When the front man leaves Jack's band, things don't look good for Snakebite. Then Laurie answers an advert. He can play the guitar far too well to be in a covers band, has a voice to die for, and wants to join. Laurie is the most delectable man Jack has ever seen, but Jack knows if he follows his heart, he could put the band at risk.

Curiously, this profile page allows me to add my date of death although so far as I can tell, to input info on such a page, you need to have identified yourself as being the relevant author. I can't help but wondering how many undead authors goodreads expects to sign up!

This was one of the first m/m stories I wrote. Probably the first in which there was only m/m content and i remember how nervous I was about doing it. Not being a bloke, not having all of the relevant body parts... it seemed about as far from writing what I know as I could get. So I set my tale in the world of cover bands and amateur musicians, drawing on every sexy bloke with a guitar that I've ever had the pleasure of leching over!

Writing stories is a learning process, empathising with people who aren't like you, finding out what life might be like for those in other times and cultures. Nothing should be off limits. Any human experience is worth exploring, trying to udnerstand and to work creatively with.

Once I got my head round that, writing m/m didn't seem like such a bad idea.

The cover for this one was created by Nix Winter, a very fine author of m/m tales herself, and someone I looked to a lot for insight and inspiration as I made my first tentative forrays into the genre.
