Choosing to be a surrogate for an alien race wasn't a hard decision for Katrina Paxton. Framed for a murder she didn't commit, the former FBI agent had a choice between prison and becoming a mom. Helping to repopulate a dying planet sounded ideal to her.
Best friends for eons, the idea of sharing a female seemed perfectly natural to Daven and Shade. When they met Katrina, it was nothing short of miraculous. When horrible accusations from a past Daven doesn't remember and can't dispute threaten their hard-fought happily ever after, can Katrina convince him to let her in?
With his fate hanging in the balance and their bright future quickly becoming a distant memory, Katrina and Shade race against the clock to clear their stubborn, sullen alpha's name or lose everything. And Katrina refuses to lose again.
Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
Nightflame Dragons series has been one of my favorite series to get into, love the story and the characters. Milly's talent just shines through. Hot dragons and sassy female.
When your past is dark not remembered you try to move on the best you can, whether it's fighting off nightmares or keeping yourself at arm's length from the ones that care about you.
So anything is better than prison even dealing with a grumpy dragon right? I bet Katrina dreamed of being a GI Joe instead of barbie she's full of sass and not afraid to show it. She is one of my favorite heroines.
In this story, we still fighting rogues and betrayal while trying to keep the peace and bring everyone together. The story melted into a smooth flow of danger, love, moving on and healing. loved it . Enjoy
Book 3 of the Nightflame Dragon series by Milly Taiden Katrina is a human surrogate but on earth she was in law enforcement and was currently looking after a witness in protected custody. Emily saw her family killed by the mob and was only witness but the day Katrina was suppose to give her over to other agents something wasn’t right and she went into hiding with Emily. Katrina woke up with Emily dead and police were accusing Katrina so with possibility of life in prison or become a surrogate to rebuild a alien race Katrina picked surrogacy. As soon as she stepped foot in the Dragon Clan house Shade and Daven knew she was there mate. So Shade and other dragons stole the human females before they were supposed to go to wolf clan to become mates. I absolutely love that Katrina is tough as nails and takes no shit from anyone especially her overprotective mates. I really like that Katrina and Daven both had complicated pasts and both were missing parts of there memories but decided to push through to sort of the missing pieces and to start a new chapter together. Loving this series and the multiple mates makes thing very interesting. My only issue at the moment was the amount of whimpering Katrina did when together with her mates but otherwise very hot sexy scenes between all three. Great HEA.
New beginnings, moving beyond your mistakes and finding love. Katrina has fallen for her new mates Shade and Draven but Draven needs to let go of the past to find a new future and it seems he isn’t the only one. This is an action packed sexy story that will leave you gasping.
This is an OK shifter romance, with likable main characters. It features the typical shifter instalove, and two hot dragon shifters who find a mate to complete their triad. I liked that the dragons lived on another planet, as it allowed for a lot more creativity in the story. I would have liked a little more backstory on the characters, though, especially on the dragons and their world.
Shade, Daven, and Katrina were all mostly likable, but Daven was pretty hard to like at first. He had reasons for his behavior, but he should have explained them to Katrina. Since he didn't, she thought he just didn't like her. It also seemed like they were all more in lust than in love. I think they did spend quite a bit of time together before they claimed her as their mate, but that was kind of skipped over in the story. I might have believed they were in love if that time together had been included.
My main complaint is that all of Milly's stories are a bit too explicit for me. I like hot sex in romances, but I would prefer it to be a little less descriptive and dirty. I am not a prude, but the really explicit stuff is just not romantic to me. But I will continue to read Milly's writing, as it is entertaining and fun.
One other thing bothered me about this book, and it is minor, but it is a pet peeve of mine. When a book describes how the characters look, the cover art should have models that fit that. For example, one of the dragons in the triad in this book is described as having long auburn hair -- but both men on the cover have short dark hair. Can't the models at least put on a wig for the picture?
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Katrina Paxton a former FBI Agent, is a surrogate to a pair of dragon shifters………. Shade and Daven have been paired with a female human a former FBI officer that had left earth after the loss of a young witness she had been protecting having been murdered and she had taken the one option available to her to become a surrogate for one of the shifter races that had lost all of their females and their ability to mate and have children. Both of the dragons had themselves suffered during the loss of their mates and their youngsters and it was something that had left them scarred but they were prepared to commit to the former FBI agent, she was strong and brave and she loved them both over their time together both Shade and Daven had fallen in love with their female. Arden appears as though he is no matter Cedric and the Blood Moon pack have been trying to stop the alliance and now they have tried to attack implying that he had been a murderer during his missing memory when he has been accused of killing a whole village, his dragon had attacked the wolves who’d killed his family and children along with the rest of the village. Arden had introduced Katrina to Bless and his two daughters Astra and Ariel and she had been able to help him as he went through the true facts of the day Bala and his brother Weldon had attacked the village it had been mere luck that Daven had been there and had killed the soldiers however Bala had escaped. As the group all pulled together and as they were able to help their mate Daven to clear himself it soon became apparent that they were all going to be a mating triad and that they would endeavour to build a long and happy life together. I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Dragon's Bounty is the third book in the Nightflame Dragons series. This time it's Katrina, Shade & Daven's turn to find their happily ever after.
After Katrina was accused of a murder she didn't commit, she was given a choice. Spend the rest of her life in prison or 'volunteer' to go to Daeria to be a surrogate mother for a pair of dragon shifters. She met Shade when the Nightflame dragons picked up the four surrogates from their hotel. She was attracted to him right away, but she didn't know how to reach his partner, Daven. How could they form a bond when Daven wouldn't even stay in the same room as her?
Shade & Daven were royal dragon guards, part of the law enforcers for the Nightflame dragons. They had been best friends since their time in training & knew they'd share a mate. But Daven's past has kept him cut off from almost everyone else, including Katrina. When Daven's past comes back to haunt him, would Shade & Katrina be able to help him clear his name?
After reading the first 2 books, I was curious to see how Shade's story would play out. I'm happy to say it was as good as I'd hoped, though I had hoped to find out a little more about Shade's past. All three of the main characters have something about them or in their past that haunts them. All are strong, proud characters & it's interesting to see how they interact with each other when it comes to their problems. The plot line kept my attention throughout & I couldn't wait to see what happened next. All in all, this is a great book for a quiet evening's read.

I actually liked this better than the two that came before. It had more action, and the running plot is finally unfolding more.
As with the story before we got what happened before Katrina became a surrogate and was given her choices, one of which was to join the surrogate program. She was an FBI agent who was accused of murder. She knows herself enough to know she didn't do it, but she has no memories of the moments when the person she was protecting came up dead.
Daven has something in common with Karina on the lack of memory score. After his mate and children were killed, he has a part of his memory missing and is now being accused of murder.
With the help of his pack and with ideas from the women, Madden creates a pill to help gain your lost memories. Thank goodness.
The revelations and a secret mission with Shade and Katrina, helps move the plot along with our dastardly villain. I can't wait to see how that is going to play out.
Also, I liked the fact that doubts were raised about multiple people mating. It goes to show that this wasn't the norm before the war. I just wish I knew how it was possible now.
Katrina's life in the FBI was over. Maybe even her freedom. She didn't commit the crime but someone had made it look that way. Now her choice was prison or becoming a surrogate on an alien planet to help them repopulate after a horrible war. The choice was easy--even before she joined up with two--count them--two of the hottest men she'd ever seen. Not such a punishment after all.
Daven and Shade were best friends who shared everything. Now they were going to share a mate who they both swore to protect and honor. She understood all too well when Daven was accused of a war crime he didn't' remember. He seemed to believe that even if he didn't commit it maybe it was punishment for his past.
Shade and Katrina knew he was incapable of the crime. If only he could remember. They determine to find a way. Will they be able to save him from the enemies who want revenge and the people who think he's guilty? Is a future for them possible?
You'll experience steam, love, anger, evil plots and plotters, fighting and loving. A book worth reading again.
Let me tell you a short story about a bada$$ female th I agent sent to become a surrogate to two fine azz dragrons. Who happens to be the king enforcers. Let's start with Shade who is considered a wraift because he has special powers that makes him blend in the shadows and appear invisible what other special talents he has no one knows. Then theirs the bad, grumpy Raven who has and energy that make everyone step away from him. He possess a fearless power. Now you Katrina who can handle both of her mates. When someone tries to destroy their future she takes matters in her hands and set up a trap but only the Voss(Dragon king) and Jericho(wolf alpha ) knew the plan. She told her mates after in motion. They knew they had a stubborn rambunctious woman. She took no carp from anyone and when ambush she showed just cuz I'm human didn't mean I'm without my means. They could not be more proud of their mate. I'm not going to tell you the story just know she breaks down Davens walks and takes names of people trying to hurt her mates. These three are like that!

But that is what I've come to expect from Milly Taiden. She is one of my favorites. Sorry to say (really I'm not) this book is for readers 18and up. It's just too hot of a book.
Katrina was an FBI agent back on Earth. She was accused of killing a teenage girl in her protection. The judge told her she could go to jail or go to Daeria and become a surrogate for a dying breed. Daeria is on another planet and there she meets Shade and Daven. Both are her mates but Daven was mated once and lost her and his children so he’s grumpy and not ready to have a mate. Shade is ready but wants his best friend to share her. Daven doesn’t remember much after his mate died but when a wolf comes forward and claims he took out a whole village, Daven knows he couldn’t have but the must find out what really happened. Great story with dragons, wolves, action, and sex. Katrina can kick butt with the rest of them. Shade has a sense of humor and Daven tries to keep Katrina far away but she’s having none of that.

Really enjoyed the characters in this book and how the background story is progressing. Kat was given a choice, Daeria or prison. Not remembering anything before waking up in the hospital, she cannot contest her innocence. She chooses the surrogate program and is the mate to Shade and Daven. Shade seems the happy go lucky one but has worries due to his interesting heritage. Daven is one of the king’s guard, very serious and is carrying one heavy load of loss and also has a blank spot in his memory which makes him believe he is going rogue. Thought it unfair how Katherine had been treated by the FBI and her colleagues but understandable once you get to the memory potion. Due to what had happened on earth this gave Kat the empathy needed to help Daven with his past. Read through KU.
This was book 3 for this paranormal, reverse harem, romance novel series and I'm honestly still reading because I do like the the storyline. The interactions with the villain of this series keep me interested and I'm ready for the next book to finish up the series. They are quicker reads, which I don't mind, because I'm not spending weeks getting through a series, and for this series, I really enjoy the world building. The romantic relationships are cute but nothing over the ordinary, although I do like that each of the "surrogates" are not the typical 'damsel in distress' type of MC that you normally find in some romance novels. This is not necessarily a recommendation, but so far this 3rd book has been the best out of the series, till now. From one book nerd to another, happy reading!
Katrina was an FBI agent in Earth. She was framed for a crime she didn't commit. The Surrogate program was a new beginning for her. But her past is covered in mystery. Katrina can't remember what happened that night.
Daven is in a similar dilemma. He has holes in his memory about what occurred during the war. He feels incomplete. He feels unworthy of a mate.
Shade is the mate in the middle. He and Daven grew up together. He has no problems bonding with Katrina. He helps Katrina coax Daven into accepting their bond. All three must be a united front to confront the drama and antics coming their way.

This is Shade , Draven and Katrina’s story . Kay is accused of murder and her choices are jail or to be a surrogate to an alien race . She chose surrogate since she has always wanted to be a mother . Shade is ready and willing to mate her right now but knows that Draven must stop backing away from her or there will be trouble . Katrina cannot seem to control herself and forces Draven’s hand for him to man up and mate with her or walk away . This story is so good that I want to keep writing about it but I do not want to take anything away from this amazing author ! This is well written and recommended to everyone !!
This is Book 3 in the Nightflame Dragons series. Katrina was an FBI Agent who was framed for murder. She as given the option to be a surrogate mother on a dying planet. So that’s how she met Shade and Daven. There’s a lot of action going on throughout the book and it grabs your attention from the start to the end. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading the first books, so you have all the background info on Arden. It’s a short read that gets you hooked just like a longer story would so go get it and start reading! You will regret it if you don’t. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Booksprout.
Fantastic continuation to the series. Jam packed with plenty of action, deceit, intrigue, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. Katrina was the epitome of what a female heroine is supposed to be she can kick butt with big dog. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series. I received a free copy via Booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Katrina and Daven’s Relationship is off to a rocky start. They are mates, but Daven is letting events from the past get in the way of finding happiness. Katrina is no pushover and can hold her own with the shifters even as a human. Daven respects her but he is keeping his distance to protect her. Shade is pretty laid back and seems to feel that the situation will work itself out.
Both Katrina and Daven will learn the truth of their past. Arden is still going to be a problem.

Loved this story of Daven, Shade and Katrina. She was super strong and not coming off as bitchy strong. She was a fighter who is missing some of her memory same as Daven. My heart broke for Daven when he went through his hypnosis. I really enjoy shifter stories where they can “feel” their mate and once they have a mate bite they can telepathically communicate and even share some of their power with their mate.
Katrina is chockful of awesomeness and a female less like a damsel in distress you'll never meet!
Katrina is enjoying getting to know ONE of her mates, pity the other one is a bit...grumpy. But then not everyone has to deal with not only the loss of a mate and children, but almost an entire village!
The Rogues are still circling, causing havoc for the surrogates and their mates. Betrayal comes from unexpected places sometimes. The deadliest enemy is sometimes the one you least expect!
While I enjoyed book 3 better than book 2, there still seems to be something missing. I'll keep reading as I do like the storyline. Kat, loved her basses attitude. Shade, would have loved more background on how his parents came to be together, and what other special skills he has, did his wraith side get him into trouble growing up, just more character development. Daven, had more background info and you can understand his attitude towards Katrina in the beginning.
Nightflame Dragons no 3 has Katrina mating with Shade and Daven. Kat and Daven both have missing time in their lives where killings have occurred. She is accused of killing a witness and he has no idea what he has done but feels broken and undeserving. She manages to break through that and connects with him and also with Shade all while trying to deal with council issues. A good tale with interesting characters that I thoroughly enjoyed
Choosing to be a surrogate for an alien race wasn't a hard decision for Katrina. Found guilty for murder, the former FBI agent had a choice between prison and becoming a mom. Helping to repopulate a dying planet sounded ideal to her.
Being a surrogate for two hot aliens comes with some challenges that she will need to face if she wants a happy ending.
omg, two hot shifters find their mate. a very entertaining author who gives us complex characters, and the plots keep you coming back for more. they have to fight for their love. this author is a joy to read and i always try to get her books when they come out. i am voluntarily reviewing an arc gifted by the author with no obligation.
This story kept your attention, was easy to read and well edited. Great third story in this series and hope it will have plenty to follow. If you like a little mystery, great characters, adult "romance" and standalone books in a series this series is a great place to start.
I love this series. It's so endearing. The only thing I don't like is the steam isn't all that wonderful. It's a take it or leave it kind of thing. To me even if the story is great and has good flow, if the steamy part is lacking then it definitely interferes with the story.
Even though these stories have different couples they still need to be read in order. The story and plot is ongoing.
I absolutely love this authors stories and this series is great. Katrina agrees to go to their planet to help out their dying specied by being a surrogate to get away wasnt that hard of a decision. When Daven and Shade see her they know shes their mate. Of course there are dangers and threats and now they need to trust her. Just really great.
Arden continues to underhandedly sabatoge the council. Katrina and her mates bond. Bala acuses Daven of slaughtering his village. Madden hypnotized him and finds the truth. He also hypnotized Katrina, to find who betrayed her on earth. Daven is hurt in a fight with Bala and Arden's rogues.
Katrina was FBI. Until she was wounded and accused of murder. She couldn't remember what happened. Given a choice of jail or being a surrogate on another planet, she chose the surrogacy. Never knowing she would meet to men that could heal her heart. Great series. I love the back story.
