Tom: A Child's Life Regained

Rate this book
The subtle stow of a six-year-old boy, whose custody is being fought over by two aunts. Anguish and pathos is countered by a wonderful sense of comedy.

Bought this quite sometime ago and happened to pick it back up just before the school holidays (largely because it was short). Some important reminders for what is at the core of education and some powerful insight into its barriers; both past and present.

Not sure where you’d come across a copy of this book, as it seems like it may have been quite a small release but well worth the read if you’re in education.

The book description was totally wrong.
The book is about a troubled 13 year old boy and the teacher who helps work through his traumas and past experiences from a broken home, violent treatment by his father and other teachers. Ultimately, through years of work he helps redirect and re establish his life.
