This story was such a sweet surprise. It is a mystery and an adventure. The characters are well developed. The genre is that of the "My Friend Flicka" series, but more from the perspective of the young people in the story. This book is definitely a new favorite of mine! I found my copy at a thrift store! I had to immediately find other books by this author and can't wait to read "The Blue Runner" and "The Last of the Wild Stallions!"
