An interesting revelation from the straightlaced Victorians, these stories are as smutty as any produced in today's ostensibly more sexually liberal culture. The title story is a relatively repetitive BDSM story, not quite as brutal as de Sade, but quite racy. Once you read the first part of the title story, however, you might as well stop, because the second part features the same activities, just including progressively more people, until the culmination where a mother and daughter are forced into incest.

The other stories are a mixed bag, some pretty good and some poor. Probably my favorite was the obligatory lesbian boarding school orgy. The worst was one set on a train, where it didn't seem that much erotic really happened.
