Good way to taste a dozen 19th and 20th century Italian authors; and to improve one's Italian at the same time.

I definitely picked up proficiency as I went through the book. Although I can’t believe these are the best short stories written in the Italian language, they were entertaining and gave you a glimpse into the thinking and the attitudes and the world of their times. I would have benefitted if the sections in Italian then English could have been a bit shorter, so I could have the English reinforcement sooner, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

I have moved on to a second one in the same style.

Se avrai la disciplina necessaria per finire questo libro, migliorerai notevolmente il tuo italiano. Le storie sono antiquate e alcuni autori amano molto frasi lunghe. Molte pagine di appunti e vocabolario completano il libro.

A fantastic concept, have engaging short stories available in both languages side by side for study, but, sadly, my Italian has never been up to scratch so I could actually read it...
