Shy secretary Mark Hanson has a hard time talking to people, especially men. When his building gets a hot new deliveryman, Tim Callahan, Mark is attracted to him right away, but too timid to do anything about it. With the office flirt determined to catch Tim's eye, and the entire office betting on who Tim will ask out first, can Mark find his courage before he loses his chance?
By day, I am a middle school teacher. I spend much of my time grading papers, filling out paperwork, and trying to get 6th- and 7th- graders to read.
When I am not at work, I can generally be found at the computer, dreaming up stories about men falling in love. When I have spare time (which is unfortunately not too often anymore!) I read romance of all kinds. Occasionally I pretend to do housework, but my hubby isn't fooled!
Short and sweet. Mark is the shy, quiet little secretary and Tim is the sweet, hunky good looking delivery guy Add in a few gossipy/helpful/spiteful female co-workers and a you have a cute little story. I would have liked a little more of the dates and development between the two and maybe a little of Tim's POV, but that's me being greedy.
This is cuteness times baby bunnies. Shy, awkward secretary falls for handsome delivery guy. They bumble their way into falling in love. Everything was polite and nice. Meh, don't think I was quite in the mood after reading something intense prior. 2.5 stars.
3.5 stars!! Oh, gosh, what a cute, CUTE story!! I truly enjoy the mousy shy Mark and the sexy delivery man, Tim, as they go from the first meeting to the date and love making. It's a short story but sweet as hell. Definitely bring out a smile to my face
Shy office worker Mark is wooed by the hot new delivery driver Tim. The evolution of their relationship was believable for a short story and really romantic. Like realistically romantic with all the first date and first move flutters that make a romance a romance. Tim is totally swoonworthy and Mark can pull off the 'shy boy with low self esteem' well without being pitied.
Loved their HEA and little Tim special gifts to Mark.
Mark is a shy secretary who get tongue-tied every time sexy delivery man Tim comes into his office. But of course Tim and Mark do get their date, and as they say, the rest is history!
I enjoyed the other Cassandra Gold short I read so thought I’d try this one. Mark is a secretary for a law firm and while he gets along fine with women, socially with guys he’s pitiful. Tim is the new UPS (he wears brown, what else could he be?) delivery guy who is HOT. Mark of course acts like an idiot every time Tim shows up. The other secretaries start betting on who Tim will ask out first. Mark’s friend bets it will be him but the one secretary who is very sure of her “assets” scoffs at the idea. After several weeks Tim asks him out. Mark won’t let his friend tell anyone though. They go out for about a month but haven’t had sex as Tim is a perfect gentleman and Mark is too shy. Finally with the prompting of his friend he makes a move and they have a smokin’ weekend. Monday at work Tim makes a delivery and it happens all the secretaries are together. The bitch overhears Tim and Mark say I love you and it’s a great comeuppance. I quite enjoyed this story as well. Not rushed (Hi, let’s be in love), Mark was the typical shy goof but it was a cute story with likable characters and I was with Jenny, Mark’s friend, I wanted to tell that bitch after the first date. For 18 pages it was a nice complete story. The cover of that book? Not so much.
A cute short story about a shy, timid Mark and sexy delivery man Tim.
I love the way Tim started courting Mark by "accidentally" leaving adorable items on the young man's desk to brighten up his day.
The story was a bit theatrical and played on many stereotypes, such as the snark-y "Queen Bee" Lisa and perky female best-friend-to-the-main-character Jenny, but it was an entertaining read overall.
This was a sweet short story that was perfect for the mood I was in. Mark is a shy, quiet guy who has little confidence. Tim is a delivery driver who comes to Mark's office. After a few weeks of shy conversation, Tim asks Mark out on a date. They form a nice friendship and slow relationship. Despite this being a very short book. the relationship was written nice and slow and full. By the time Mark and Tim move to a more physical relationship and fall in love with each other, we have only traveled a few short pages, but they have traveled months. It was very well written, and I wish this was longer since I enjoyed it so much. I'd love to see a short story about them down the road getting married and having kids (I can just imagine these two would be great husbands and fathers). :-)
A delightfully sweet short. Mark, a shy and socially challenged secretary to a law partner, and Tim the handsome and self-assured delivery guy were a fun pairing. Nice, quick read.
Cassandra Gold is one of my favorite authors. I love how she writes romance. Between her unique and well-written heroes and her fast-paced stories, I’m hooked on them from start to finish.
What I really liked about this book was the main hero, Mark. He is a sweet, intelligent, shy man who enjoys his job, but wishes he had someone to come home to. When the new delivery man, Tim, begins dropping off packages to him, Mark becomes instantly in lust and fascinated with him. But Mark every time Tim talks to him, to his horror, Mark manages to fumble his words or usually do something embarrassing around him. Plus, Mark believes the sexy delivery man is straight, so he knows he has no chance.
When his co-workers have a bet on who can get Tim to go out with them, Mark just knows he has no chance, but when a friend bets on him, he’s both horrified and a little bit flattered that she thought he might have a chance with the sexy Tim. Will Mark be able to shallow his shyness and talk to Tim?
I thought Love, Delivered was a gem of a short story. It’s fun, funny and has some romantic moments between Mark and Tim that I really loved. I enjoyed watching Mark finally get up the courage to be himself around Tim and loved how Tim wooed him as well as his patience with him. Love, Delivered has just the right amount of sweetness and romance to satisfy the pickiest of readers. My only gripe is: I wish it had been a longer story. I, of course, am totally selfish because I love Ms. Gold’s work and never want any of her stories to come to an end…lol.
If you are looking for a quick, hot summer read then Love, Delivered is definitely the book for you!
What a lovely short, sweet contemporary MM romance! Not a huge time commitment to get through this one but definitely worth the effort if you're in the mood for shy, mousey guy triumphs over social inadequecy and the company hussy to win his gorgeous guy! :) Big HEA which had me smiling all the way, character I completely fell for, some nice hot lovin' that wasn't over the top "it's time for the obligitory sex scene now" and a working man's story that really worked IMO. Recommended with a glass of wine and a big AW! when you need an early night! :D
Short, sweet contemporary m/m romance. Mark is a sweet shy secretary for a high powered lawyer. Tim is the hot new delivery guy. Even though this is a short story things develop over time and you don’t feel as though it is rushed. Grab a glass of wine, a chocolate cookie and enjoy.
