I often enjoy batshit crazy books. This book sounded like it would be the fun kind of batshit. However, it was not fun. It was very misogynistic and pandering. The humor was not funny and the characters were all flat and dull.

tl/dr - Internally consistent but lacking in character depth, world building and ultimately feeling shallow and unsatisfying. Mild spoilers within the rest of the review...
Credit where it is due, the author has written a four book series that holds together within its own continuum and when you have read all four books then choices made in the earlier books make a touch more sense but this fact sadly does compound the under-developed world building. By the end of book four you still know very little about the city of El Diablo or why this world operates on the legal and illegal status metrics, other than a brief mention of an AI in the first book.
The protagonist of the series, Simon, is little more than a violent bully, lashing out at the world in order to take what he wants because he feels the world owes him for the abuse, ridicule and ill-fortune that characterises his life up until Azrael enters his existence. On the topic of Azrael, I personally dislike how he's seems to be little more than elemental lust and rage, despite him supposedly being an ancient and conniving devil that once threatened Lucifer himself. But this is internally consistent within the world the author has established, with angels and devils being (largely) unchanging in who and what they are.
The ladies of the book really do feel like bit part characters quite often, occasionally coming to the forefront and then blending back into the scenery which is a shame as Rachel's character premise intrigues me and I can't help but feel that more investiture into them would have dramatically fleshed out the scenes and resulting in more investment and engagement from me, the reader.
Spelling and grammar can be a little spotty throughout the books too, occasionally dragging me out of my immersion due to my brain internally screaming at a grievous error.
Honestly, the best part of these books is the cover art... I'm not sure who the artist is but I do like their work.

Well this just an addicts need to read something pulp .
It was an easy read but not something extraordinary for me. You want an MC to be bitch ass weak and then grow strong by a system of sort. This book does it and it has a harem element in it. For all your ecchi fans.

Really good
Okay I was really really skeptical about reading this book after I read wraith King mostly because the main character seems to be a useless fob who still manages to get all the women despite not having any real skills to gain that attention not to mention he's that type of character is always complaining about how he can't do anything woe is me type of stuff if it's bothering you that badly then take that initiative and actually figure out what type of combat you're good at or figure out what that magic thing is about but enough about that book this book this book is really good I was honestly worried but not anymore I'm waiting on the next book and I'm totally going to be reading through it all because the main character while he is weak at the beginning and has not very much skills he tries his best to become a good Hitman and at the very end spoiler warning alert she defeats the final boss Megadeth so yeah try this thing out I'm pretty sure you'll like it

This harem story is dope. Mc is pragmatic and logical. He kills indiscriminately, but isn't a total psychopath. I'm not on e to read harmed but the author kept the debauchery to a limit and focused on action. Thank goodness. I'm I intrigued and ready to read part two. Would've banked 5 stars but it didn't really flesh out the supporting g characters personalities enough.

I couldn't even really get started with this. DNF after less than a chapter. The MC is so despicable. I can take that he's starting out a weak loser because then usually changes after something significant happens. However when he expressed compassion and GUILT because someone got hurt by something they stole after assaulting and robbing him...well this is going into the trash. I'm just not reading MCs who repulse me anymore.

Very slow to start, difficult to read the MC who's a complete loser (and acknowledged as such, that's the whole point) so getting through the beginning was a chore. Thankfully it kicked into high gear at around his second hit and then it got interesting. I feel annoyed that I had to suffer a bit so I'm giving it a 3, but I'll continue reading. I think it's going to get a lot better after this one.

Yeah, the main character is a demon enslaving, sociopathic, murderous nerd, but then, aren't we all at times.
I really enjoyed this book. It kept my thumbs tapping page turn as I stayed up way too late reading it. This is my first from Jack Porter, and I look forward to more.

Hitman is a hit!
A very well written and entertaining story line. With the help of his demon, Simon’s improving day by day. The whole idea of advancing his powers by sleeping with women is something I haven’t seen before. This is a modern variation of the “sword and sorcery” genre, a la Conan the Barbarian. Looking forward to the next installment.

Interesting concept using a dark lead character that you can still relate to.

Great first book.
If a book can compel me to continue reading non stop, it deserves 5 stars. I read a lot and I'm not too picky but some stories drag. This had very good pacing, was fun and exciting.

Too much monologue stalling
It's a good story but I found myself skipping chunks of it. It's too much inner monologue of dhit that was said countless times before. Its irritating.

Awesome book with great premise and it seems like author has some knowledge on how pick up works which is refreshing to see, add in the good humor of this book and you cant ask for much more.

This was written with the male gaze, so it took a bit of adjusting. Overall the plot was straightforward and to the point.
