This was the first real chicklit book I have read. I can understand why the genre is popular. This book is an easy read, a fun story and the outcome is quite predictable, so there isn't much tension. For some women, they might recognize themselves in any of the characters, but that is not the case for me. Though I could not identify with the characters, I could find myself in their struggle against weight. Dieting is something appalling to me, and I can fully understand why it is so difficult if, like the four friends Pam, Toni, Maggie and Ellie, you try to change your habits rigorously.
The story has been quite entertaining, yet there weren't many suprises. What I disliked was the quite outspoken language about sex, the story didn't need that. All in all a good book to read when you don't want to spend much time thinking about plots or hidden meanings.
