Plug yourself in to this hilarious, high-voltage romance from Niamh Shaw

Unlucky-in-love Lara sure knows how to pick 'em - losers, that is. But who can blame her when she's never gotten over having her heart (and self-esteem) smashed to pieces by her one and only true love, the super-intelligent, super-geeky, and super-emotionally-inept Conn? Six years later, working alongside her ex on an energy-generating project in Dubai is the last thing Lara expected. It's not long before sparks are flying, but can Lara trust Conn with her heart again?

I wasn't expecting much from this book when I started it, but boy am I glad I picked it up to read! It's a story of a couple that has lots of bumps before smooth sailing, just like in real life. And another wonderful thing about this book is how not only do we get to see what happened from Lara's point of view, but we also get Conn's view as well. We are able to see and feel what they are feeling. Niamh Shaw does a great job at writing intricate characters. I was unable to put this book down once I got started. I was really able to connect with them and had laugh out loud moments and even a few where I got teary eyed. Sadly, Niamh Shaw has only written two books, and this is the second one of them. Please write some more!

"Starting again is never easy"

Why is Lara so nervous about moving to New York with her boyfriend, Leonard? Well, there IS a small matter of forgetting about socially inept annoying super-geek Conn, who was her first love.

"In Conn's case, I had obsessed about it. I had imagined meeting him again.." -Lara
Although she's made fresh start over and over again, Conn keeps making appearances in her love life.

Could New York be the new start Lara needs? It's about time she put the past behind her, even though that's easier said than done...
