I would recommend this book to people who love to cook like ME.It has a whole lot of recipes. If you like Rachael Ray and her recipes I think you would like this book.If your a kid I think you should ask your parents for permission before you start to cook.
Okay, first of all my kids wouldn't eat Pesto Pit-zas with Spinach & Broccoli or Creamy Tomato-Basil Soup. (This is after all, a kids cookbook).
However, the instructions at the front of her cookbook really turn me off anything by Rachel Ray. I'll quote:
"Don't measure with instruments, use your hands. You're not baking or conducting experiments for the government - just feel your way through.
How to measure Rachel's way: A handful = about 3 TBsp A palmful = 2 TBsp Half a palmful = you to the math A pinch = about 1/4 tsp A few good pinches = about 1 tsp Once around the pan = about 1 TBsp of liquid Twice around the pan - more math: about 2 TBsp, 3 or 4 would be 1/4 cup"
I don't know how anyone can cook consistantly when measuring this way. However, even if you find a way to get used to doing it that way, it's NOT the way to instruct someone else on how to cook something for the first time that they've never made before. I have never found a Rachel Ray cookbook I like for this these very reasons: inaccurate measurements along with recipes regular families wouldn't eat.
If it matters, the cookbook does at least have photos in it of each completed recipe.
Rachel Ray is one of my best cooks all her recipes are amazing and when i follow them thet turn out wonderful and i continue to follow there stuff and when my family comes over i love to bake with them and she's incredible one day i wish i can make my own recipes one day
