Rate this book
Chiyo's father's company is being targeted, and she considers her options. Should she help him? The only problem? There is a dark enemy on the other side who wants her dad's company and wouldn't mind taking a bite out of Kaiden, either. Chief is more integrated than he was before and far more fragile due to his neural link with Kaiden. Kaiden and Chiyo been provided a job opportunity, but they will need extra support. Will they be able to call on their friends, or will they need to hire contractors? Will Chiyo's efforts help or hurt her dad? — You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. In the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer. Kaiden Jericho would rather skip the death part, thank you very much. Join Kaiden as he learns about Nexus, the Animus, and the opportunities that one fight brought him. Never has helping someone benefitted him so much. The future is looking bright, except for the pain. "I tried to not read this in one sitting but I failed miserably." - Mental (From The Initiate ) "It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories." - JMN4555 (From The Initiate ) "This series is already sucked me in pretty hard." - Amazon Customer (From The Initiate ) "Probably my favorite book I have read in the last couple years and I read constantly." - wuxia fan (From The Initiate )

Love the addition of the origin stories

I really love that Michael started adding the origin stories to the end of each boom so that we can understand the back stories of the major characters. If this is the first of the Animus books to pop up in your suggestions, start from the beginning, you won't be disappointed. Then go read all his other books. Every one is worth your time.

All action

Exciting times ahead as the adacemy seems to spend more time out of it then inside doing missions.
As a closing game seems to be closer then ever before and the shadows lighten to reveal more about the once faceless enemy we see more of the action and drama we love. Great read as usual

Good story!!

Good action, good characters. Kaiten is a bit too much, but he is a good guy and we all want good guys to be more than normal. Dumb question do normal people ever get in these situations? Answer. It's always normal people.

An Excellent Saga Continues

If you haven't started The Animus series I strongly recommend it. The writing is tight, with great characters that continue to grow and great action. I cannot recommend it strongly enough.

Another excellent installment in the series

Things are coming to ahead. The shadowy AO organizations is coming out of the dark, whether they want to or not.
Love all the characters and I love the dark humour in this series. I look forward to reading about the alien threat that has the arbitrator organization so scared.
I can't wait for the next one 😀

Outstanding!

I’m really enjoying this series! The characters are relatable in spite of their enhancements, their relationships are evolving nicely and the storyline is engrossing. Bravo MA!
