Midsummer Nights

Rate this book
Gorgeous sunsets. Crisp lake waters. Crackling bonfires. It's summer on Mackinac Island. For Tracey, these particular summer nights just might change her life forever. If she'll let them. Tracey Swartz is a lot of things— fashionable, spontaneous, quick with a joke, and easy to laugh. No, she hasn't had an easy life. But who has? But it's finally time for Tracey's big break. Elise's new screenplay is set to start filming on Mackinac Island that summer, and Elise has arranged for Tracey to work in costuming on-set. Tracey is both terrified and thrilled to be a part of "movie magic." But as Tracey prepares for her role, a chance encounter with a man from her past leaves her reeling. Suddenly, she finds herself lost in an emotional correspondence with her daughter's long-lost father— a man she thought she'd never hear from again. Chaos ensues as Tracey and her ex-lover become closer than they ever should have been. On top of it all, the movie director of Elise's film is not who he appears to be— and soon reveals himself to be something of an unlikely savior in Tracey's life. Plus, Tracey's daughter, Emma, has secrets of her own. Dive in for book four of Secrets of Mackinac Island, that gem of an island between the southern and northern peninsulas of Michigan, where secrets have been kept for the previous forty years.

Katie Winters has delivered us another incredible read. I don’t know how she does it…but she continues to deliver the absolute best reads one after another. Midsummer Nights has an incredible storyline; totally unforgiving characters; plot twists and turns that take your breath away; and a HEA that literally sets up the next novel. These books are beyond amazing—and will literally take your breath away each and every time. You really need to add this one to your library today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️

Lots of family love and support run through the themes of this book. The Schwartz family can truly count on one another for help and support. As Tracey travels to California to pursue work as a costume designer she mysteriously spots ex love Joey, as a pilot. He is the father of her daughter Emma

Meanwhile the group returns to Mackinac Island where filming of a movie takes place.

Will history repeat itself? Can Tracey reconnect and build a future with Joey? What secrets does director Malcolm his?

Thank you to the author for the ARC. this voluntary review is my honest opinion.

Such a beautiful book. This starts with Tracey trying to fit in in California and the costume design part of the movie Elise wrote. We learn more about Tracey and Emma in this book and get to see Tracey work thru her past demons (Emma’s father) and start to move forward. Emma deals with some health issues and the Schwartz family comes together at the end. Can’t wait to read about what happens with Tracey and her new friend as well as with Emma. Life is never boring on the island!

The beautiful setting of Mackinac Island is the background for a movie in which Tracey Swartz works on the costuming for the film. What I like about Winters' books is the element of the unexpected. A chance encounter with a lover from her youth leads to reconnecting with him. Some people are simply not what they appear to be. I really loved the plot. Both Tracey and her daughter Emma become stronger women after facing personal ordeals. The book was great !

Another great book by Katie Winters.

I've loved all of the Mackinac Island books in this series. Living in Michigan, I've been to the island several times and can appreciate the dedication to detail in this series. I love the characters and the fact that the books are clean, well written stories without a lot of sex and profanity. I'm looking forward to the next Katie Winters book.

Great storytelling. Love the characters and their support of each other. Emma got a challenge ahead of her and Tracey will be there with her all the way.

I have read all of the books in this series about Mackinaw Island by Katie Winters. They are short reads, but I have enjoyed following stories about various members of the family.
