Second Chance

I loved this second chance story. It's not a typical "second chance at love" but a second chance for a different life than what the main characters thought their life would be.
I liked the hints of danger woven throughout the romance and the love the Chance family shared. I especially enjoyed the redemption element.
Truly, a delightful and quick read.

I loved this short and sweet story as much as I loved the first one by Cathy Marie Hake. I loved continuing to get to know all the Chance brothers and I especially loved the ending.

I absolutely love the novels wrapped around the Chance brothers! This one was my favorite novel about Titus Chance, who was my favorite Chance brother. The story starts with Alisa Worthington who discovers she has an inheritance coming her way, but runs away after being accused of murder. Titus Chance rescues the penniless girl and takes her back to the Chance ranch where she's hired to help his sister-in-law. As they see each other everyday, Titus can't help falling in love with the girl who he only knows by name. Alisa can't tell him about what happened back in San Francisco and wrestles with her feelings for him. When a reward is posted out for Alisa, two outlaws kidnap her and Titus rescues her yet again. They both discover that she isn't responsible for her grandmother's death and that a man who once despised her, now loved and wanted her in his life, along with Titus.

Interestingly, this is the second in a series of six books about the Chance Brothers (of course, there are six of them). All six stories are included in an anthology called "The Brides of Chance." As I read through this book, it was obvious that I was coming into the middle of a story. Though this can be read stand-alone, I understand everything much better after reading the first one. The book are:

One Chance in a Million, by Cathy Marie Hake (Gideon's story)
Second Chance by Tracey Bateman (Titus' story)
Taking a Chance by Kelly Eileen Hake (Paul's story)
Last Chance by Cathy Marie Hake (Daniel's story)
Chance Adventure by Kelly Eileen Hake (Logan's story)
Chance of a Lifetime by Kelly Eileen Hake (Bryce's story)

"Second Chance" by Tracey Bateman
Titus's story. Alisa is running from the Law for a crime she didn't commit. She is on the stage bound for Reliable and meets up with Titus. They are drawn to each other right off. However, Titus had previously asked a girl in town to marry him but she turned him down. Now seeing him with another girl...she wants to change her mind. Things do get a little complicated and cute.

The second novella in the California Chances series is an adorable and adventurous story about Titus Chance and Alisa Worthington. Filled with accusations of murder, bumbling thieves, and a prissy jealous female this story just keeps giving!! I also love being able to continue the story of Gideon and Miriam Chance from the first book. A wonderful read!!

God made another happy ending.

A well written book The way God's guidance was shown was beautiful, the closeness of the orphans, and the love of Titus family.
