The women I take need control. They all start as coal, unrefined and untainted. They need to be polished and carved into the diamonds they deserve to be. Sometimes they are too weak to withstand the pressure and heat, and turn out too flawed to even be worth gazing at. Lily isn't going to be any different than the others. She doesn't stand a chance.

what a pointless fucking waste of my time this book was

I just don't get it

There were just too many unanswered questions. Why was Lily so different? What happened to "break" Monica? And how on earth could Giovanni have fallen in love and known that Lily was different and 'the one' when, at that time, he had spoken maybe 20 words to her? Truth be told, I was bored and it was a struggle to finish. Even the sex scenes didn't really hold my interest as they lacked the dominance I felt was promised by the description of the "Master". Lily was a bit of an annoying character, screaming out her frustrations one second and then easily capitulating the next. The progression of events just didn't make any logical sense.

Lily is working away at her desk when her boss tells her she can leave work early. Most everyone else has already left. So she will surprise her boyfriend early and stops off and gets fireworks, since it is the 4th of July weekend. What Lily wasn't expecting was the shock she got when she got to her boyfriends place. She leaves his place after throwing the fireworks and his key at him and slamming the door. She doesn't go home, he would only follow her there. So she goes somewhere she has wanted to go for a while. The casino has people dressed up or in tourist clothing. She noticed a man that is staring at her. When he invites her into the high rollers section, she can't believe he noticed her. After winning, they go to his room. She thinks one night with him will help her get over her boyfriends betrayal. When she wakes in a different place, she can't believe what has happened. Can she survive what Giovanni has planned for her or will she break like everyone else? Will Giovanni realize what he is doing and trying to find? I love a good dark read and this one is right up there for me. Finished this one in less than five hours. Another great story from Amy Isan.

I was very fortunate to receive an ARC of Dark Exposure by Amy Isan in exchange for an honest review. As always, Amy Isan has the ability to grab her readers attention from the very beginning and keeps them wondering page after page what will happen next. Once I started reading, I couldn't put the damn book down. Dark Exposure is most definitely a a twisted, delicious, and intense story. The physical attraction between Lily and Giovanni is raw, edgy and unpredictable. Dark Exposure is a well-written book that had me on the edge till the very end. I loved this story.

I was part of a select few that was given a ARC of this book. Amy Isan out did herself again. I wish I could have crawled into her mind and glimpse where she gets this material from. Wow I wished it was longer. I wished it was longer. I found myself self gasping for my next breath thinking what's he going to do next. Giovanni Azzo aka hotness!! That bathtub scene had me fanning my face ladies. Lily's quirky smart mouth and behavior gets her into so much trouble. I love it. If you liked the movie 'The Secretary" then you will definitely love this book. Amy Isan keep them coming girl.

Dark, exciting and original
This story has a dark side that gets you to think what you would do if you were the main female character. Would you resist or just break. There were a few small hiccups that the author has been trying to upload a revised version, but has had some issues with Amazon doing it. By-passing them the story was very good and kept your interest. Very entertaining to read. I received a free copy from the author for an honest review.

The hero called himself an evil man, a monster and he was. He began a journey looking for the spark the shines from the soul. The captured women then broke and remade them only to lose that soul light.

Then he captured Lilly. She is his downfall and his treasure. This story started out as a capture story and grows into a love story.

An enjoyable read.

Mr Azzo and Lily meet at a casino
she goes up to his suite and next thing she knows
upon waking up is that she is shackled to a bed.
later she finds out she is in Italy.
not as Dark as I thought/hoped it would be.
He is a man with a heart and compassion. He is looking for a "Soul"
to photograph and has found it in Lily.

Very fast-past intense read. Although dark and a bit twisted, you couldn't help but feel the true attraction between the main characters. I found this story to be a very enjoyable and somewhat introspective read.

Meisje gekidnapt door alpha male... dat moet wat worden, toch? Helaas... uiteindelijk werd het niets. Raar verhaal. Heb nog meer titels van deze schrijfter hoog op m'n lijstje staan, maar krijg daar nou toch twijels over. Misschien gelijk maar eentje oppakken nu? Dan weet ik maar of dit een slippertje was, of dat dit gewoon zo-niet mijn schrijfster is.

Enjoyed the story but wish it was longer to see how their relationship played out. Great writing by amy as always and loved the characters. Dark romance is fasting becoming my favorite to read.

I thought this book was going to be a lot darker than it was. I also feel it was rushed & it felt like something was missing. The story was good although at first I thought I was having déjà vu. It sounded just like Only Pretend by Nora Flite but then it changed into a very unique story.
