Cassie Roycroft is obsessed with serial killers and so it's almost a buzz for her when, upon moving to a new town, she finds herself living just minutes away from where three teenage girls were brutally murdered just two years earlier. That buzz soon begins to die, as Cassie befriends some of the local youths, not least the shy and quiet Sam Pearce, whose brother is in jail for the murders. As Cassie begins to investigate the killings through her job at the local paper, she fast realises that there's a good chance that the police got the wrong guy and the real killer is still out there somewhere, watching and waiting for his next victim.
