When Molly returns to her birthplace to start a new life, she was sure her old one wouldn’t catch up with her.
But after a run-in with a rotting floorboard at her late mother’s decrepit farmhouse, Molly finds herself face to face with her past.
She also finds herself face to face with the local police sergeant who reminds her what it feels like to be loved. He’s THAT hot! But can she trust him? After all, he is a man and that hasn’t worked out so well in the past.
And when her past and present collide, she has to fight to save herself to make certain she has a future. Far Horizons is book one in Emma Powell’s Love on The Land Series.
Emma Powell, author of all things, romance and funny and female lives in Melbourne, Australia with her human kid and fur babies. Her hobbies include, chicken chips, reading, true crime docos, politics and sleeping. Her other career is as a theatre actor which she has done for the last three decades. So as an actor and a writer she is able to do what she loves best - tell stories.
Molly returns to her hometown and the first person she meets is the hot police officer. This book has it all, danger, liberation, joy, and laughter. Highly recommend.
Loved this second-chance country novella from Emma. Warm, engaging and with a little bit of mystery. The relationship between Molly and Jack and his son is beautiful. Highly recommend.
Molly was in an abusive marriage and finally escaped from Tony, heading for a distant location where her mother had grown up. She found the house, dilapidated and surrounded by nothing but dry dirt. Heading into town, she is pulled over for speeding by Sgt. Jack, and as they keep crossing paths, a relationship develops. She is teaching sixth graders and his son is one of them. The characters are terrific, with great backstories, like the friend of her mother, who is also her boss at the school. The storyline has drama, surprises, suspense from her ex, deep friendships, addictive kids and steam forming. Loved the chemistry between Jack and Molly, along with their banter and perfect timing of him finding her in trouble. The ending was perfect and I can not wait to read more by this author.
