Blurb – DisposableWhen Caryn Blake, a prominent, black litigation expert, walks in on her cheating husband entertaining his latest girlfriend, she goes a little crazy. After everything she’s done for him; giving him the space to live it up, while she makes the moves securing a name for herself and fame for both of them, the betrayal is just too much. However, revenge is bitter-sweet, especially when it’s taken too far. Caryn decides to take a much needed break in the most remote state she can find. With nowhere to go, and no one to take her, Caryn makes the most of a bad situation, finding friends and a lover she never thought she deserved. When her face is splashed across the local news as a wanted criminal, she needs to return home and face the music. She’s not alone though. Her arsenal is loaded, and she has a wild card up her sleeve. Because as far as Caryn is concerned, she’s not disposable.
Author of contemporary fiction featuring a wide variety of subjects and interest. I refuse to be boxed into a genre, there are so many interesting aspects of literature to explore. I want to give you the unexpected, the new, the thrill, the suspense. All the things you never expected, in twists and turns that make you think about a story, long after you have finished reading it. Not everything I write will be for everyone, I understand that its human nature to be different. But give me a chance, come and explore with me, perhaps we can find mutual ground to enjoy.
Well I will say it has been a while for me to read one of your good book s . And just like all the rest I love the way you tell a story, liked it being in Alaska, a woman as we sometimes say couldn't see the forest for the trees, all worked out in the end they both got there happy ever after .
Lawd, I love this woman. After catching her no-good husband in the act in her home, in her bed, Caryn Blake does what every Black woman thinks about. Vengeance, Caryn goes to the extreme and hangs him up in the garage dressed inappropriately for whoever finds him. Then she gets on a plane and goes to the coldest State her money will take her. What started out as staying in a cabin turns into her future when her car breaks down in God-forsaken Alaska. Caryn is a wanted woman and must surrender and go face her consequences. I loved this book, great plot, and story-line, fast-paced and read in one night. Bravo Tara.. This book was recommeded by Unique Works, LLC.
When I read the storyline I thought it was a far fetched and initially skipped past it. Eventually I went for it because it was free to read, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well written it was. I loved Dez and Caryn as well as the other characters in the book. It had me LOL throughout. The only disappointment was there were no great sex scenes between Dez and Caryn, only that pitiful display from Derek but still a 5* read. Whilst I’ve never read books written by this author before, I’m definitely going to read more.
The book was amusing although the court case was too unbelievable. To start with, with this type of crime, i doubt she would have been on international tv. Her husband is ridiculous. What she did was extreme but he should have just taken it on the chin and move on. I’m not big on people running away from their lives to the countryside so I wasn’t moved by both of them hiding out in Alaska. What a waste of great skills. At least she’s somewhat consulting.
Carton thought she had a great marriage and a somewhat slightly decent husband, until she decided to listen to herself and checked up on him. After dealing with her husband, she takes a much needed break from work and goes to Alaska, where she meets some unexpected characters, especially one named Dez, who is more than he seems. I liked Caryn and her snarky attitude.
A truly fun, interesting read. The characters have great chemistry and the setup...well, any scorned woman would appreciate it. The story is great, the hero is surprisingly sweet despite his rough exterior, and Caryn is the champion all women need.
It did lose a star because this book desperately needs one more proofread. There are glaring typos and grammatical errors - and lots of them - that need to be fixed.
Caryn obviously fell out of love with her husband years ago but never had the inclination to do anything about it until that day. She wanted payback and to humiliate him because she felt used and disposable. Dez didn't bow down but made his desire known. Not enough backstory on Dez.
Although I disagreed with Caryn’s choice to stick around and put of with her husband’s infidelity I loved her spunk. It would have been nice to get some of Dez’s point of view as I am sure it would have been just as entertaining as Caryn’s. Derek got what he deserved, but I did not understand what Barbara thought of that he was a catch, to each their own.
Caryen was no joke she was in a league of her own. I loved that the story flowed nicely from start to finish.I enjoyed the story it's a must read. This book was recommended by UniqueWord,LLC.
