Britt's Protector

Rate this book
A freshman in college, Britt Carmichael wondered if she would ever find another human being sexual stimulating. She had tried boys her age, men, and even girls, but their kisses all left her cold. Until a kiss from Major Wesley Blair spun her world on its axis.Being a Marine brat, Britt understood Wes better than he understood himself. Wes saw himself as her protector, not a potential lover. So she leaves California to pursue her education in Atlanta. She would return older and wiser, and hopefully more experienced. Then she would see if Wes was able to walk away.

Shara is- well let's just say touched. Born a Marine brat, Shara is a Navy Veteran with a pathological love for men in uniform, chocolate, and heroes that are maybe a touch psychotic. With over seventy-five books in her backlog, Shara has no intention of slowing down any time soon. She's definitely not safe for work, or the kids, or- you know what? She's just not safe.

Also writes as Allie Blocker.

I'm a fan of Shara Azod. I like her alpha male characters and her love scenes are usually hot. She might sometimes have a few typos but it usually doesn't distract from her content. Now while I liked the premise (famous dead Marine's daughter falls for her appointed guardian who also is a Marine), the reason why I couldn't LOVE this story was of continuity with years passed and ages - an issue similar to what I found in Forever Jade I hope this isn't going to be a recurring issue in future books. It wasn't as bad though as that in Forever Jade. SPOILER ALERT: The unrealistic 'first-time' for the heroine threw me off as well. the girl went from virgin to sexpot in a few sentences.

For a novella, it was okay. Would I recommend for purchase? Maybe, it's better as a loan. I think that if there was more time put into the story so it could have been a little more fine tuned. It has promise.

I've read and enjoyed most of Ms. Azod's work. Britt's Protector is a good one and I come back to it from time to time. The alpha is hot. Britt is no shrinking violet and I like the combo of them. The story moved along at a nice pace. I do wonder who the prodigal son is and if he appears in another book. There were some secondary characters that could be developed (Cole) into their own book.

This book was similar to the book Anchors Away Shades of Gray in several aspects (at least in my opinion)which made the read a little less exciting. But it was still entertaining.
