I love this twisted series!
King's Men
This is such a good book!
Its emotionally raw and over the top passion and forgotten love.
Snowy and Blake/Brandt were so close 10 years ago but then something traumatic and horrible happened. Snowy finds herself committed to a man who she does not love but must go through because she is a Hollings. With a drastic and unbelievable turn of events her life is thrown upside down and she is left scrambling for footing in her new world. Secrets are revealed, hearts are broken, and lives are devastated. But she is a Hollings and that's worth something.
I highly recommend this book!
King's Horses
This book devastated me. It was emotionally raw and gutted me. How can this couple go through so much pain and sorrow and survive on the other side
Snow is dragged through the gutter and still she keeps going on and trying to be her best self. She makes decisions based on others needs and never thinking about herself.
Blake needs to hate her, and he desperately tries to, but he loves Snow too much to despise her, but still he tries.
These stories wrecked me. I'm feeling drained. And that is the best compliment you an author can receive, that the reader FEELS the words and the story to their core.

I read and reviewed these books separately.

King's Men

Holy hell

This author just knocked me on my behind. The depth in this book...The secrets...The mystery...mind blown. I wasn't expecting the depth in not only the story but the characters. Seriously, gobsmacked. This takes retaliation and revenge to a whole new level.

There are still so many things to unravel in this story. It's a complex story.I can't wait to dive into the next book. I'll add more to the review when it's not almost 6 in the morning. That's how good this book was.

King's Horses
4.25 stars

I was really looking forward to this sequel because the first book left me gobsmacked. However, this book was missing something. The storyline seemed to be scattered. I didn't understand why certain parts were even in the story (Blake's sister in particular) and the sudden caring of the brothers. The ending also seemed a little lackluster after such a huge build-up throughout this story.

That being said, it was still a very good duet. This author and her stylistic choices are sublime.

Holy smokes this was mindfuckery at its FINEST.
The first book fucked with my head so much… I was so confused and tried hard to make sense of everything. Every time I thought my questions would get answered, I just ended up with even more questions. Book two blew my fricking mind, those plot twists tore me to shreds! Holy flipping shit, even now I’m still in shock.
I devoured this duet in one sitting. I didn’t want to put it down. Blake & Snow had me in a chokehold.
Their story is filled with betrayal, lies, secrets, manipulation, heart ache, pain and soul crushing love.
This was absolutely devastating but also incredible.
I wasn’t ready for their story to end, I already need more.

If you want dark, twisted, thrilling with a bit of spice… READ THIS!!!

King's Men

This book was darkly delicious and as a reader, I had no choice but to buckle up and ride the roller coaster of this book.
I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down!
Snowy is the product of her environment that she was raised in. With a father that was absolutely ruthless and did ANYTHING to get ahead, including using his children, this family learned from a young age that they either jump on the bandwagon or else. She had one real friend growing up, Brand Lloyd and she basically sentenced him to death, which hurt her as well.
Everything is looking up for Snowy, she is about to wed a wealthy man who seems like he might be fairly decent. Then BOOM goes the dynamite and her world is shattered and left in the hands of Blake Lorenz.
Blake is a SHREWD businessman who freakishly looks like her old friend, but that is impossible because he died, right?
He wants to break Snowy, completely. The way he goes about it has me gasping at certain points and jaw-dropped most of the time. Why in the world does it seem as if this guy has a personal grudge against her?
I am in AWE of this book, it is not easy to read and there are definitely trigger elements in this, but if you like dark books-- I HIGHLY recommend it!

King's Horses

Talk about *heart emoji* this book was exactly the type of ending that the twisted King's Men needed.
Snowy and Blake's story in King's Men was anything but sunshine and roses. This entire story stems from Snowy's family and past transgressions and sins. From what has been shown, her father was a vile and cruel man that had no issues working his way up the food chain using anything and everything in his vault to do so, including his family. This is shown even with his sons, Snowy's brothers and how they combat the world.
Blake's behavior in the first book showcases just how much Snowy's father is an awful man. We now know who Blake is and his entire world was shattered by these horrible people, but he did not realize Snowy's reasonings until the end of the first book. No matter how horrible he treated Snowy, I freaking adore the guy. He thought he was getting retribution and even though that is not a great reason, I still get it.
This conclusion is exactly what I wanted to see. This twisted fairy tale has gotten an ending that was just right for the two of them. It was not going to be an easy fix and wrap everything up tightly and add a bow to it, it was going to be so freaking hard.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest and voluntary review

This is a fantastic boxset by Lana Sky!! King’s Men (Book 1) and King’s Horses (Book 2) were complete page turners, that made you want to know more, and really had you vested in the story. Your heart really breaks for Snow. She really endures darkness, loss and tragedy. Ten years ago, tragedy has her losing her only true childhood friend, and love of her life. Someone from her past comes back for revenge, and puts Snow through unimaginable abuse and torture. Many family secrets come to light. Then, in the end, she tries to deal with the aftermath. This is a dark story, with many twists and turns, and I highly recommend this boxset!!!!

I was hooked from beginning to end! Blake and Snow have steamy chemistry; however, their story is a dark one filled with painful memories and lies. Snow would do anything for her father and her family and her father made her betray her best friend. Now he is back for revenge. Will he get it? Intense, emotional and drama filled. These characters have so much depth and their story will draw you in. I loved it! This is the second and final book and I do recommend you read them in order. In this read we learn more about Blake and both of their family history. The story is dark, intense with loads of drama and suspense. The chemistry is steamy and I think both Blake and Snowy really grow during this book. I loved it!

An EXPLOSIVE HOT DAUNTING bundle of THRILLS
Kings Men #1 ... RIVETING! INTENSE! ABRASIVE! HOT!
Bold, brazen and loaded with balls only the kind a strong willed determined Snowy has every right to claim.
Cruel demanding read that engulfs you keeping you hostage bound by fear and the unknown cruel suspense that impedes on your mind body and soul invading every nerve ending infusing me with fits of shivers and a numbing cold with trembling fingers gasping in shock and my poor racing heart that I thought would jump out of my chest being pushed by the explosive drama that had me consuming the words as if my very existence depended on it while torn hating every word but needing to feel more, a revolt and undeniable intrigue that keeps pushing me forward with such desperation I wanted to consume the words yet they were consuming me.  NOW...demanding, commanding a flurry of emotions and thoughts that are to grueling and chaotic to comprehend when my mood shifts from furry to rage to excitement and the want of the unknown as the suspense keeps me on edge unwilling to feed my hungry lust for more as I'm left reeling in a fit of desperation! An explosive must read that will continue to haunt you long after the last word has been read screaming with desperation to to get my greedy hands on the conclusion to this brilliantly written mind blowing read! I ABSOLUTELY FLIPPING LOVED IT!
King's Horses  #2 ... Damnashen & Hellfire👍👍👍👍👍
My emotions were chaotic and conflicting..I was happy and sad, excited anxious with peeks of fear always on alert as the unexpected twists kept getting more unexpected completely throwing me off kilter filled with rage and irritation wanting to throw my kindle but my desperation takes hold and reels me back in steeling myself for more of the brutally intense drama to come all while thinking to myself how could it possibly get any worse or more intense only to be shocked rendered into a stupified state of the cold hardening words that continue to spin a web that I didn't think I would be able to overcome as the broken desperation seeped deep into my heart twisting and pulling always with a painstaking tug.
Brutally broken punishing chemistry with a conflicting desperate need to annihilate with a cold harden heart. A tsunami of emotions that are impossible to escape and impossible to live through as your being pulled fiercely from one emotions to the next with no time to recover.
Intense, edgy, exciting, enjoyable, danger, heart-pounding, angst, sass, fierce, grueling, dominating, dark, steamy, lies, betrayal and explosive shocking twists. An in your face intense must read that will be impossible to put down! One heck of a nerve rattling read that I absolutely loved!

King's Men
Vengeance, resentment and web of lies - dark, intense, emotional and soul-wrenching
I read this book in one sitting. I was so immersed by the story that I didn't notice how fast the time flew by. I know it will sound as any other review but the book was so intense that I couldn't put it down. Even now I'm still reeling from what I just read. The events kept me gasping for air... The story is dark, intense and very twisted. There was so much suspense that I just wanted to know what happens on the next pages because let me tell you this, going through the story you won't even suspect what the next chapter would bring. Now I'm feeling like my emotions are all over the place. This story really moved me and I can't wait to read the next part. I need to know what's going to happen to Snowy and Blake.
The themes and scenes presented in this book are not for a faint heart but if you are into dark themes, intense psychological dramas this one doesn't disappoint. It's all and more that the reader could wish from a good dark romance. It's brutal, tragic, raw and shows all monstrous and ugly parts of human with dark battered soul.

King's Horses
Dark, cruel, twisted - full of emotional pain
It took me some time to gather my thoughts after finishing the conclusion to the duet and to write review. For me one of the songs of the band called Thirty Seconds To Mars titled Up In The Air describes perfectly the dynamic between the main characters.

Stuck in a moment of emotion I've destroyed
Is this the end I feel?
(...)F-ed up our life
All of the laws I've broken, loves that I've sacrificed
(...)Lost in the night
I wouldn't trade out for you lies you lost for my life
Is this the end
You were the love of my life, the darkness, the light
This is a portrait of the tortured you and I
Is this the end?
I wrap my hands around you neck so tight with love, love, love
(...)Take no more
I'll take no more

It is painfully beautiful, cruel, intense, heartbreaking, soul-wrenching. So hard to believe people are really able to hurt others just to stay away from their own pain. But is it really possible? Can we hurt others and think that no sinful action can ever go without its consequences? Blake for sure will discover if that's true or not.
Loved this part even more then previous one, the twist just made me gasp and I was sure of the outcome but again author took me by surprise.
Loved the ending, couldn't be better and different after all what they went through. Two broken, shattered souls trying to put themselves back together. Snowy wasn't the only one who needed 'All the King's horses and all the King's man'.

~All the king’s men won’t put me back together again...No matter how violent my fall.~

I’m fast becoming a fan of Lana Sky. In spite of having a TBR list a mile high, I knew I had to scoot this to the top of my list. I dove right in and was immediately hooked! Her writing is high quality, allowing for effortless reading. The book is suspenseful with twists, and mesmerizing with mystery and intrigue.

Snowy Hollings has been selling her soul to save and preserve her family’s name since she was young. After all, being a Hollings means something. When the family’s fortune has been acquired and their affluence has been tarnished, desperation takes hold and Snowy must do what must be done for her and her brothers.

Blake Lorenz, has acquired everything including Snowy, in order to make her pay for her betrayal aiding in the death of the love of her life. He wants her broken and he will be the one responsible for her fall.

King’s Men is excruciatingly brutal and psychologically cruel. It is a dark romance sans the romance. I refuse to give spoilers, so read the blurb, then read the book!!

4.5* Humpty Dumpty Stars!

~All the king’s horses and all the king’s men, Snow. No one can put you back together again. You’re broken. Beautifully broken.~

Whereas Brandt would be there to help pick up the pieces and put her back together, Blake just wants to break Snow Hollings and see her suffer. They say there is a fine line between love and hate and these swirling emotions are ever present as Blake wants to inflict his vengeance all while lusting after the submissively yielding socialite.

As much as I love the dark and depraved Blake, I enjoyed seeing him a bit more bridled in this conclusion, we see more of the man Brandt would have been if he had not been betrayed by the only one he loved and trusted.

In King’s Men we see him portray cruelness and indifference. In King’s Horses, Blake reveals his unease and vulnerability. Blake is just as broken, for all his revenge he seems like the one who is breaking. He is guarded, devoid of trust, fearing to lose his heart again. Can these two start anew and overcome their past?

This duet is full of fiery twists, lust, vengeance, vicious lies and cruel manipulation. I have just recently discovered the writings of Lana Sky, and I thoroughly enjoy her brand of stories.

Kings Men:
Wow. This book was intense! I stayed up until 2am having to know what was going to happen!! There was no way I was going to be able to sleep without knowing. So much happens! I have to read book 2 now to see what happens! I have so many questions!

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. It’s raw, gritty, and dark. There is no real “hero” and you are kinda left wondering what would be a HEA ending for the book? Is HEA even a possibility? Ugh I love when dark books are truly unapologetically dark. Blake doesn’t suddenly become a hero and Snow doesn’t suddenly make the world okay by just accepting her fate. I truly think she is desperately searching for that little boy she used to know, and she will do anything to find him.

King’s Horses:
Ahhh King’s Horses!! What a ride that was!!

Oh Blake. Oh Snow. What tangled webs we weave. I’ll be honest after King’s Men I wasn’t sure how this story would get a HEA. Heck even 50% through King’s Men I didn’t know how it would be HEA! However fear not the story does end HEA as much as a story like this can.

Blake and Snowy are stuck trying to be the people they were before and ignore the damage that has been done to them through the years. Blake continues to show little glimpses of Brandt, keeping the hope alive for Snow. Blake is stuck being two people Blake and Brandt. Who he was born and who the world forced him to become.

There were a lot of questions at the end. It could easily have a book 3 with plenty of material to keep me interested. Masha’s story. What is going on there? It was kinda a side plot that I felt was never fully explored or explained. Blake and Snow moving forward. What comes next? I want more of them!!

Maybe Lana will feel inspired to do a shorter ending novella (is there a word for that?) that will answer a lot of those questions. Maybe Masha could get her own book where we get to see some of Blake as he becomes Blake as well. Ohh maybe Roman could get a book?! *hint*hint*

It’s a good book, highly recommend, and maybe we can all pester her to add another book lol!

KINGS MEN
WOW what a dark twisted story that has so much hate with lies mixed with truths but what to believe that will have you in pieces as the emotion guts you in every single way. Snowy and Blake are a force and together destruction as they punish each other looking for the answer they seek and it is so intense you never know whats coming next, thuis keeps you right there on the edge of your own sanity. The story line flowed perfectly and the characters are exceptionally written I loved it.
KINGS HORSESIncredible what a page turner and I love how we get to see both sides of Blakes and Snowy sordid stories and it is not easy they are so tormented with so many secrets and questions needing answers it breaks your heart as the trust is built then broke with so much pain as they are pulled together and then pushed away from the damage their past has done to them. I really loved Snowys strength in this one she held her own the only way she knew how even when everyone and Blake pushed and pushed these to have a connection that can never be ignored its so beautiful and painful all at the same time and Blake was so tortured it brings all the emotion out in you as you can literally hear his every word right down to your very soul. So well written with such amazing developed characters that will captivate you.

Prepare yourself because this one is going to hurt and boy will it leave a mark on your heart. So dark, intense and twisted, this duet will leave you stunned and breathless. There is content here that is not for everyone and may things that could be triggers, so please be aware before reading. It is book one of a duet so prepare for a cliffhanger. Snowy and Blake are complex, complicated characters. I felt horrible for Snowy. The position she is in is unimaginable. Blake is vicious, vindictive and brutal. It is my opinion that even for a dark hero he pushes the edge of what is acceptable and can be redeemed. I think the author has a lot of work to do to achieve this in book two. That being said, this is a gripping read with plenty of jaw-dropping moments and twists that will keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat. In the end however, I was left with a feeling of dissatisfaction. My first problem was that as intense as the emotions between the main characters burned (and there is no denying that they were intense!). I could not feel any real buildup of real affection. This for me was so disappointing. Secondly, What is up with the ending? It seemed too open ended and abrupt at the same time. In the end I liked it but did not love it because I felt it fell short of its promised potential.

King's Men Book 1...
I was captured and held prisoner from page 1. This book is unlike any I have read before. It's imaginative beyond. I was spellbound and could not put it down. This is the story of Snowy Hollings who is at the top of the elite, it seems. But not really, she is about to fall and fall really hard. Brandt Lloyd was her "everything" until he wasn't. This is absolutely a Five Star book. I loved it from beginning to end. It's brutal and horrific at times. There are so many elements; deceit, anger, sex, grief, heartbreak, suspense. Everything you could want in an unbelievable story. Read it today, you will not be disappointed.
King's Horses Book 2...
WOW! What an ending to a terrific duet. So many twists and turns and secrets. I loved it! When I finished King's Men - Book 1, I was on pins and needles waiting for this book and still once I started it I was on the edge the entire time not knowing how it was going to turn out. How does an author write such a book, she has to be brilliant and have a very creative mind. Lana Sky definitely does. This book will take hold of your mind and you will not be able to escape until the last page. Read King's Men Book 1 first if you haven't read it and then King's Horses. You will love both books!

I was pretty excited for this book ever since reading the blurb for it, and i had formed an average idea on what to expect based on that, but as soon as i stated reading it, i realised that this will not be your regular read. its much much better.
As per usual Lana managed to create another a amazing world with a new set of frustratingly dark characters who still mange to feel captivating and fragile the further you read into the book. Overall this was a very dark and twisted, totally unexpected with an ending that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I started this book extremely excited, especially after reading Kings Men and reaching that jaw dropping cliffhanger ending, and all i can say that i found this installment to be perfect.
My favourite part was that we actually got to see great character development for both main characters, which for me helped in connecting with them as that was something that i didn't feel in the first book. All in all this book was intense, totally unexpected, had great characters and it was a great ending for this series.

Kings Men- Snowy was in love with Brandt for a long time and then because of her he was dead, taking with her everything that was good. Now her family fortune lies in the hands of Blake who very much resembles her perfect boy only this man hates her family and in particular her. Entering into a deal with the devil to reclaim at least part of her fortune, Snow finds herself reminded more and more of Brandt. Could it be? And if Blake is Brandt will he ever be able to understand why she sent him to jail for a crime he never would have committed? Dark and twisted and so compelling I could not put it down!
King's Horses- Snowy and Blake are back and all questions regarding these two are answered in a satisfying sigh out loud way. These two have been through too much to get the fairy tale happily ever after but the reader was left with the main characters looking to a brighter future together and isn't that the most anyone can truly ask? I just love Masha and would hope that she, one day gets her own book series as well.

Intense does not even begin to describe it. The emotions are sooooo wild, and raw, and.... It is just exquisite. Dark as night, but delicious as sin. So, WOW. Book One was intense. Book Two? Emotionally raw. Beautiful. Anger, fear, concern for each other, and lust swirl together. It was riveting. Once I started reading, I could not stop until The End. Blood, sweat, and tears flow. All questions from the first book are answered, and this is a far cry from the predictable Knight In Shining Armor trope we are so used to.

Straight up abuse

I read other reviews before purchasing this series of 2 books and felt for sure I must have read the wrong reviews. Nope, I went back and checked. People actually raved about it.

Personally, I hated the abusive and self loathing characters, but since I bought both, I hung in there waiting for an actual story. Sadly it never eventuated.
No plot.
No character development.
Some pretty awful abuse.
Definitely pass on this.
