This is a very enjoyable quick read that looks at life, family and relationships, set mostly in a small country town, we get to know Mark when he returns to his home town after his father passes away.

Mark is a busy tavern owner, divorced from his wife Kelly he feels guilty about not getting back to see his father more than he should have and leaving most of the care of him to his sister Estella, but when he meets up with his first ever love Sally things bloom again between them after all of these years but his ex-wife Kelly arrives and is determined to put a spanner in the works.

If you are looking for something quick and pleasing then this is one that I would recommend.

Bittersweet, slow-burning romance. Fast, enjoyable read where emotions and relationships take center stage. This is my first book by this author and I can recommend you give it a try. While the saying goes that you can never go home again, sometimes it is the very best thing that can happen to you. Good read.

What happens when time catches up

Thinking we have all the time in the world, but what happens when it finally runs out.? What regrets are left? What will the future hold? These questions are answered in this book. This was a touching story, thinking that there is enough time to see a loved one, when you have a life if your own to live and then with a phone call that world has changes. Seeing family, friends, an old love and even an ex. brings together the past and the future. Seeing second chances that bring love and happiness in to the characters lives. I felt this story and was pleased throughout till the end.

Mark has become so focused on his business that he has lost himself. It has become an all consuming obsession causing him to alienate himself from his wife and family, and ultimately cost him his marriage. His father's death brings him home, and he begins a journey of self-discovery of sorts, realizing that by shutting himself off he has stopped truly living. With the help of Sally, he finally brings himself out of the fog he has created, he is able to see that some dreams really do come true. Another sweet read from MC Baker.

What a wonderful second chance story. Mark had to go home for his fathers funeral and does have regrets that he did not make the two hour drive sooner to see him while he was alive. While back home he see his old girlfriend and also his ex-wife shows up. Now you will have to read this book to see what happens. Enjoy.

This story felt real, the characters are you parents or family friends that you've seen and wished they'd be happy and let go and live. Finding love is never a simple linear path and this book is beautiful in exploring that.

Looking Forward Looking Back is a heartfelt story. Mark, the main character, is easy to love. Reading his story you can't help but want the best for him. M.C. Baker did a wonderful job of keeping Mark's fate from us.
