**18+, mature content** **This is the second installment of a serial, and can't be read as a standalone.** **Unexpected Chances is the first book** Life has thrown Annie many curveballs from her parents being killed to being attacked. Things are finally starting to look up for her after she locates the father of her baby. Finding a great new family in the Millers, she believed nothing could taint her newfound happiness. Or so she thought... Shocking news that he was going to be a father slowly starts to fade for Jayden when he comes around to accepting Annie as a permanent fixture in his life. Finding Annie has been attacked shortly after coming home from deployment was a fear he had never felt. Thankful that Annie and their son were going to be okay, things are finally starting to look up for the soon to be parents as they take their time getting to know each other. But what happens when life steals time? Will the have regrets or take the second chance that life gives them and live it to the fullest?

Second Chances by S.L. Schiefer is the second installment of the serial and follows up on Unexpected Chances. Picking off where it last left off in the first book, Annie and Jayden must navigate the challenges of two strangers trying to discover what lies for them as upcoming parents. What if one night changes how you view each other? For Annie, the traumatic experience brought her closer to Jayden. Strong feelings and attachments begins to emerge. As the two begins to develop stronger physical and emotional relationship, Annie and Jayden begins to see their relationship coming to a full circle. But what if another accident steals Jayden and Annie’s second chance at love?
What really deterred me from giving this book a higher rating is that right after the accident, the couple fell in love so fast. The insta love factor was not believable. I would have preferred if the author took time with their relationship since they were basically still strangers and haven’t had the chance to get know each other. As for the cliff-hanger ending, I look forward to reading the third installment since I want to know what become of this new couple.

**I received a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review**
I LOVED this! S.L. Schiefer did not disappoint! She blew me away on her debut novel, and I wasn't sure what to expect for this one. She definitely nailed it! I fell in love with the characters even more, but now... now I have another book boyfriend to add to my list. I will forever love Jonah. And I cannot wait for the next book in the series to be released. I NEED to know what happens!

Wowzer yet again this author sure knows how to rope a reader in and keep em coming back for more. I could not open this one up fast enough because I had to see what happened next and my heart had gone out to Annie and Jayden. What a way to meet up with each other but that is now something else on their plate they will have to work out but if they can get through this they can get through anything. The flow still continues on with each page that is turned and a wonderful relationship does come from these two. They are so lucky they are truly finding they love each other and not just for the fact their is a baby either. I also so do love how this one there will be a green eyed monster thrown in the mix with a fellow co-worker of his who apparently has the hots for him but he has only the hots for Annie. Faithful he is thank goodness not a jerk but then he has been quite the man so far that any woman would love to get their hands on. This is a hot contemporary novel that has characters that do keep you reading it. Oh joy they will be looking forward to getting married because he gives the ultimate Christmas gift. Oh this author sure know how to throw us readers through the wringer though because New Year's Eve there are going to be some events that happen that even though the evening starts out innocent enough it will escalate into lots of drama that you think how much more can these two handle? The ugly green eyed monster in the form of that co-worker will play dirty pool that will have a hand into you once again being left with you holding the novel because you have reached the end saying OH NO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! I couldn't wait to read this book, after the big cliffhanger that the book left us with.
I was glad when Jayden and Annie started to get along. I loved how Jayden wouldn't leave her alone at all, he was being such a protector it was sweet. Neither one expected to fall in love, they just felt connected because of their child and will do anything for their baby. When things started to turn around and feelings for each other started to surface, I was happy for them. Jayden becomes really sweet and I couldn't believe he was the same guy that we met from the first book, the guy that didn't want anything to do with Annie. They started spending time together and fell for each other. Their life together started to become routine, they didn't even realized that a girl that Jake had been training at work have the hots for him and will do anything to make him hers. Just like the 1st book, this ends with a big bang thank you ma'am cliffhanger. Wow what a cliffhanger it is. I am hoping I don't have to wait to long for the conclusion of this story. Hopefully Jayden and Annie will get their happy ending, because they so deserve it.

The 2nd book in this series is just as great as the first. S.L.Schiefer drew me in to where I couldn't put the book down. Jayden and Annie go through so much just to be together. Then Annie tells Jayden to go out with his friends, Annie starts to go into labor, so she texts and calls Jayden but he doesn't answer or call back, so Jonah [Jayden's brother] ends up taking Annie to the hospital and being there when the baby is delivered. Jonah goes looking for Jayden only to find him with another girl and Jonah ended up taking Jayden to the hospital because he had been drugged. If you want to more details you need to get this book!! I am so looking forward to the 3rd book in this series!!

WOW!!!! I love the fact that this story is so realistic. S.L. Schiefer has a way of telling you a story that makes you one with the characters. The second installment in this series did not disappoint, if anything it makes me want so much more. To see the development of the relationship between Jayden and Annie is so heartfelt and real. Once again I wanted to scream when it ended, and not because it was bad, but because I WANT so much MORE.... I look forward to all that S.L. Schiefer has to offer and can't wait for more of Jayden, Annie and Jonah....

Was kindly gifted this book by the author.
OMG. Just keeps getting better and better. This picks up from where book 1 left off. Still had me gripped. Another emotional rollercoaster. The relationship between Annie and Jayden is even better and progresses as the book goes on. At points I was laughing out loud and then a few chapters later I was crying.
Has you gripped from the first page. The cliffhanger leaves you feeling angry and wanting more at the same time

This is part 2 in series and the author has done it to me again, left me wanting more. I love Jayden and Annie. There story is so gripping. I'm hoping for a happy ending in the next book.

There is a fire that is consuming the pages
That is some combustible stuff in this book. I really liked it however there are scenes that are violent and should be taken into consideration when reading. The author did a great job on bringing together the tragedy and love. I'm glad I took a chance.

So impressed with this being from someone new to the Author world. Love this book as much as the first and need the next part, as I'm going crazy not knowing what happens. Loved it and can't wait to read more.
