Bloodroot is an Alicorn with magic abilities, Aravonte the girl who saves him.
Togther, they have to flee from forces that want to capture Bloodroot and kill Aravonte for what she did. Trying to leave the country where they're not welcome anymore, the two friends find unlikely allies, meeting numerous challenges.
The storyline is sweet, based on the love between a girl and her horse. Add a compelling magical system, beautiful-sounding names JA Stone is famous for, religious fanatics, Kings, and an evil stepmother, and you have the perfect fairytale!
I really enjoyed this book. A highly entertaining read for everyone who likes fairytales and magic.
I sincerely hope there will be a sequel, because the end came all too sudden, leaving my mind stuck in a world of imagination I'd love to explore further!

Fantastic

This is my first time reading one of JA Stone's books, outside of poetry anthologies he has participated in. I fell in love with Bloodroot's character. Bloodroot symbolizes strength, loyalty, and compassion. Aravonte is a powerful female main character, who loves and protects Bloidroot. If you have not yet read JA Stone's work, you are missing out. I encourage readers to delve in.

A believable fantasy realm.

I bought this on a whim and I'm so glad that I did! The book winds you through some dark alleyways where the protagonist meets unlikely friends who help her fight her way toward freedom for both herself and the unicorn, Bloodroot. I enjoyed the author's writing style and how quickly he could put you into the story. I would highly recommend this book!

My favorite book to date from this author! What a great read this turned out to be! The characters were compelling, and I especially felt for Aravonte and Bloodroot, the central characters. Unlikely friends and unseemly enemies, Stone has gathered all of these and more in this tale of harrowing fortune.
I read it at every moment I could fit it into my schedule. Could not put it down! Love it.

Wonderful Fantasy

The story tells of a girl and a unicorn exploring the world together, chased by assassins. There is plenty of tension and drama, with as lot of surprises. The characters are joined by companions along the way, each with their own tragedies and loves.

I'm hoping this is a series.

Nicely done! I enjoyed the fight and magic scenes.

This was a well written tale of magical animals, courageous characters. I loved the nature and abilities of the Alicorn/unicorns. The author has a way with words.
