Sammie Davis’s life is constant chaos—which is exactly the life that Marie Morgan wants for herself.Marie Morgan, a single mother of two, is currently separated from her husband. One day on the way to work, Marie befriends Sammie in an Atlanta subway station. With her short skirts, high heels, and occasional birdcage hairdo, Sammie is everything Marie is not—fearless, brazen, flamboyant, and completely sure of herself. A woman who flaunts her wild unconventionality, Sammie exudes self-confidence and dares to laugh at life. Marie feels empowered by her new friend, and Sammie is always there whenever Marie feels the urge to be a little wild. But beneath her facade of bravado and sexual abandon, Sammie conceals her own deep pain and a dark history that gradually comes to light. A powerful novel about the doubts, insecurities, and low self-esteem that can sabotage our most important relationships, All That Drama offers a fresh, witty, and moving look at women's issues, and the sisterhood that can also sustain us through life's toughest times.

ONE OF MY PRODICTIONS BEFOR I READ THE BOOK I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE ABOUT TO GIRLS AND HOW THEY DINT GET ALON. MY PRODICTION CAME TRUE A LITTLE BIT BECAUS IT DO HACVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH GIRLS.
ONE CONNECTION WAS WHEN SAMMIE WENT HOME AFTER THE CLUB AND SHE WAS THINKING TO HER SELF LIKE WAT HAPPEN WAT HAVE SHE DONE CUZ SHE WAS INBARESD. IN SOME TIMES WHEN I DO SOMETHING I BE CONFUESED ABOUT WAT I DID IN WHY I DID IT. ONE TXT TO WORLD I HAD WAS SOME PEOPLE HUSBENS TRIE TO TELL THEM WHAT TO DO IN WHEN TO DO IT. LIKE IN SAMMIE RELATION SHIP.SAMMIE HUSBEND TRY TO TELL HER WHAT TO DO ALL THE TIME IN I KNO SHE GETTING FEAD UP.
One visualization i have is when Marie in davied was dancing in they were very clost inthey were talking about how they havent seen each other in a long time.Marie in Davied went to Marie house to put the kids to bed in afeter they did that Davied lef in then came back in when he did him and Marie got to catch up on a whole lot in he was telling her how he missed her. This helps me better understand the text becausewhen i visualize whats going on it helps me to get to kno the charecters more in how they fill aboiut each other. And howthey are taking care of the perdicament they are in an how they taking care of it.
One inference I made while reading is,That marie was going to sleep with dennies.I made this infrence because in the book it states any idea I had about having sex with him went straight out the window."we tore off each others clothes then headed upstairs"(142).
One thing i enjoyed about this book is the characters I choose the characters because I Like thay they find ways to get through stuff. When they learn to love they learn to live.my favorite character is sammie and marie chose them because they are the ones had to go through alot of stuff they are the ones who had to take care of things. when they do things the make it they business in not no body els.like sammie when she had to strip she didnt tell her mom or ran to her dad she just dealt with it.I Like marie because she was the one who kept it onehunet with davied in her slef even thogh she was hart every time she talked about what was going on.I said this because in the text it states"you know what make me so mad?My family thinks im wrong to divorcehim(119).....on cue, sammie jumped up from her audience and yelled,"Hey party over here!"(46).
I gave this book a rating of five stars because thins is a good book in I think that some one would want to read this book because of how good it is and what they can get out of.I learnd that my dislikes can turn out to be my likes because their were at lest two things i didint like about this book intell i had countiunal reading to understand the charecters in the arouther in why she wrote this book in were she got her fillings from in what she got out of it. I the next book I want to read is a book something similar to this one because I tough my self to like diffrent books in novels. This is some of the things i like about this book in how it can make diffrent people feel.
All That Drama is exactly that...DRAMA! As a black female who used to be in the middle of my friend's shenanigans, this book brought those days back to life. Marie Morgan is a strong black woman who decides to leave her no-good husband and move home to assist her mother after the unexpected death of her father. Sammie Davis has the air of a ghetto fabulous sista with a plan in life that is until you really get to know her. The two ladies meet during their morning commute to work while having a knee-buckling laugh at Marie's expense. They become quick friends even though they are polar opposites and the drama they encounter because of the men in their lives is so real that I had to stop and ask - Has Tina talked to my friends?
Marie is in the process of divorcing her husband and falls into the club scene: dressing sexy, staying out all night, and dancing until sweat covers her from head to toe. That is, until she spots an attractive and respectful gentleman, Norman. Their courtship is a textbook romance until questions about Norman's background and intentions come up. Using her sixth sense, Marie attempts to back away from the relationship, but it may be too late.
Sammie has always lived life on the edge. Let's see, she is a mother of two kids, married and moves across country all before the age of 18. After years of being physically, emotionally and sexually abused by her husband, her life changes completely when he is arrested. Sammie steps into the club looking like a million dollars or so she thinks, falling for the first man who pays her any attention. Will she allow her new man to break up her friendship with Marie?
McKinney shows the world that she knows drama. This fast-paced novel draws you in and keeps you riveted to the actions of these friends. This book was refreshing in the sense that it was reality-based with a comic twist. The ending totally took me by surprise. Can you say drama to the 10th degree?
If you are looking for a book that is full of DRAMA this book is for you. All That Drama offers a fresh, witty, and moving look at women's issues, and the sisterhood that can also sustain us through life's toughest times.
Sammie Davis and Marie Morgan are as different as night and day. Their friendship bond is very strong. Marie is a single mom, separated from her husband. Sammie is her own victim in many ways than one allowing men to mistreat her. They both have their share of drama and lots of it.
This book had me laughing out loud. I can picture the activity in the book being played out while reading. This was better than watching a reality show The words in book to describe someone (DXXX WEED, DR. DUMB AXX, ETC) had me rolling. I don’t know how I missed this series. This is book one in the series and I will be starting book two Lawd Mo’ Drama right now.
I highly recommend this book to all. You will truly enjoy.
Tina Brooks McKinney's "All That Drama" takes stock in the lives of two very different women - lives with struggles, hardships and regrets. Marie is a hardworking, recently single, mother of two who moves from Baltimore to Atlanta for a new beginning. Sammie is also a mother of two, but she is involved in a dysfunctional, mental and physically abusive marriage. A time, a reason or a season...something brings these two women together and their lives are never the same.
Driven by an act of violence, readers are taken back in time to understand the present. Tina Brooks McKinney's debut novel is well-written, at times humorous, and as indicated by the title, full of drama. I was so caught up in the lives of Marie and Sammie that I hated to see it come to an end. Entertaining and thought-provoking
Very good book. Marie 's story is captivating from beginning to end She was the one who warned her friends about trifling men. She even Managed to avoid continuing relationships with trifling men. She ended it with her husband, David, and Dennis. She put her kids first and did not have all kinds if men around her. She had not been in a relationship since moving to Atlanta. When she finally gets into one its with crazy Norman. You would have expected Sammie to end up dead with all the crazy mess she did. But in the end it was Marie who lost her life.
