This was a short, well-written biography of Ling William, one of Mary King's most famous horses. It's not a full biography, as it doesn't chart all his life, but it seems to cover the most important bit. I guess this was aimed at Mary's younger fans, as the style was quite simple, but I still enjoyed it as a not-so-young-fan. There are lots of fantastic photos too. My only small niggles were that some of the photo captions ended up being spoilers to the text, as they seemed to have been placed in the book slightly incorrectly, and there are quite a few repetitions in the text too. But overall a nice little read.
This was a little disappointing. There are some superb photographs but the text reads almost like the sort of brochure which might have been produced by a sponsor company or event organiser - very little to engage with or get any sense of personality, other than the occasional comment about King William's 'journey' from novice to champion.
