The Seeker of Nothing by Kabir Munjal follows Andahar who has been on the sea for 7 years. He is now set on a mission, to return an ancient, yet curious box to its owner. Andahar is a man of few words who has a past which broke him beyond repair, with no hope in mind, all he cares about is his mission assigned by his brother. Along the way, Andahar faces many challenges, meets mysterious people and grows into someone that he never imagined to be.

This book is short and perfect to read over the weekend. I read this book while travelling in the local trains and got lost in the magical world the author created. Not many books can work with adventure, fantasy and philosophy, this book has managed to give all that and so much more. My favourite part was the unlikely friendship/devotion that was developed between Andahar and Elar. The author was able to show the soft side of Andahar perfectly with this friendship and that made Andahar all the more interesting.

As it is a short read of about 150 pages, it does not go into too much detail over everything, this could be difficult for some. Although such books can be read by beginners easily. The learning of the book will stay with me for a long time as I found myself nodding along with the author's words.

I enjoyed this title! Self help with a dose of fantasy and the appreciation of every situation presented to us, because they all bring a lesson. To a certain extent we all have a healing journey, regardless of what we have going on.

Our main character goes through several phases of reflection while embracing his journey and his healing process. This fable gave us the story about Andahar’s healing and the saving of Elar from an abusive master. They both learn from each other as the story unraveled.

We don’t see an action packed story but we do see a lot of healing on the way and tips on things we could correlate to our daily living. The writing style was well paced and easy to follow, I really liked the story of Elar. The friendship was definitely compelling, it was great seeing the progression during the events they faced.

If you’re looking for a story of healing along with inspiring message, this is definitely something you may want to try out.

Looking forward to reading more works by the author. Huge thanks to the author for gifting me a copy! All opinions are my own.

THE SEEKER OF NOTHING is a fantasy novella, a fable and a self-help book all in one. While it doesn’t have the most action-packed of plots, the story focuses on the protagonist’s internal journey to healing and finding himself after a traumatic event. I definitely recommend this read if you’re looking for something different that is quick and offers many points of reflection.

Despite the short length of the book (only 150 pages, give or take), I was very impressed with how much the author was able to fit into this story. The first half—which was my personal favorite—serves to ground the reader into the story, introducing characters, establishing relationships, and setting up the quest that will chart the protagonist’s arc throughout the book. The characters are very well-rounded, and I especially appreciated the complexity of the protagonist, Andahar. His backstory is absolutely heartbreaking, and his grief shines through his actions and thoughts.

The second part of the book focuses a lot more on the “self-help” aspect. Through simple writing and fable-like dialogues and exposition, the author charts Andahar’s healing journey and, in doing so, offers the readers advice on how to approach and move on from stressful situations and become the better version of us we can be. This is definitely a slower section compared to the fun fantasy quests of the first half of the book, but it does give a very satisfying resolution to Andahar’s story.

Overall this was very different from the fantasy I normally read, but it leaves a mark.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy!

I enjoyed this book so much! It was a fast read, but it made a huge impact even with it’s shorter length. I also loved the writing style. The story was told like a fable and it definitely read like traditional fables, which I really enjoyed.

I enjoyed how the main character’s backstory was slowly revealed through the story. It was tragic and heartbreaking, but also played a huge part in his journey and who he eventually came to be. I also loved the little boy that joined up with Andahar! He was precious and had so much enthusiasm…sometimes to Andahar’s dismay 😂

I highlighted a bunch of quotes, but here are a few that I really enjoyed and that I feel can apply to most of us:

“Often, it is the darkness in your life that sets you on your true path.”

“The choices you made were dictated by who you were, where you were, and above all, what you knew then. But today, you might be more aware, and therefore you can choose differently.”

“Suffering, unlike pain, is not an event, but a state of mind. It is a constant state of being that eats you from within and is strong enough to fell the mightiest among us.”

Aren’t those great?? I especially appreciated the quote on suffering.

Definitely recommend this if you’re maybe looking for a palate cleanser or if you just want a quick read that makes you think!

Thanks to the author for gifting me a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“You had said that when hearts unite, words will follow.” Master shifts on his stool.

The caravan leader smiles proudly. “Yes, dear, it is the wisdom of our ancestors. No matter where you go, it is through our care and compassion that we connect to people. And when we do, understanding always finds a way.”

The Seeker of Nothing was unlike any fantasy read I’ve picked up before. The story follows Andahar, a former warrior who—following a heartbreaking, traumatic loss—has closed himself off to the outside world, until his brother convinces him to go on a quest to return a magical artifact.

The first part of the story definitely reads like a fantasy fable, including a close encounter with mermaids and Andahar begrudgingly taking on a traveling companion, Elar, whom I adored. The grumpy-sunshine friendship that buds between him and Andahar was heartwarming, and I loved Elar’s positive outlook on life, despite his rough past and the abuse he suffered at the hands of his former master.

The second part of the book, however, was a surprise! This part focused on Andahar’s spiritual healing through a series of life lessons and advices. It read almost like a self-help segment within the story and offered many points of reflection for the reader to overcome hardships.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.

The Seeker of Nothing is a fantasy fable that follows the story of Andahar as he embarks on a mystical journey in pursuit of the Mountains of Templetron. This is a beautiful story about self-healing, forgiveness and light over darkness.

Elar was without a doubt one of my favorite elements of this fable. He is a young servant boy who is saved by Andahar from his abusive master. I enjoyed his innocent and fun personality as he accompanies Andahar on his quest. Andahar of the Blue Mountains was once a great warrior who fought honourably for his King. Until the day that everything changed and he fell into an unforgiving well of hatred and solitude.

The journey that Andahar and Elar face together is not an easy one. Not only must they tread through a dangerous path, but they also must face demons within. The story feels like a soothing balm to the soul, as we witness their friendship blooming and a man who was once lost to darkness finally finding his light.

✴️ It’s been almost a year since I read a fiction book. I’m glad that I read this book to put a full stop to that record. The story is fast-paced and engaging throughout although the second half of the book is focused on self-help, it doesn’t come off as preachy. The characters and story’s world are given enough details that keep you going and evoke vividness while imagining. ⁣

✴️ Though I would have enjoyed more hurdles and hindrances in the protagonist’s path, overall I didn’t feel bored or incomplete while reading the book. I really liked the self-help with a fantasy touch. Dialogues don’t sound out of place, they don’t take you out of the story, they are parable-like, ones that put forward the lessons. ⁣

✴️ I might be too far with my comparison but this book reminded me of The Alchemist, One of my favorite books. Like that, The Seeker of Nothing is a short and interesting read. One thing is, you follow the trajectory of the protagonist’s path and you notice his character arc as the story unfolds. I liked it. ⁣

✴️ I recommend this book if you are a beginner, or in a reading slump and want to come out of it. This would be a great read.

Beautiful fable, lots of deep meaningful conversations and endless internal follow up questions.
I think every lesson resonated with me and hit me deeply. In a period of uncertainty in my life, I think I'm now familiar with that peaceful place within and perhaps this will truly gift me the awareness of choice.
I will let the universe decide...
Thank you Kabir! I would love to turn the lessons into wall art just to keep reminding me of how I should be setting my path.

The Seeker of Nothing by Kabir Munjal is a fictional tale that revolves around the lives of two brothers. Andahar is dealing with inner turmoil and demons that refuse to leave him while his brother Ned-har tries his best to ease his pain and set him free. But nothing seems to work until a day arrives when Ned-har has to fulfil his duties towards his master and it’s only his brother who could do that for him. What has been the haunting past of brothers? How would Andahar’s journey look going forward?

The book takes us to the fabled lands of Corcusia and the Mountains of Templetron. Through Andahar’s journey, where he finds a young boy Elar who eventually treats him as his Master, the book attempts to emphasise the value of self-awareness. It tries to shed light on how one can take charge of their healing and bring themselves peace. An external force could only catalyse the process but the action has to start within.

The writing is simple but pretty thoughtful in the second half. The first half is slow as the story is still building up. Come to the second half, and the action begins with numerous nuggets of wisdom coming one’s way. The characters are raw and real, their personalities well-sketched by the author. I certainly liked the complex character of Andahar and how it develops with the narrative’s progression.

I am hugely passionate about the concept of self-growth and the thoughts expressed in this book aligned with my ideas. That clearly made me enjoy reading it. If you are seeking a book for self-help in form of a simple story, you can certainly check this one out.

The Seekerof Nothing authored by Kabir Munjal, is an intriguing and gripping tale that takes the reader on a thrilling adventure filled with magic, mystery, and danger. The story follows the journey of Andahar, a troubled warrior who on his brother request embarks on a perilous quest to deliver a mysterious box to the King of Templetron.

From the very beginning, the author captivates the reader with his descriptive and vivid writing style. The world-building is exceptional, and the author has created a rich and detailed universe filled with mystery.

The character development is also noteworthy, as the protagonist Andahar is a complex and multifaceted character with his inner turmoil and struggles and thus as a reader I became emotionally invested in his journey.

His journey begins with sailing boats from the land of Corcusia to the Mountains of Templetron.

Along the way, he encounters several individuals who aid him in reaching his destination and comprehending the significance of his expedition.

This story is an ideal fusion of fantasy and adventure, and each page contains a philosophical interpretation that enables us to gain insight into our own lives. Such narratives encourage contemplation and introspection and garner hope. I particularly appreciated the relationship between Elar and Andahar, as well as the subtle yet profound lessons of wisdom woven throughout the story, which made for a deeply reflective and thought-provoking read.

The plot is fast-paced and filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.

The author skillfully weaves together various subplots, and the story culminates in a satisfying and explosive finale.

What will he learn along the way? What does the box contain?
Why was he sent to the owner?
Who else will he meet along the way that will change his life for ever?

Overall, The Seeker of Nothing is an excellent debut novel by Kabir Munjal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy based philosophical read. The author's imagination and storytelling skills are impressive, and I look forward to reading more of his work in the future.

Okay, this story personally blew me away. So many things in one! There is a ton of spice, but there is also mystery, thrill, fantasy philosophical fiction and paranormal weaved into this story. There's a twist that I just never saw coming-though I will continue to state my disclaimer that I am a terrible plot predictor. The ending was so satisfyingly bittersweet, and I found myself feeling a tidal wave of different emotions through the final chapters.

•This was such a unique story and I really, really enjoyed reading it. Learning about healing, seeking good relationships, brotherhood and getting to know oneself was truly fascinating. How do you go through your day-to-day life not recognizing the people you should?

•The story revolves around a protagonist Andahar, a former warrior who went through heartbreaking, traumatic loss. He has closed himself off to the outside world, until his brother convinced him. There was a lot of love and support throughout the story which was nice to see.
Andahar was so quirky and the story line was so fun, sometimes comical-kudos on putting a funny spin on a crappy situation where Andahar's cabin was portrayed unbearable. The air is portrayed to be stale. It reeks of sweat and an overpowering wetness. His foul breath fills the small chamber, stinking of meat and lots of rum.

•The first half had me intrigued, it was suspenseful, you could feel the tension building. There were some parts I truly loved with this book. The writing was engaging with something always going on. It was a bit scarier than I thought it was going to be, but I think that added something extra to the story. The chapters were fairly short with interesting, abstract titles. The shorter chapters meant that the story had a good pace to it.The story wasn't long overall, there was a lot of detail and action packed into it. The characters were great. There was a lot of love and support throughout the story which was nice to see. Lastly the settings. I enjoyed travelling to different times and places with the character.

Overall an interesting book. Highly Recommended !

The seeker of nothing; a fable on owning your life by Kabir Munjal is a great fiction book with a lot of knowledge.

The story follows Andahar, a warrior, who is on a quest to get the box that his brother gave him back to his owner, the King of Tempeltron. But before he can do that he needs to fight his inner demons first.
Along the way he meets people that will help him on his journey, giving him advice and guidance to complete the task.

🧠 The book is easy to read and it got me hooked on the first page. Whenever I read a fiction book it’s always the question if I can relate to some of the fictional characters or learn something from the book itself. I didn’t have this problem with this gem. Andahar struggles to accept the fact that something bad happened to his wife, but it’s the acceptance that something happened that wasn’t in his control that led to his inner freedom.
I think we all can relate to that sometimes. Its hard to accept something we wanted so badly to be different, but the acceptance of the fact that it is how it is leads us to calm the inner turmoil.

Favorite quote:
“Wisdom is quite like food. No matter how exceptional it may be, if too much is consumed too fast, it will be rejected entirely.”

The things I learned from this book:
🔺 Sometimes what life cannot give you, darkness can. Often it is the darkness in your life that sets you on your true path. It’s the darkness that lights your way.
🔺 When hearts unite, words follow.
🔺 All your problems and pain exist only so you recognize and heal the wounds you carry deep within.
🔺 It is often in moments of great helplessness that once finally surrenders to something greater than oneself.

This book reminded me of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, so if you guys loved that one make sure to get your hands on this book.

How about a book that delivers a life philosophy with the help of an engaging fictional story? I remember reading The Alchemist by Paulo and The Go-Giver by Bob Burg. Such books left a remarkable impact on me. What can be more interesting than a story with lessons for life? After all, we all love stories.

It starts with the viewpoint of a man who’s so sad after seeing his brother’s never-ending unfortunate life. He’s remembering the kind of person he used to be and what he has become now. The book illustrates the uncertainty of life in a very explicit way.

He feels guilty of being incapable to help his brother, his brother Anadhar is a person who was once a fearless worrier and a cheerful happy person but now he's just a person deeply drown in his guilt, pain, and depression.

The story moves ahead and the protagonist begins the journey. A journey where he’ll explore and learn the true meaning of life and the mysterious ways of the universe. Through this story, the author portrays a beautiful philosophy. The book’s purpose is to help the readers learn about the misery of life and how they can turn such misery into a stunning life by their will and self-acceptance.

In the book, the author talked about 7 universal secrets to help you stay happy and courageous in life.
1. Power
2. Freedom
3. Peace
4. Redemption
5. Healing
6. Divinity
7. Magic

All of these 7 secrets are linked with Andahar’s journey. Which was quite helpful to understand these laws briefly.

With all that the story has a deep touch of emotions and suffering. The author did amazing work on character development. I would love to applaud his writing. For the debut book, I must say it was his best work. Engaging, emotional, touchy and relatable read it was.

Overall, the book is for everyone. It doesn't matter if you're a fiction reader or a non-fiction, just go for it.

𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞:

Anadhar the troubled warrior took the journey of seeking the truth. So far his life is filled with hardships, battles, and nightmares. Ned-har his brother urges Anadhar to go on a journey to redeem himself and get his life back. A formidable journey to the mountains of Templetron.

The fable is so well-woven that you won't be able to get away from it. Such a wonderful tale with spiritual and magical realism overtones. And in the midst of all of these components, the author successfully conveyed to the readers a significant and unmistakable message.

𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬:

The personalities of Anadhar, Elar, and Ned-har were all incredibly complex. As the drama builds to its climax, their personalities were gradually revealed.

The protagonist's personality is exposed one layer at a time as if the author were peeling an onion. And by the book's conclusion, it had radically evolved. I didn't anticipate the author to craft Elar's character with such skill. His character startled me and made me feel grounded. Without even claiming credit, he was the unseen thread that kept everything alive.

𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞:

✍️Can I use the word flawless? Of course, I can, It’s flawless and it suited me quite well. I really enjoyed how the book kept a consistent pace, and I finished it in a matter of days.

The narration is lucid. Although the novel is set in a different timeframe, the author managed to make his work relatable in every way, which kept me interested the entire time.

The Seeker of Nothing: A fable on owning your lifeKabir Munjal
This unusual book, imparts life lessons while chronicling the fascinatingly eventful trip of two brothers, Andahar and Ned-har.

The characters are quite colourful and don't feel overdone. Each character received a unique light and dark set, and I have appreciated how complex our heroes are.

The author mostly discussed healing lessons in the second half of the book.

After finishing a few chapters, I really began to absorb the unique writing style. There are numerous poetically evocative quotations and insightful philosophies, and the verbal flow has a poetic tone. It can be read in a few sittings, and young people who enjoy reading fantasy and thought-provoking fiction will likely find it appealing.

The revelations grow stronger as the plot develops because the characters delve deeply into philosophy and the meaning of life as they ultimately come to understand the difficulties. They gain wonderful knowledge from the sages and other spiritual authorities they encounter, which helps them reach their higher selves.

In a very simple manner, he drops wisdom on life and thereby motivates one out of the darkness.

I was so enchanted when I came across the title of this book that I had to pick it up and try it. It is often said and predicted that the one who seeks success never gets it but the one who seeks results often gets a by-product in terms of success. People who ask too much for their own are not the ones who end up with the things but once you know to be content and live on is when you are rewarded with the things you need. Talking about wants, needs and seeking things and rewards reminds me of Nanny McPhee and her one true rule, when you need her and do not want her, she stays but when you want her but don't anymore need her that is the time she must go.

I refrain from speaking philosophy anymore but here is the thing, Andahar is someone who is deeply in need to seek something out, maybe it is the Mountains of Templeton, maybe it is the king of Templeton whom he is tasked to deliver a precious object by his brother but most of all I think Andahar needs to seek himself in this wide wide world and make a place where he isn't lost anymore.

This is a story that had a certain medieval feeling attached to it, is it Arabian Nights that I feel or is it The Alchemist that I hear but somewhere in between it echoes both of the legendary creations? I love the way the words have been studded in the ominously woven beautiful scarf of the book. I like my words and I definitely don't mind all the jewelled verses I can get, in this aspect, I was not disappointed by this book. Artistically structured and phenomenally woven the book presents your adventure and spiritualism both on the same platter. A book that needs an imaginative mind to visualize all the enigmas described as well as perceive the thoughts philosophized.

With Myst and magic, this story takes you to another time. Author Kabir Munjal makes a magnificent story that leads to an unforgettable life lesson. I loved that beautiful cover and was hooked by the plot of a bejeweled box but A flawless, enchanting storytelling style I was yet to discover, now I am baffled. The author made a risky game of mixing fantasy and awakening, and he is successful.

This is a story of the mystical journey of Andahar. Ned-har and Andahar are two brothers. Ned-har needs to deliver the bejeweled box to the King of Templetron. Andahar landed in Corcusia to the Mountains of Templetron, in this journey, Andahar meet with a teenage boy Elar.

Elar is an orphan boy who works for his bread and a shelter, his previous owner had done so much torture ruthlessly to him but now Elar is free. Elar meet with Andahar, and Andahar took him on his wing on this journey. Now Elar and Andahar both have to cross a mysterious, forbidden jungle. In this jungle Andahar received another mystery which he needs to solve. To know other secrets you have to read this book.

Every character in this book developed gradually and is rooted in the plot. The author narrated this story in a way that you couldn't put down. A magical page-turner.

The author slowly uncovered the plot in front of us. The word used by the author is simple and lucid. It's evocative and tranquil at the same time. Very well articulated, well maintained balanced between fantasy and spirituality.

The innocence of Elar, his flamboyant attitude, and the exuberance of his existence in contrast to other characters were refreshing. Everyone would fall in love with this little boy. I think Elar was the PowerPoint of this book. In the end, Elar shakes off the whole story with one innocent twist and that was an unexpected twist by the author.

I enjoyed the sprinkles of magical elements and felt goosebumps when the Elder uncovered the secrets of the bejeweled book. I felt emotional when the author peeled off the background of every character. And I felt sad when I reach the end. This is one of those books that you never wanted to be finished.

The essence of fantasy fiction is that it captures the mind and set new levels of imagination as well as imagery. And this book did the same by exploring the depths of ethereal worlds, characters, and events.

The protagonist of the story, Andahar is a prisoner of his past, but a warrior who has a goal of journeying to the Mountains of Templetron to deliver a box to the king. His brother Ned-Har is the catalyst in the journey and sets the onset to accomplish the pursuit. Another character, Elar assists them with his own destiny and goodwill as well his dedication towards the accomplishment.

As I read through the chapters, various perspectives and thought processes are detailed along with building the characters in the story. There are magical lands and intriguing forests, mystical creatures who they encounter on their journey with valor and learn vivid life lessons. One such life lesson is how pain or agony can become a necessary tool to reach the pinnacle, guiding one to redemption.

As the story unravels further, the insights get stronger as the characters tread deep into the philosophy and the purpose of their existence and understand the intricacies gradually. There are beautiful learnings as they meet sages and spiritual experts making them ascend to their higher selves.

The writing style is peculiar as I could really imbibe it when I completed a few chapters. The surreal flow in the language has a poetic essence and there are many quotes and philosophies that are thoughtful. One can read it in a few sittings, and it can be read by youth primarily who seek fantasy and philosophical fiction.

About The Content

The seeker of Nothing is a philosophical fictional story about how one can learn about life by an exciting adventure that can alter one's outlook on life.

The story's protagonist, a warrior named Andahar, struggles for seven years to forgive himself for the incident that forever altered his life. After spending seven years on a ship, he finally stepped foot on land when his brother Ned-har assigned him the task of delivering a jewelled box to the king of templetron. He encountered a lot of people on this exciting voyage who taught him the truths about life, healing, redemption, peace, forgiveness, and divinity.

It was a compelling story that may transport you on an adventure through beguiling countries filled with mystery, enchantment, and the pursuit of happiness. The author did a fantastic job of blending non-fictional material with fictitious material to create a novel with interesting characters and a well-developed plot. This is one of the best fictional books I've ever read since it expertly displays the setting of the tale.

In the second half of the book the author mostly discussed healing lessons, discussing how one views situations, no matter how good or horrible they may be, as well as the decisions one makes in life. He imparts information on life in a very direct way, inspiring people out of their gloom.

About The book

The book's cover page is really intriguing and well conveys the tone of the narrative.
Writing style is quite professional, and the author is a master at holding readers' attention throughout the plot without boring them.

A Fable indeed with Camels and ships and dates and a master with slaves and dragons to slay.
I started this book with the apprehension that this might be a quick read fable story with a happy ending. Little did I know that this will be a book that I will be recommending to all for a quick read if one wants a quick spiritual shot in the arm.

Now seeking spirituality is something very personal and one is initiated on its path not by recommendation or by following someone, but by seeking a deep meaning and purpose for one's own unique life path which in turn leads to us discovering things and people on our way.
I believe this book was also meant for such people seeking the path and you truly get to experience this book fully if you are truly seeking the path. True to its Title, The seeker of nothing will have to travel his own path to seek nothingness and understand the meaning.

Through a fictional story, the author leads us to a very quick explanation of the universal truth about
# Acceptance of one's journey,
# Choice, Freedom to use the choice wisely,
# Making peace with where we are
# See the perfection in all
# Seeking redemption and healing
# Surrender to what is
# The truth of nothingness.

If you are keen to explore the spirituality aspect and full absorb the book by reading this book again and again , then pick this up.

I had started reading this book almost 6 months back and as they say, I had taken a pause only to pick this up again at a stage of my life where the teachings immensely offered me answers, peace.

📍 Well this book caught my eye when i saw the cover and isnt it lovely ☺️
This is a book about Andahar who has lived in prison tor 7 years and now he is going to return to land! What does Andhar need to do? He needs to deliver a jewelled box to the King of Templetron! Is he going to face some challenges? Can he really overcome those? Why are the mountains of Templetron a big thing?

📍 The book is about 200 pages long and is full of short chapters that will go by easily as you read! I must admit the book is lucid and wont take you much time to finish this!

📍 Ever thought about reading a fiction book yet learn from it? When i say this only 1 name come to my kind that is “The Alchemist “ . This book is kind of on similar lines, although you would not find a lot of books written in such manner but when i was reading it , i could get the alchemist vibes from it

📍 The characters are strong yet i would have loved if they were defined in more detailed way. But to be honest when i help the book in my hand i could not wait to finish it because i wanted to know how it will actually end!! This book will keep you on your toes. It might take 20-30 pages to get a hang of the timeframe and the fantasy world it is built it but its worth it

📍 The book is recommended to those who love love love old time fantasy books with strong characters! If you like fantasy books about treasures, peasants, warriors, sailors then this is the one for you!
