He claims he is innocent and being framed but nobody-not even his father-believes him.
When Matt's charges are upgraded to murder, he finds an unlikely ally in Bobby Ross, a tenacious investigative reporter with a Toronto newspaper.
Meanwhile, Kelly Griggs awakens alone in a cold, dark room, held captive and tormented by The Pallbearer. She scrambles to find an escape before her captor exerts his twisted desires.
Slowly, dark secrets from the past are revealed, and the present becomes clearer. Can Hannah solve the mystery and save Kelly before it's too late?
This was an awesome read. The twists and turns and the details are spectacular. I loved the short chapters which made me want to read more. I liked not knowing the ending ahead of time. A fabulous book from a first time writer. Hopefully she will write another one.
Absolutely great book filled with twists and suspense. Just when I thought I had it figured out, boom not at all. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.
The Pallbearer is a fantastic crime story that is enjoyable and captivating. The book is full of twists and turns and driven by compelling characters. I felt like I was right there with the investigators and found it hard to put the book down. What an incredible first novel and I really hope there are more to come. Well worth the read.
Not a bad first novel for this local writer. A nice plot twist and just enough accusations against wrongfully accused before the truth became clear. I have to admit that I was, for some reason, oddly spooked by all the familiar place references in the story, having grown up in the area, but that was not necessarily a bad thing. It probably added to ‘the creep’ factor. Well done, Christa! #1393.

What a wonderful adventure. Great characters and a fast paced plot. It kept me guessing until the very end. This author has talent and hope she keeps publishing.
