Trace Bonham is living large as the teen driver for a pro Super Stock racing team. He's on billboards and on the road instead of stuck in school. And he's blowing away the competition wherever he races. But Trace is worried that those who think his crew is illegally "juicing" his engine may be right. I grew up in the Midwest, and had no idea I'd become a writer one day. However I gradually felt a need to tell my own stories. To explain, in writing, how I saw the world.

Today I'm a full time writer with 13 novels, many short stories, and two movie adaptations. I enjoy visiting schools and libraries, and sharing what I've learned about writing.

My newest novel POWER & LIGHT (Sept 2023) is now out. The first of a two book adult saga, it follows the arc of a Norwegian emigrant family to the Midwest–their hardships and ultimate triumph.

Trace Bonham is a very good stock car racer. He always wins and people think that his team is cheating but can never find anything wrong with the car. His team is very big from advertising on billboards to doing good at racing. The racing team name is Blu racing and instead of being in school he is mostly on the road. He thinks that his team is doing illegal modifications to his car but he doesn't know what so it is up to him to figure out what they are doing.
In the book it states that he goes back to the race car hauler and tries to figure out what is done to his car but he can't figure out what it is if tech inspection can't even figure it out. It also states that he wins most if not all races he is in which is almost a dead giveaway that there is something illegal done to his car. In the book it is also stated that he tells someone that he thinks they are cheating and they said that he was the only one that thought that so they weren't going to believe him.
I think if you like racing or you just like cars I think you should read this book because it is by far one of the best racing books I've read. Stock cars are one reason I read this book. Another reason is because it didn't seem to hard when I was getting it. The author did a very good job at making this book because it's not to hard to read but not to easy.

Checkered flag cheater. Trace is a racer that races stock cars and always wins. Every time he races people always think he is cheating but they can never find anything wrong with his car. The author of this book is will weaver. He has many other books in his works. Trace went to his high school prom he had to buy a car to go back to his home state. And also He races agains one of his old friends and they think he cheated but they check and he didn’t. Trace is the main character and his team blu crew are the protagonist of the bookThe antagonist of the book are all of the other racers that think he is cheating

The reason that people should read this books is because at the beginning of the book you are on traces side tell the end. When you find out what smoky he mechanic does to the car to make it fast then the others but not get in trouble. The rating for this book would be a 5

I did not realize this book was part of a series, and I don't know if that messed with the plot. It was the same thing over and over again, it didn't get better until the last 40 pages. I love books about racing, that's why I picked this up, but this book missed the mark. It didn't make it out of the pits in time for the green flag.

Simple and short. Good for reluctant boys. However I did not find the action engaging and even I thought there were too many characters to keep track of.

Trace is living the dream. He's a well-known race car driver on billboards, is winning all the races, and the girls. But fans are starting to call him out as a cheater. He talks to his crew to try and sort things out, but this raises a good question: is it still cheating if you don't get caught?
A pretty intense story and good read. I liked the story, the moral, and the great descriptions. I found it frustrating, though, when I was really into the book and than it started saying car this and car that, and I had no idea what it was talking about. So, I recommend this book, but you might want to have at least some knowledge of cars.

This book does stand alone. Weaver makes references to the previous racing season but nothing the reader needs to know to understand the plot of this book.
Trace has become a professional stock car driver and has to decide whether to stick with a winning, cheating team or leave.
Good opportunities for discussion, especially when paired with books like Centerfield, or Payback.
This is a good boy book and approachable to struggling readers.

I realy liked this book, because I like racing. I like racing because my uncle races a superstock just like the main character in this book. I think this is one of my most favorite books that I like. The main character in this book is Trace. Trace is a teenager that races a race car. He doesn't own the car he just drives for team blu racing. Trace is in high school but he doesn't have to go, because he takes his classes online. Im looking forward to reading another one of these books.

I chose this book because I like Will Weaver as an author and I also like this series like Saturday Night Dirt and Super Stock Rookie. I also love all kind of racing from dirt to asphalt. These kinds of books interest and makes me want to read more. I liked when Trace drove the sprint car. I finished this book in 3 days the book was good it made me want to read more. I think people who like racing books and love to watch racing.

Trace Bonham is racing with Team Blu, signing autographs and winning every race. All should be fantastic however Trace along with all the other competitors is convinced that there are dodgy things going on. His relationships continue to be complicated as well. Trace must eventually make some decisions about his own integrity both on the track and off. Again a good read with an unsatisfactory ending. Will there be more??

This is the story of teen race car drive Trace Bonham. He's become an overnight success as a driver, but he's worried that it is not because of his driving. Lately, fans have been yelling,"Cheater!" at him. He is sure his engine man is doing something illegal with his engine. So he is wrestling with whether he just wants to win or win ethically.

I gave it 5 stars because to me it was amazing. I don't think there is a single book besides these 3. They are all just like me. There all about Wissota dirt track racing in the midwest. Thats right where I live. They go to all of my home tracks and my home town.
