A book of poems written for children who do not enter the world of numbers in a linear or abstrct way. A three (3), for example, is seen as "a piece of an eight that got away". Beautiful photographs show children experiencing numbers as they go about their daily lives. Each photogragh or illustration is supported by a short poem linking language to numbers from zero to twelve.
