About the author

Jamise L. Dames is a true Renaissance woman. Author, columnist, public speaker, published songwriter, screenwriter, mentor, and now publisher at New Renaissance Publishing Company, she dons many hats, and seems to do it with relative ease. The easiness, Jamise attributes to passion and independence. “When you love what you do, it isn’t work; it’s a love affair of the heart and mind. When you own yourself, you’re free—and that I am. Free. I’m my own boss. I own 100% of me,” she states.

Having seen her first published work appear in a local newspaper when she was just six-years-old, Jamise has been writing ever since. Dubbed a “Phenomenon”, she’s also been inducted into the Self-Publisher Hall of Fame, and was featured in Self Publishing for Dummies before taking her current position as publisher at New Renaissance.

Stemming from a multi-cultural background, and having lived in many places, including California, Illinois, New York, Connecticut, and Atlanta, her diversity shows in her writing style. Whether Contemporary, Erotic, or Urban fiction, she crafts her characters and stories with flare, promising readers an unadulterated view. “Holding back is holding out, and I want my audience to experience what I write, not just read it,” Jamise states.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Jamise is pursuing a Juris Doctorate. When in the States, she divides her time between the East Coast and the South.

Three the hard way

This is a sequel to “Momma’s Baby and Daddy’s maybe”. I was told this was a standalone book and I do agree that for the most part it was. I wish I had read part 1 only for the history of the characters. I enjoyed all the characters and ample back ground was given to follow the story. My only gripe is a ten year gap that is never explained and left me feeling like no way could that happen, thus bringing my rating down a star. Other than that major hiccup I have no complaints.

Kennedy Jacobs has the best of both worlds a fiancé who is a doctor and a man who makes her toes curls in the bedroom as a lover. When she has to choose she chooses Mr.Successful and everything is all good until Mr Toes Curl drops back into her life and wants to pick up where they left off.

Miranda Daniels has been living the single life. When she meets a handsome renter she decides that being single isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The past keeps rearing its ugly head and her ex Rich seems to have a GPS device hooked up to her. No matter where she moves to he finds her from jail.

Christa Reid has decided after she was hurt by love that love doesn’t live here anymore. You have to pay to play with Christa and the highest bidder wins. What happens when the heart doesn’t listen and she falls in love with yup you guessed it - a married man. The antics she goes through will have you in tears from laughing.

I really enjoyed this novel and would like to check out her previous books. Ms. Dames has the knack for telling a story and the wit to keep you interested and give a chuckle here and there. The biggest drawback was the lack of explaining on the ten year period. Even with gap this was a great story that held my interest from beginning to end. I love the ending, shows real class.

I enjoyed the read with Kennedy, Crista and Miranda as well as the men in their lives. Lots of drama.
