It was said that any pupil of Abbot’s Lane Primary School who climbed onto the roof of the building and knocked the school bell three times would be blessed with good fortune throughout their lives.Conner Seagrave, Sophie Hadley and Elliot Gibbs failed to do so during their time at school but now years later, just before the building is to be demolished, they are returning to complete the task. However, their challenge takes on a sinister turn that puts their lives and the lives of those who live near the school in serious danger.
A short little adventure story with a twist of a ghost story. I like the idea that three teenagers go back to their old school to complete an old tradition and get caught up in a ghost story. The ending was unexpected but I like how all the characters had achieved something by the end.
No one got in trouble and no one got hurt. It was fun!
I’m pleased I managed to get around to this book as I know the author and I like to support indie writers.
I met David J H Smith at a Comic Con in Taunton, Somerset on Sunday 14th April. He seemed a lovely man. I bought signed copies of all the books he had for sale, including this book. It was only a short book and I managed to read it all on the way home and found the story to be very entertaining. I would recommend.
