikes, so he hires Elizabeth as the nanny, and what could possibly go wrong?! They're in close quarters now so it's a lot harder to deny the connection they have which made for a slow burn entertaining journey. There are also the kids who were doing their best to steal the show. Those kids also provide a big kicker of angst as they're trying to deal with their new normal but Elizabeth was the perfect person to deal with since her heart is huge. DadBod was addictive, entertaining, emotional, and had loads of heart that did my heart in as I was experiencing it. To see how it pans out, you'll have to hit those one click buttons to experience it for yourselves as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

From their first meeting Elizabeth was attracted to Rome however she kept her feelings hidden as crossing the lines between professional to personal would only end badly especially. She doesn’t believe he will ever see her as more than an employee but when she agrees to be his nanny it becomes a gamechanger.

Roman’s life takes a turn he wasn’t prepared for when he finds himself a single father to his two children. Trying to balance being there for them and help them heal with his career isn’t going well. Elizabeth agrees to assist with the children however when the chemistry between them ignites are he or his children ready to let her into their lives?

Humor, heat and all the feels as Elizabeth, Roman and the children are brought together under painful circumstances but fight for happiness together.

Another great book from Kayt Miller

I've read just about every book on amazon by Kayt Miller (I've not read the palmer sisters series). This book was great. I loved that Beth isn't portrayed as a model type body type. (Which is true in others I've read by this author too).

Side story: My family took in foster kids when I was growing up. There were over 100 kids my parents took in while they waited to go to biological family or got adopted. The way these kids act in the book is crazy accurate. 1 kid will absolutely LOVE my family and their sibling would be of the "your not my parent" mindset.

This story was a good quick read. Not too focused on graphic scenes but not without it either. There are some characters I'd love to see a book on. (Jerriann and the guy at the animal rescue maybe)

This book was pretty "cute", in many ways. However, the chemistry between the two main characters was pretty non-existent for most of the book. It wasn't just a lack of spice, or sexy banter, (although that would've been super nice!) there was an inherent lack of communication, which made it hard to determine or intuit what the characters were feeling, especially Rome.

Generally I stay away from books with the single parent trope, because so much of the story is usually overshadowed by the kids, their activities, and their feelings regarding the duration and the progression of the main characters' relationship.
This book was no different,in that regard.
Overall there were cute moments, and what most would agree is a HEA. I would've loved to have seen a real depth of feeling being shown and expressed throughout the entirety of the book.

Rome is a restaurant owner who doesn't take crap from anyone. He is gorgeous, strong-willed, and really wants to strangle one of his waitresses. Elizabeth is trying to work she has a plan but if her boss doesn't get out of her a@@ she is going to lose it. Well sometimes she purposely drives him nuts and it's so fun. These two have chemistry and a bond no one sees. Well, some people do but for them. When tragedy hits Rome becomes a single dad. Now he needs help more than ever. His kids are going through so much but the love he has for them is beautiful. These two will navigate not killing each other while protecting his kids. Can these two have a relationship outside of work? Sometimes you need a little push.

Dadbod is a sexy single dad romance coupled with the dating the boss trope. This is Beth and Rome's story. I thought this book was OK. The couple did have good chemistry and their romance was kind of a slow burn. My biggest issue was that the couple really lacked communication. Rome drove me crazy because he had a tendency to overreact at situations. Honestly, I think that Beth kind of gave him one too many chances. I'm not sure the guy would ever learn to "read the room". What I enjoyed more than the romance was the relationship that Beth had with the two kids. I loved how she helped them both heal from the loss of their mother. That is what saved the book for me and is why I would recommend picking this one up.

Amazing! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This author is new to me. Dadbod is a standalone and is the first book I've read from Kayt Miller. This story is about Elizabeth and Rome. Rome own's his own Italian restaurant and Elizabeth is one of his waitresses. She always had a crush on Rome. They are attracted to one another but Roman being a guy doesn't know how to show his true feelings for her. I loved Elizabeth and Rome!! When Rome finds himself to be a full-time parent to his two children and is in need of a nanny. Elizabeth turns out to the be the right person for that position. Can Rome keep fighting his attraction to Elizabeth now? I couldn't put down the book until the end. It's a MUST READ! Can't wait to read more from this author.

Kayt Miller never disappoints! Every book she writes has a wonderful story with fabulous characters, and DadBod is no different. It is emotional and smart, and heartwarming in all the right ways.

The dynamic between Elizabeth and Rome is everything I want in a romance novel. It’s heated, it’s emotional, and it isn’t always easy. There’s baggage, on both sides, and they are two imperfect people. But there were other relationships, too, that I loved. The changing relationship between Rome and his children wasn’t smooth, but it was believable and so emotional. And I adored watching Elizabeth’s different relationships with each of the kids. All of it wove together to create a story that was deep and beautiful. Such a great read!

This was a delightfully funny read. I loved Elizabeth. I so want to be friends with her and her best friend. She's a kind hearted woman whose compassion is going to make a major impact on the James family. My heart broke for Calvin and Ryann. You could tell how much they were hurting. Calvin is a little comedian with the things he comes up with. I loved the special bond her forms with Elizabeth. Now Rome can have his jerky moments, but he has a soft inside brought out by his kids and Elizabeth, One thing I really liked about Elizabeth is she calls Rome out on his behavior. This is a make you feel good romance with the great combination of heart, heat, and humor. A part of this book that will hold a special part of my heart is Ryann and Charlie.

This book is amazing! It gives you such a warm feeling, I really loved it! DadBod by Kayt Miller is a must read, I loved Romeo and Elizabeth, Shakespeare meets Austen and the sparks fly. Elizabeth and Rome have known each other for three years when she started working at his restaurant. The pull was instant, but each held back, her insecurities and he is her grumpy employer. Tragedy strikes, this becomes this amazing story how they navigate through loss of his children’s mother, a teenager, working together and a hardship in Elizabeth’s family. Her loving soul soothes the grump and helps them to heal. This truly is my favorite Kayt Miller story it just perfect!! It really is a must read for the romance reader!

Dadbod was enjoyable enough for a quick romance read when I was looking to just relax. There are some things that are a little off-putting such as Romeo's attitudes on occasion, but our main character Elizabeth always stands up to him which I think is important. That said I don't know that his crankiness really served a purpose. Additionally, some of the language that was used when things would heat up was really juvenile which is always ridiculous to me. That said, I really loved the rest of the characters and I thought the author did a great job in writing the development of this relationship between Elizabeth and Romeo's kids, especially in the wake of what they're dealing with. Plus, who doesn't love a side of animal rescues? All in all, a quick and easy read. 3.5/5 stars.

Elizabeth is sassy and feisty and enjoys pushing Rome’s buttons and driving him nuts. Elizabeth has always had a crush on Rome but did not think it was reciprocated. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. This is a well written story which has emotions, family, loss, grief, friendships, humor, and love, which leads to an entertaining and moving addictive page turner. ✨Spice 3🔥

✨Thoughts: this was a really sweet and romantic slow-burn single dad forbidden romance. Romeo has always harbored feelings for Elizabeth, but never acted on them because she works at the restaurant he owns. And when he hires her to help care for his kids after his ex-wife passes, he becomes drawn to her even more.

As much as I liked the slow burn angsty romance of this story, I really loved her relationship with the kids and how she handles their grief and coping with losing their mom.

This was an unexpectedly charming little read.

✨Genre: Contemporary romance
✨Tropes: single parent, forbidden romance, boss/employee, slow burn
✨TW/CWs: loss of a parent

Elizabeth works hard to support herself, plus she sends money home to her father and puts money on her brothers account on prison.
Rome is Elizabeth's boss but he also imagines her in his home and bed. When his ex wife dies and leaves him a single father he talks Elizabeth into being his nanny for the summer, even though it leaves him short staffed at the restaurant.
Things progress well until Rome finds out the Elizabeth's brother is in jail and he flies off the handle, and says some bad things and fires her.
When he cools down he has a lot of work cut out for him to get her back.

Elizabeth works at a restaurant and is forever bickering with her very handsome but arrogant boss, Rome. When she gets another job working as nanny to his bereaved kids, their relationship takes an interesting turn. Both are into one another but are coy with letting each other know.
DadBod is a great read. I like how it’s a slow burn and doesn’t jump right Into sexy times. I love how Elizabeth relates to the kids and how much she affects Rome. DadBod is a book that explores many issues and I think readers will relate to it. Highly recommended
