Time is supposed to heal all wounds-- but clearly, three years isn't long enough.
Ulmer Fanning is used to fate pulling the rug out from under him. Especially after he caught his ex trying to hop in bed with his best friend. Years later-- he's still jilted.
Until Catriona Petrov falls into his life, and he can't stop his heart from beating just for her.
But fate has a funny way of screwing with happiness, and Catriona has a dark past that might rival his own. It's not a matter of IF they love each other-- it's whether or not that love can withstand his secrets and her skeletons when everything sets their world on fire at once.
What a roller-coaster of emotions this one was. A journey of people who might not be related by blood are are family nonetheless. I loved reading about flint and patty, which I realised they have their own book and I'm looking forward to reading their story, then there is Ulmer and Catriona who are sorta the main characters in this one and are driving the story. They are not only a band of people who make music and a part of one unit. Oh my, flint and patty they are one amazing couple and have me curious for the glimpses we get about their own difficult past. Then there is Ulmer and Catriona, so many curveballs are thrown their way, I didn't think they could make it together. Luella who's a women haunted by her mistakes but strong enough to start afresh. Oh my, if you want to be smacked and shocked and feel nervous about what's gonna happen with a new turn every page, definitely read this one. What a freaking amazing read this one was. Loved loved this one. 💗💗💗💗
I was greatly anticipating the sequel to "Taming the Bastard" and its finally here and it did not disappoint!
I highly recommend reading this after "Taming the Bastard" as you get to learn more about the characters and their backstories while also meeting new ones!
We follow Ulmer in this one and we get to learn more about his character and everything he struggles with. It was a new POV that I wasnt expecting but I enjoyed it. He is a good guy but not the typical "knight in shining armor." He makes mistakes and is very hard on himself. You cant help but root for him and that he gets his head out of his butt, lol.
Some things work out and some things dont, but in the end, you feel satisfied with the ending. Highly recommend!
