We went to the track last night, which (as anyone who's accompanied me before knows) inevitably gets me to talking about this book, and this author, and the very real need for everyone present to read this. Like, now. Horse racing, Prog Rock, and uncomfortable familial relationships. All in one concise package. Writ with love.

cleveland railbird-modern version of those velasquez paintings of a dwarf at court. can feel a little airless in moments but that might just be the narrator's headache, and paul's oppressive listing of prog bands. but man, sometimes we are all in a hot car on pearl road.
