This book was a bony chicken. You know the phrase keep the meat, throw out the bones? Well this one had some big bones. I actually tossed the book when I was done to keep others from some of the pop-psych garbage.
So there was some good info and easy to read but not recommended.

Marilyn Meberg is my favorite Women of Faith speaker. Her way of weaving the gospel into every day stories is delightful. Her biblical teaching is clear & concise. Her books are a pleasure to read, uplifting to the soul, encouraging for all & refreshingly non-judgmental with biblical truth spoken very genuinely...she really cares about your relationship with Christ. Will keep this book & read thru it again & again.

It's not bad; I've just read so many better books on the topics she covers. Try Shame Interrupted by Edward Welch.

I have read a few of Marilyn's books before, and, as she mentions in the beginning, much of this book is a compilation of her other writing...I ended up skimming a lot because it was familiar material...but still good stuff.

I was interested in the topic discussion of secrets as it related to thoughts, self-talk, and homelessness of self.
