4.5 star Review of Dadbod by Kayt Miller
Kayt Miller is a new author to me and I am surprised I have not come across her books before. This is Romeo "Rome" James and Elizabeth Duncan’s story and it was an entertaining read from the first to the last chapter.
From the moment they met when Elizabeth applied for a job in his restaurant When In Rome there was a connection. Underneath his gruff exterior, there is something about single dad that calls to Elizabeth.
When tragedy strikes and Rome suddenly find himself with his a full time dad, he turns to Elizabeth for help. I fell hard and fast for Romeo, although I admit at times I wanted to smack some sense into him. I loved Elizabeth, such a feisty, sassy woman who was not afraid to stand up for those she loved and what she believed in.
Their journey was rocky, particularly when one of Rome’s children refused to give her a chance but it was worth it in the end. There were parts of this book that had me tearing up, the children were so vulnerable and I loved the relationship that Elizabeth forged with them.
The secondary characters, particularly Jeriann were great and I loved how she always had Elizabeth’s back, no matter what, a true friend. This story had, romance, love, heart and soul and was a good read.
