Great mystery, characters, setting..the works. Kept me guessing the whole time. Showed true, raw emotions. Well written, but they sure do drink a lot of coffee!!
Overwritten and not edited. I gave up counting how many times people rode in police cars to be interviewed by a detective. Then I lost track of the number of times people were meeting in the morning or at night. These people must have drunk a hundred cups of coffee! You can definitely tell a man wrote about the clothing people wore. He listed the items, the colors and details. Didn’t know how to describe the clothes in reference to the people who wore them, or the situations they were in. I thought about giving this story 3 stars, but once I started writing this review and recalling all the bad parts, I dropped the rating.
The plot and characters were good. However, this book continually told what clothing the characters were wearing. This was an aggravating part of the book that I didn’t like. Also the reference to the Ford Escape being a truck. I believe the author should have done more research because a Ford Escape is a SUV not a truck. I gave this 3 stars and that was generous when I had figured out who committed the crime way before the ending.
Set in a tourist town where affairs, business, family and friends all come together. A missing women, possible kidnapping or murder and lots of red herrings. The plot seemed to take many different twists and turns. A bit too, much information about irrelevant story lines but a good read.
This book was so hard to put down, I wanted to keep reading, but a gal has to eat and sleep sometime. Story was in detail about what the characters were doing. I love a mystery where I couldn’t guess the ending. Stayed up till midnight reading. Great surprise ending. Great book. Hope there are more.
Slow to start and I almost stopped reading a few times. However, the story improved and the pace and tension picked up. By the end of the book, I decided it deserved a 4 rating. I recommend.
I did like everything about this book, pretty much. Loved the characters and the plot was great! The setting is so good and could have taken more description of its beauty. But otherwise, its one great read
Good story, but it just dragged on and on. Things repeated, like how many times do I want to read about "real Canadian maple syrup". Could have been a lot shorter, more to the point. Like I said, good story though.
I didn't care to much for this story. It was too much back and forth. Too many characters that really didn't contribute to the story. The brothers were definitely odd. Not a good read!
This was a really good murder mystery -- an interesting plot, great characters, some twists and turns. It kept me engaged right up to the epilogue. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.
A woman killed and buried on a beach called Dead Beach!
Do you love mysteries!? This has great characters! You know bad guys against good guys ! Always great when bad guys get caught! Two killed on Dead Beach! Enjoy this book!
Another book that needed proofreading as the author kept messing up the names. Find this really annoying. Also too much drinking coffee and eating, the book could have been a decent mystery with less meals and correct names!
Loved how the characters were developed and the twists and turns as the story progresses. The good guys were great! The bad guys were ...... really bad.
This book was a page turner for sure. It kept me wanting to read more each day to find the killer. Great characters and I must say they drink a lot of coffee. Lol
Honestly, it's too long of a book. I was half way in and still dragging about the mystery etc. I had to skip the rest because it was very repetitive. They drive back and forth to places before talking when they could just talk in the car. Kinda unrealistic.
