He tells her that he is her heart-mate and he will be coming for her soon. Before she knows it, Alissa is involved in a life and death struggle involving werewolves, witches, generational curses, magical silver earrings, and a hot sexual biting ceremony that will bind her to the man of her dreams and his strange life forever. Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

Lissa's a timid nurse whose best friend has moved away, has a mean racist grandmother and is being mistreated at work. She dreams of a man chained up who says that he's been searching for her all his life. He also a werewolf.

I thought Lissa was going to be a little more open to what was happening to her at the beginning of the book but then she turned super chicken shit toward the middle. Eventually almost all the way to the end she starts embracing her new life, but I wish it would have happened sooner. Besides that, the book was pretty good.

This book had an interesting premise, but I don't think it quite lived up to that. The story was about a young woman going through some very rough times who also happens to get bit by a werewolf infected lapdog. She then finds herself in even more troubles with a gypsy history she didn't she was a part of, a werewolf mate who marked her when she was five, and a crazy gypsy witch bent on general death and destruction.

I never could get behind Alissa (our main character and the perspective the book is written from entirely). Her personality seemed somewhat haphazard and she made decisions that made no sense, even in context for her. Stephan simply had a 2 dimensional character. There were some fun parts, but mostly it felt longer than in should have been. The solid friendship with her friend and the amusing interactions with her grandmother (it's nice to see someone stand up for themselves) were the best parts of the book.

This book is an older one of Mrs. Anderson's, and it shows. Her newer work is usually a pleasure to read, so don't let this dissuade you. It's good to know she didn't start off phenomenal. :) It wasn't an awful read, but don't get your hopes too high when you read it.

A mousy, repressed nurse at a city hospital is turned into a werewolf by an old gypsy curse and a few well-placed bites. More than anything I think I enjoyed this book for the references to Tampa and the descriptions of Alissa's bigoted and hard-as-nails grandmother and her rabid Pomeranian.
