Superpower Chronicles #9

Legacy: Superpower Chronicles Book 9

Rate this book
This is the End. I’ve had a really hard month. It started with my mentor, Raptor, dying and it ended… well I don’t know yet, but it looks bad. There is a chance, a small chance, I mean really really tiny, that I can stop the apocalypse before it completely annihilates the city. I just have to beat two different epicly powerful organizations, no sorry three, three different epicly powerful organizations as they battle… Well, technically four epicly powerful organizations if you count the Superhuman Suppression Agency. Well, you could argue five, but group five is working for the first group. So let's keep the number at four, but with an asterisk. I need to battle four* different organizations, each with their own goals of capturing, using, or killing me. If I fail, my death would just get the ball rolling on my problems. My city will be destroyed, and all the people I care about will die. If you enjoy action-packed good versus evil battles, snarky banter, and plucky teenage superheroes who refuse to quit, you will love Raven’s adventures in Legacy, the ninth book of Superpower Chronicles. Perfect for fans of Spider-Man and The Teen Titans. Buy Legacy to kick supervillain butt today!

This was a "end"

It's a end, not a good one, but acceptable. Ravens values, his actions, and his mantra (don't kill) are twisted to help round out a end to this tale. I was hoping for a grand finale, where everything is connected, the plots and characters brought In through the 9 book series would culminate to a mash up similar to the final battle of hogwarts. Instead, it's kinda the same stuff as the last 4 books. Nothing is resolved, we don't know who the legacy are or their true goals. we don't know who their true enemy is or their goals. we don't know why there are supers, and why space aliens (yes it was aliens is the answer) gave them this curse/gift. There is magic, there is inter dimensional magic cats, the purge, the confessor thing, Butterfly, school, his dads conspiracy, which is all brushed aside and given a quick mop up at the end. I'll say this whole story about stepping up and being a hero kinda fell flat. The jackal issue is still there, the SSA problem and their evil dehumanization of supers is still an issue, raptors biotech company issue, and the quare/worm issue was just glossed over. It's a story about compromise, and he compromised on the story. I wish the author would've thought it through a bit better, but this is what we got.

I rushed to read Arthur Mayor’s eighth tale of Raven, high school student by day and superhero by night. Legacy (ebook) ends the three book tale of an impossible night. Ryan’s mother was kidnaped and had to be rescued numerous times. Worse she knows his hero identity. There’s a nasty plot with a gas that turns people into Zombie-like killers. And a lot of super villains far more powerful than he is. His small group have to somehow learn to work together and keep out of the reach of the SSA. Very exciting. I’m glad for some resolution, though obviously the story continues.

Oh my WORD, that thing with the .. and then that... I have to sit down for a bit, maybe take a vacation for a week or two! I wasn't sure that I'd make it through that fight with Malice.

I binge-read my way through this entire series in 12 days, and that was only because I had to go to work on 10 of those days. This series is FANTASTIC!

The author has closed a couple of doors on the current storyline but has opened a whole bunch of windows, so I think, HOPE, that there is still plenty more story to come.

Feeling of love and hate here. I'm loving the characters in general. Ryan is really well developped, and to go on with other volumes, I'm sure we'd get to know more of Ballista and Flare as well. However, I found the ride through the 9 books a bit too complicated. I think the whole story could have improved with at least one less group of villains. It would have been easier to follow who's who and who's affiliated with who.

Great book

Keep writing. I can't wait for the next issue. Kind of want to see the new and funded guard looks like. Don't end the series yet. You tied up a lot of loose ends but left a lot of questions for continuation. Please continue.

I enjoyed the hell out of this series

If you like superhero novels, you won't find any better than this series. High-end plotting, and so much non-stop action it will make you dizzy.

A perfect ending

Easily the best superhero series I’ve ever read. The setting, characters, story and action leave nothing to be desired. Cannot wait for what comes next in this series
