Aleisha Maree knew she was going to write... well, since forever.
As soon as she could read, she wanted to be that escape for others.
Words pulled her in and held her tight in a world that captivated your soul and took you on a journey.
She crafts sensual, sexy, tantalizing stories that weave together her love for darkness, pure passion, and most of all human emotions which dance on the cusp of your soul.
She's from the South Island of New Zealand born and raised in a tiny but extraordinary village called Wakefield which holds so much more than her heart.
She now lives in the North Island of New Zealand in another village called Wharepapa South with her husband and 6 kids on a dairy farm.
When she's not consumed by those beautiful humans, she's knee-deep in writing, working on another work of art to captivate your soul and mind. To take you to the edge and back again.
She's a dark soul and introvert who loves nature and water, is insanely in love with coffee and reading.
She can always be found with her family with a book in her handbag and the wind in her hair.
Just keep an eye out for all the loud crazy kids, and she will be like right there!

Omg, I absolutely adored Aleisha's spin on Frozen... Aroha is the ice queen and Tawhirimatea is Jack Frost. They are star crossed lovers who have to overcome a great darkness in order to save their land.... and their love.
When Aroha was younger she locked her self away from everything and everyone after a freak accident involving her powers hurts her little sisters and the only thing that stops her from completley losing her humanity is the the boy who visits her....Tawhirimatea. They have the sweetest of friendships, which over time develops into more but gets sidelined when Tawhirimatea has to stay away for longer and longer periods of time while fulfilling his duty as Jack Frost. Unfortunately for them Aroha's Aunt, who is Grief, tries to take over the land they live in and destroy everything they know and hold dare. Aroha and Tawhirimatea have to overcome their pasts in order to save their futures.
Their story is beautifully told and will resonate with you long after the final page.

What would you do if you had a power you couldn't control? Aroha is the Ice Queen and has feared this power for a long time was hidden away from the world and her sister. Tawhirimatea showed her how not to fear what she is. As the years pass and she grows up and has to become queen will she be able to fight what is coming, learn all truth thur many years of lies? Will love be able to conquer all and beat back the darkness? This puts a different twist on the fairy tale we know and love. It will pull you and keep you wanting more. It has everything and more. Can't wait to read what she has next.

I don't have a lot of words but 😬 is my main feeling in regards to this book.
I really, really wanted to like this book but had a few issues- the 1st is that it felt like a direct rip from Frozen. This wasn't just a frozen retelling, in the some places it WAS just Frozen, but with a Maori twist.
My 2nd issue was the flow of the book. To me, it felt disjointed and didn't make an awful amount of sense. I wasn't grasped from the story on the get go.
I really wanted to like this book, I loved the Maori/New Zealand aspects SO MUCH but i will not be reading from this author again. Or this book.

I absolutely adored AM's spin on Frozen. Aroha is the ice queen and Tawhirimatea is Jack Frost. The story is set here in New Zealand and is rich in Maori culture and language which I love.

I highly recommend you read this.

I’m not sure how this made its way way to being published because it was not a good book. There were so many errors that I can’t believe an editor ever saw it. The story didn’t know what it wanted to be and was just all over the place. It was also marketed to me as a Frozen “retelling” but it was more of a blatant ripoff, with famous quotes from the movie included verbatim, and the plot being almost the exact same.

I so badly wanted to love this because it’s set in NZ and had such potential with the Māori myths but it just fell so short of the mark.

A Winter’s Kiss by Aleisha Maree is a wonderful take on a Maori legend. I loved the addition of the glossary at the beginning of the book, it was great to refer back to it and keep track of things.
As I said this is the authors take on a wonderful Maori legend- and Aleisha Maree crafted the legend into a really great paranormal romance! The story is set in New Zealand and is rich in Maori culture and language. The story is interesting and has a bit of a (Disney) Frozen feel to it.
There is drama, a curse, destiny, loneliness, longing, hope, humour, emotion, history, myths/legends, culture, magic, emotion, and romance. Aleisha Maree also crafted a wonderful, realistic and believable ‘world’ in which to base her story. And then added just a dash of spice to heat things up a little.
A lovely story!

Thank you, Ms. Maree!

I wanted to love this book. The story follows the 'Frozen' movie and seems to have come about as part of an anthology. Uniquely, the author decided to introduce Māori characters and change the setting to New Zealand. The blending of a Scandinavian story with the Māori world was a bold idea that I wanted to see succeed. Well done to the author for giving it a go.

Unfortunately, I found that even with an existing storyline as a base, this rendition wandered and lacked coherence. The writing was evocative in places but was completely swamped by basic errors - it would have benefitted from another couple of rounds of proof-reading. For a New Zealander reading the book, there were too many inconsistencies to let go as artistic freedom (like pōhutukawa trees in the mountains).

Overall, the lack of coherence with the mistakes and misspellings overwhelmed any story contained in the book.

An amazing spin on a classic tale. The author really knows how to write a good story and this is no exception. Fantastic characters and perfect world-building. This book is unlike any other.
