After a life-changing event , Bella Nova and her family move to the small town of Ojai, California, a strange town with rumors of an apocalypse and even stranger people .
Her hopes for a new start quickly begin to fade when her new high school is just like her old, labeling her as a loner and an outcast. But all that starts to change when she meets Daven Porter, the mayor's son, who finds an immediate attraction to Bella .
But soon, Bella becomes distracted, haunted by not only nightmares of her past , but also by a dark demonic figure who won't seem to leave her alone.
She thinks she's losing it, and this puts a strain on her relationships.
Who is this dark mysterious figure?
Is it just a figment of her imagination?
Most important of all, what does it want ?
*Finding Him is part one of the Unleashing Hell novella trilogy!
Viola Tempest is a dystopian fantasy and paranormal romance author who yearns to expose the truth of those in the modern world: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Her inspiration primarily stems from life experiences, those who annoy her, ex-boyfriends, and the crazy dreams that pop into her head every once in a while.
Unfortunately, I didn't like the book at all. Bella is the complete opposite of a feminist and has already internalized so much problematic stuff for her 17 years. (Or the author?) She is the ultimate pick me girl. Daven seems weird to me and then Bella is also being stalked by an infernal monster that has jet black skin… (White girl being threatened by Black "man"… Seriously?!). The book is less than 100 pages and halfway through I thought I couldn't stand counting all the red flags anymore. I have absolutely no desire to read any of the other books in this series.
To equate veganism with people who do not eat gluten, even though they can tolerate it… The author apparently did not understand what veganism stands for.

I was expecting one thing from the cover and blurb but I feel like I read something totally unrelated. The writing was okay but there wasn't enough detail and background for me. I have to emotionally connect to books to enjoy them and I wasn't able to do that with this one. I'll still read the next one to see what happens because it did end on a cliffhanger.
Would I recommend this? Yes, but to YA.

The FMC Bella was annoying and very naive. She is in high school and promiscuous, constantly makes bad decisions but makes no effort in bettering herself. She jumps at the first cute boy that looks her way and wonder why her relationships end up in the crapper. Daven Porter is the son of the Mayor in town. Popular, Rich, Smart and seemingly perfect in everyway. He's so perfect that I know there is something off with him. He just hasn't revealed it yet.
Now in a new city she is already head over heels in love with Daven. In the midst of this fast paced relationship she keeps having nightmares about a demon by the name of Draven Asmodeus who says he and his family needs her help. Bella thinks she is really going crazy because her past has taught her that no matter what she does; she always make a mess out of things.
I am thoroughly confused. The book was extremely fast-paced and vague on details. At one point they were in high school, and then suddenly it was their 8 year anniversary? This story had a lot of potential but just did not live up to what it could’ve become. I still don’t understand the whole demon in the story. He didn’t seem to have an important part and I felt like we didn’t get to see very much of him.
The main character was whiny, dramatic and fell in love extremely fast. She really lacked depth.
Overall, I wish I would’ve enjoyed this story, but I didn’t. I most likely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Spoiler Alert: Bella Nova and her family have just moved to Ojai, California because Bella shot and killed her serial killer boyfriend and in the county where they lived killing in self defense is not legal. Bella starts a new school where immediately the mean girls start bullying her because the biggest and best guy, Draven, wants to date her. The other girls have been trying to get Draven to notice them and hate that he notices Bella over them. Bella has been having nightmares about a demon type man who claims he is from Hell and he needs her help. She keeps seeing him in mirrors and behind her and everywhere. He has red eyes, is very tall, horns like a ram and is black as night. At the homecoming dance the mean girls ruin Bella's dress and she ends up running home. After falling in bed she hears his voice once more, "Bella Nova, save me." And that is where the story ends. That is why the 3 stars. I hate cliffhangers like this where the story gets exciting and then ends. Beware it's a huge cliffhanger. To me just write the whole book. I chose this book because the cover looked really appealing and the blurb was intriguing. I expected a love story with a monster involved.
While there is a story here, I got frustrated with the maturity level of the girl, the unrealistic time lines and pace of the book, and the fact that the monster is not really even part of the story.
I believe this version of the book, as it stands today should be fleshed out. The way it is now is more like the bones of the story, like a beta-version of the book. The characters and situations are lacking in depth and as a reader, you really struggle to connect and keep track of the timeline. The pace of the relationships is just truely unbelievable and is why I just could not connect to anything or anyone within the story.
Chapter one should be seen as more of a prologue and chapter two actually starts the story properly.
Sadly, I cannot see myself recommending the book - as it stands now - which is unfortunate because the plot has potential.

I love monster and demon books, it’s one of my favorite genres, and I was really excited about reading this book, and now I’m disappointed.
There were several, and some serious, continuity issues with this book. Counties cannot disregard state laws in favor of their own, and since Oregon has laws that protect self-defense the whole backstory is unrealistic and wrong.
How is it that Daven was riding the bus that first morning but then suddenly, he’s “one of the few” with his own car?
The beach scene was as unrealistic as the backstory.
There’s more, but this is enough for my point.
I would recommend to the author that she verify her information before putting it into her book, and have her editors be more aware of potential continuity issues within the story, such as a person not being there one moment and the next he’s suddenly throwing his sandwich down.
This book is getting a generous rating because the concept is still interesting and I am curious enough to want to read the next one.
I have read several books by, Viola Tempest and I think this is one of my least favorite books she’s written. I still gave it 3 stars cuz the story is intriguing but I was so annoyed with Bella by the end of the first book that I’m unsure of whether the rest of the story is worth it.
Bella Nova falls in love so easily with any guy who shows her interest that she doesn’t even care about anything else but the guy and making him happy. I admit I fall in love easily, but I have never been as bad as her with ignoring red flags and putting out at the drop of a hat because I want to make sure he knows i love him. It’s hard to like a character that you would just rather punch in the face for their stupidity and naïveté.
I’m sorry to the author for this review, but I’ve never really disliked a main character as much as I do Bella. I may give the rest of the story a go, but if Bella becomes worse then I won’t even be able to finish it.

A really good read with good characters. Likeable story. 4*.
Bella is representative of many girls trying to find their place in the world. They want to be liked, by boys sometimes, to the point of doing things they aren't comfortable for.
After a horrific event, Bella moves with her family to a new town, a new beginning, or that's what she hopes. She meets Daven, he seems perfect, but is she just falling into the same ole behavior she has before. She starts seeing a monster with horns and it needs help from her.
The town is weird, Daven isn't all he seems I think, and the 1000 year apocalyptic event? I guess I want to see where this goes in upcoming books.

I really wanted to like this book - the cover and the blurb really stuck out to me and I thought it’d be some romance with a monster. I think the book has the roots to be a good read it just needs to be expanded on as it’s too fast paced and gets a little jumbled.. The main character from the start is a pick me girl which I hate as it’s overdone and is way too clingy with Daven (who is also a strange character). I think with a little revision and more explaining, this book could be great as I’m intrigued to know how an ordinary girl can help a monster from what sounds like another realm?

This is not my normal type of book I read, but it was really good. It keeps you interested from the beginning to end. The only problem I had with it was that I did not know that it had a cliff hanger. I usually will not read those until the series is done. But it was a really good book and will be waiting until a couple more comes out and then I will binge read it. I highly recommend this book. It will keep you guessing what will happen next. I even jumped a couple of times because I was caught off guard. That doesn't usually happen to me. It is a good intense that makes you want to keep going. its not my normal read (im not reading a lot of monster). and i loved this book a lot only issue i had with this book was the big clifhanger. so i cant wait to read book 2
Bella is boy crazy she just can’t help herself she meets a boy who shows Bella a lot of attention and Bella is in love but their relationship turns bad very bad and Bella does something that she would never do, now her family packed up and moved to a new town called Ojai that is very weird and mysterious. Bella is at a new school and that’s where she meets Daven and everything is going well until she starts having dreams about a demon from hell. This is a great story I enjoyed it immensely and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I recommend this book.
This was my first book by this author. It was a quick read and kept me engaged. I found the story and characters interesting. This was more of a novella at 79 pgs but it worked. Bella is going through a lot in dealing with her past and now present issues. Of course this has mean girl vibes with some of what she's dealing with. Her new bf, not sure what to think of him yet. I almost feel like there's going to be a twist coming in book two. Is is a ya, closed door romance, which surprisingly was OK and didn't take away from the story at all.

The main female character doesn't really seem to stand for her own self-proclaimed morals. Her thoughts and actions are all over the place and do not seem to line up.
The book itself seemed to be really hurried and rushed I feel like it would really benefit from having the story be longer and more detailed at specific plot points.
The reason that I did not rate the book lower was that I really like the idea of the story and the potential I could see in the story being well done over time.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. This book has some issues there is a comparison with vegans and giving them a stereotype that I didn’t really appreciate. This comes off as first book vibes didn’t put much effort into edits story planning. It is a short book so it will be fast paced but the pace doesn’t seem consistent that I’m lost if the chapter is a day or is it skipping to the next week etc. I’m willing to try the second book as it wasn’t completely bad and has potential
I thought the book moved to fast. The character building was just beginning to create a connection when it ended. I think that Bella is a tortured soul and that must make her subjected to the monster reaching out to her. I’d like to read the next book to find out the what’s and the whys. This book has several adult activities very quickly for such a young character. I received this book free for my honest review.
Bella really annoyed me, but the stuff going on with her makes the story worth going on the ride. She's very needy and she's done something major that it may have cracked her psyche. Her getting with Daven this fast is crazy and my gut is telling me that he may just be part of what is going with her mentally. Cliffhangers suck. LOL On to the next! #HappyReading 💖

Talk about a teaser that will leave you wanting more! I need more! Bella really is just having a rough go at it, and toss in transferring schools with the possibility of being the chosen one to creature of nightmares. Yeah you get the picture. I loved the story telling, I gobbled it right up and was done in about an hour. I seriously can not wait to read book two! Talk about cliff hangers!

i got this book as an advanced copy from the Author, these are my honest thoughts. a sexual teen girl, demon dreams, and murder. not really the vibe i was getting form the cover and summary. I was expecting a strong FMC falling head of heals for the devil or an enemies to lovers situation and wound up with a horny teen having demon dreams. It definitely has room to grow which is why i will be continuing on with book 2 to see how this all unfolds.
I'm not quite sure what to make of this book. It was confusing at times and I had difficulty connecting with the characters. I give 2.5 stars for the plot, but the rest wasn't for me
Conclusion:
Not for me. Others may like it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bella a high schooler always getting the raw end of the deal. Kids can be so obnoxious and such bullies. Boy she’s had her fair share. She’s so easy to get to . The poor monster asking her for help and she herself is struggling . I can’t wait to see what’s in store for ms Bella nova in the next book.
It is a very fast Pace book and you can read it on One afternoon. The story isn't bad but there are a few things that could be more detailed. Still it leaves Open the future for a lot of possibilities, this story can still be very good. It just depende on what happens in the Next book. It has a very "Carrie" feeling to it thougth.
I got this free from the author newsletter. It's not a bad story but I don't really know where it's going. It's part of a 3 part novella series so we'll see if it get clearer with the next part. I think I would like it better as one book instead of 3. Also even though the main character is only 17 I wouldn't consider it suitable for young adults, the blurb doesn't make that clear.
I probably would have rated this book higher had it not just abruptly ended in the middle of a chapter. It has strong bones and I want to find out the answers to some burning questions I have. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Great cover, great plot, intriguing characters. The story grips you and keeps you engrossed until the last page. I need to know what happens next. Check this out.
