This was a decent end to the series and I enjoyed it. Khyros and Azenyah (or however you spell their names) had great chemistry and I enjoyed how we jumped right in to the smut.
I will say this though, and this is something that has bothered me throughout the whole series…I don’t see how these supposedly mighty, powerful, legendary beings get their asses handed to them so easily. All the time. By humans. Like, you have fucking DRAGONS and magic. Handle it, son.
Anyway. Enjoyed overall. Good series.

Azenyah and Khyros are fated mates separated by the fates till this very moment that the Dragorai are rising again. Khyros is a possessive alpha perfect for the hardheaded and capricious Azenyah, at first his prisoner. Azenyah is sun kissed from living in the island. She wields magic, has a fighting style and dresses from a different time. Even though she is very powerful, he is better and bests her every time.
“Should I prepare a suitable wardrobe for her, then? She is wearing tunics, and I’m not sure it’s appropriate for attending clan meetings.” That was true. He wasn’t fond of how much of her body she’d been showing in front his clan."
What a way to end things, sooooo perfect.

Dark and Brutal....What an ending, but also a future!!
Wow, what an ending. I had always pictured Khyros as the most stable and controlled of the Vattoro Clan Dragorai, but in this I saw a side I never imagined. Primal, instinctual, with barely contained rage and fury. I guess living with 700 years of pain and loss will do that to you.
All the books in the series lead to this moment of finding Khyros' dragon and killing the King and Queen once and for all. The clan had researched and had a good guess of where the dragon may be, but it was more than dangerous to attempt a rescue. With all the changes to the clan with the new mates and pregnancies, Khyros realized he wasn't as needed and could possibly even be a liability. So he decided he was going to find his dragon Skar or die trying.
In the attempt to find his dragon Khyros comes across a mysterious warrior who he assumes is involved in imprisoning his dragon. While fighting, it becomes apparent that the warrior is a female, but female or not, Khyros will not be lenient. All those with a hand in the pain he and his dragon have endured these 700 years of being separated, will pay the ultimate price.
Azenyah, was a strong dominant woman. A warrior in her own right, as any Dragorai Omega worth her salt should be. She had been taken out of the height of the fighting and imprisoned during the Human-Dragorai war. Azenyah didn't know who would dare do this to her, but she vowed to find out and make them and their whole clan pay for this injustice.
I don't want to give too much away. This was a superb ending to this dark fantasy series. But be warned, this was not a happy go lucky HEA. This was raw and gritty. Khyros and Azenyah were both full of grief, anger, and hatred. They didn't know who to lash out at and so repeatedly lashed out at each other. There were some moments of violence between them that went a bit too over the line for me, which affected my rating. That's not to say that their chemistry wasn't electric and crazy because it was. There was just a lot of friction, and pushing buttons, and boundaries in the beginning until they realized what they were to each other and could let go of the past. Khyros and Azenyah were both extremely stubborn but had to choose what was really important and what kind of future they wanted.
Again, I thought this was such a great ending to this series, a real rollercoaster of emotions for sure. So many questions got answered. Wrongs were righted and avenged. I definitely had my weepy moments throughout, but also so much to be happy about as well. I am sad this series is over but this ending also gave the Vattoro clan a chance at a new future where we might get some more Alpha and Omega Dragorai. I can only hope!! (Even if it's only a Dragorai 'Christmas' novella or something. I need to see those babies!! LOL.)

The grand finale of the series managed to wrap things up to my satisfaction. Here we get to finally understand and learn just where Khyros dragon has been and the why of it all. I found this enjoyable and gripping and it easily managed to engage and immerse me in the unfolding action.
The heroine here Azenyah could be a bit infuriating though she had complete tunnel Vision and her taking of the moral high ground was definitely an ingrained character trait. I did understand the scope of what she was dealing with so I tried to cut her some slack and when she did begin to mellow and lower her barriers around the clan she was different again. Saying that though she was from a different era and she did need to be a tough cookie to deal with Khyros as he himself was far from perfect here. I suppose what I’m trying to say is these two matched and were what they needed to be. They had both been shaped by their pain and experiences and behaved accordingly.
Be aware that this one does have more of a dub-con flavour than its predecessors. It did fit for this couple and Khyros and Azenyah’s bond does seem a lot based on the whole primal instinct and the alpha/omega bond. Their start together is very much founded in misconceptions regarding each other and their interactions do reflect this sometimes with a dark slant.
So I loved how much of the previous couples were also included here and I do believe this does need to be read in series order just because of the underlying story arc running through. Doing so will definitely enhance your experience as there is a lot going on story-wise that will be confusing without this background. I also really appreciated the finish with this it was ever so heart-warming and such a perfect idyllic moment to rest things with. This series as a whole has been fabulous and I’ve enjoyed it immensely if dragons and the intense omega/alpha vibe is your jam this is definitely the series for you. Finally, it's the end of the series. It was a shorter run than I expected and I really like it.
This final addition centered on Khyros, the last unmated dragorai and his pursue of his missing dragon which disappeared more than 700 years ago. His effort brought him to an island where he met the most badass heroines the series has to offer. Whom he proceeded to fight and immediately engaged in a sexual battle.
Khyros was a lot more unhinged and temperamental in this one. Unlike Azenyah whom I really actually love, Khyros took some time for me to accept. Rough sex aside, he was a little abusive than I wanted him to be, especially when he broke her arm during his outburst. So I dunno.
Other than that, it was a pretty satisfying ending to this series. It wrapped up everything nicely, and left us with a hint of hope towards this small clan.
So yeah, if you like omegaverse romance with dragon riders, then this is for you. It's a pretty quick series to get through too.

I am not going to lie, I’m disappointed. I’ve really been enjoying this series, not necessarily a favorite of mine, but still, I was looking forward to read the last book.
This book felt extremely rushed, even unfinished. I’m not one to usually point out editing mistakes in a book, because I know that even with edits, beta readers, and proof readers, you can still miss some typos, and I’m okay with that, but this genuinely felt like a rough draft. There were a lot of errors, some sentences weren’t even complete.
I did like the characters, and I do like the world the author created, but this last book needed to be twice as long, in my opinion. So many things were overlooked, the main conflict of the entire series was so easily dealt with, it was anticlimactic to say the least.
I’m just left feeling really disappointed by this conclusion. I expected so much more.

Really disappointed😞
I wanted to like the book, was looking forward to an angsty read.
But instead I got a misunderstanding plotline, unnecessarily cruel hero(this I initially had no problem with but they didn't properly address his actions or offer even surface level apologies and I felt that was inexcusable), countless grammatical errors, rushed wars and little to no romance.
Literally there was absolutely NO ROMANCE. It was infuriating. At no point did these two say 'I like him/her'. It was all duty, mate, our nature.
At one point the Hero started declining the merit of consent in a mate bond.
Sigh
I wanted to like the book, was looking forward to an angsty read.

A Lair So Royal is the final book in the Last Dragorai series and it features the serious, dominant, and unrelenting Khyros and his disobedient, resilient, and destined mate Azenyah. These two matched each other perfectly. Although I did not like how their relationship started because it was incredibly messy and complicated, this couple did grow on me over time. Khyros was the head of the Vattoro clan and much of the story so far revolved around him trying to locate his dragon who has been missing for centuries. Little did he know that fate and the Goddesses had plans for them all because of past mistakes and oversights from the dragorai race.
Azenyah was an interesting character and very different from past heroines because she is a dragorai—the same race as Khyros. After being trapped for on an island with Khyros' dragon for hundreds of years, Azenyah is thrust into a world that she no longer knows. A warrior for a time long gone, she is Khyros' other half and equal but due to misunderstandings between the two, their first time together was violent and brutal. I had a hard time finishing this book at first but once things took a turn and secrets were revealed, I was determined to finish it all the way. While the romance between Khyros and Azenyah was more physical at first, I was able to feel more of their connection near the end when truths were finally revealed.
In the end, I enjoyed this book despite my initial reaction to it and would recommend it to fans of Zoey Ellis and those who love fantasy romance with a lot of spice. Once the truth behind Khyros' missing dragon and why Azenyah was trapped on the same island was revealed, everything made sense. I felt heartbroken for everyone who died and fought in the war against the humans but it also left them a promising future to hold on to. The ending of the series was a pleasant surprise and brought much hope to the Vattoro clan. I hope that Zoey Ellis will continue this series in the future because I truly did enjoy all of the characters. The nose rubs will always be my favorite. I recommend this series to those who like the "enemies to romance" and "pre-destined soul mates" tropes with a dominant and arrogant hero who will stop at nothing to keep and claim his defiant and stubborn little warrior.

A Lair So Royal is the fifth and final book in The Last Dragorai series and features Khyros and Azenyah. I would not read this as a standalone, as the Dragorai and their mates journey's span all five books and without an understanding of the world and the chess pieces, you'll be confused.
Khyros, the dragon lord, kept his brothers alive during the war but at a great cost. Their kind is basically wiped from existence and his dragon has disappeared. Without his bonded dragon, his life has been half empty until the day he finally discovers where his dragon is. But things are not what they seem and a fiery female is guarding his dragon. But why? How?
Azenyah is a female Dragorai and became imprisoned with Khyros' dragon and when he stumbles upon them, he kidnaps her and is determined to find out all her secrets. Azenyah is angry and confused and Khyros is vengeful and livid. But neither of them truly understand the implications of the past and as their Alpha/Omega attraction grows, the more they realize they may be each other's salvation. Or perhaps each other's downfall...
With a coming battle on the horizon to take down the enemies that have plagued them for years and years, will Azenyah and Khyros become one or be buried in the rubble of their pain and pride?
So...you're probably wondering if I liked this? I did. I liked the story, the action and the culmination of events that led to the final battle. I enjoyed the ending that also left room for a future. It was fun seeing the brothers and their mates. What I didn't like?
The ROMANCE.
I felt like so much time was spent on wrapping up the plot as a whole that Khyros and Azenyah lacked the foundation for a partnership and intimate relationship. Khyros toed that line of cruel and Azenyah was...quote honestly...annoying.
I expected Khyros to be a silent alpha that dominated a room and would treat his mate with a firm hand but also compassion. Instead he was like a wrecking ball of rage that lacked the restraint of a what a centuries old dragon lord should have had. Azenyah was so stubborn and ridiculously tunnel visioned that had she been a little more open and tolerant, a lot of the misunderstanding that happened could have been cleared up.
With these two things in mind, it was like there was a solid wall between Khyros and Azenyah and by the end it seemed like they were only together because of their fated mate status. I didn't understand how they got from point A to point B with their supposed love. There is nothing that aggravates me more than seemingly indifferent MCs that get together at the end but you as the reader don't know how they got there. Did I miss a chapter or five?
Despite my frustration with the romance, the steam in here was deliciously dirty and dark. I loved the noncon/dubcon element but as I said before, it was based primarily on their Alpha/Omega dynamic and didn't feel like real attraction and adoration, even at the end.
Overall, I found myself disappointed in the romance but I admired the story line and how everything came together. If you like fantasy romance with darker elements, then I definitely recommend this series.

3 stars. Sigh…. so bummed. Been WAITING for the final chapter and…..ugh. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed all the other books in this series so maybe it’s just me. Zoey Ellis rocks all-told! This story had a major plot point that oddly went on hold and unaddressed in a way that wasn’t believable (yes, I get how odd it is to be discussing “believability” in fantasy dragon books) and when you combine that with dropped or extra words a half dozen times throughout, a choppy story/pacing plus a Hail Mary interlude that wrapped up some of the other plot points hastily…. Well…I’m just bummed. But like I said LOVED the rest of this series. Could just be me folks!

Note to self: the rule of thumb of reviews writing - do it right after you turn the last page, when emotions are fresh and you remember what the hell was going on in the book. Otherwise all attempts to write something cogent will be futile.
More than a month has passed since I finished the series, so...
A disclaimer: these are my first ever omegaverse novels! Who would have thought! I have been soooo adamant that I don't want to dip my toe in this ocean of fantasy. - Smut was fun for the first couple of times, by the book 3, I was skipping sex scenes, because there's only so much animalistic f*cking and bodily liquids I can stomach.
- May be it's prerequisite of the genre, but sometimes I was under impression that I am reading not about human beings, but about canines. It creeps me out..
- Too many plot holes to count.

- their unwavering loyalty to their mates was only topped by their arrogance. Cute :)
- loved the dragons
- The only reason I read all 5 books is that I wanted to know how the war would be resolved. Information about what's going on in the world outside the lairs is so scarce in the first books, that I wanted to keep on reading just to find out. Was it intentionally done by the author to lure the reader or it's just a sloppy writing, but it did the trick - binge-reading is complete.
- Now I know what omegaverse is about, the seal is broken and your recommendations are welcome.
Note to self: the rule of thumb of reviews writing - do it right after you turn the last page, when emotions are fresh and you remember what the hell was going on in the book. Otherwise all attempts to write something cogent will be futile.

It is difficult to admit this to myself. IMO, A lair so royal is disappointing and anticlimactic on many levels. I love The Last Dragorai series and have a soft spot for Zoey Ellis. I have been following her books avidly since Crave to Conquer. And the issue with other author make me feel for ZE more. So it is hard for me to say this but I will write an honest review of what I feel.
I will start with things I like
- This series have great world builiding. The bigger story arch is gripping and fresh. Each books have different tropes and do not feel repetitive.
- A Lair So Royal : Azenyah is a perfect match for Khyros. I mean she is strong, like a female warrior kind of strong, feisy and regal. It fits the namesake of the book perfectly.
- Previous MCs from book#1-4 make significant appearance. It is so reassuring to see the couples again, know that they have their HEA beyond their books' epilogue
Here are things I am disppointed
-A Lair So Royal feels rushed. The writing is rough and unpolished. The reason I give it 4 stars is mainly due to the momentum from the previous Book 1-4. There were many interesting things cramming into this book. I like fast paced book but I also need pertinent details. This book should have been twice as long.
- I have a hard time imagining how Khyros look. I know he is big, just like all alpha, and have green eyes. I have to go back to previous books to see if his appearance had previously been described.
- Grammatical error and typos. I don't mind few errors but this is quite a lot. Even the FMC name is spell wrong in some chapters. Error and typos did not stop me from going with the story, but it made the reading bumpy. This book could have been a fine dining.
- The chemistry between Khyros- Azenyah is great. But it could have been explosive like previous couples if the author had spent more time on their own personal moments. I can not pinpoint exactly when they fell in love. It started from doubt and hate relationship, to lust, and Khyros realized that she was his mate and that's it. This is just so abrupt. No development at all.
- Skar, he is the most interesting of all dragons. I wish he had more airtimes. He was lost for 700 years and when he finally made an entrance, it was just the very latter part of the books. Even Ryndross had more airtime than Skar in Skar's book.
- Lots of things were not addressed (spoiler ahead)...like... why time move differently on the island vs. the realm? , why Azenyah remembered the goddess when she should not?, the FMC from book 1-4 were the reborn version of the dragorai omega during Azenyah's time?
I enjoy ALSR because I am so invested in this series. I would have read ALSR regardless because I wanted to know how their story finished. But it is a lost potential. ALSR could have ended in high notes.
In order, I like book4/ book 3 the most, followed by book 1 and book 5/ book 2 the least.
The other thing that worths mentioning, this book was postponed for one week and the new pre-order link was available. Then on the day it supposed to launch, book 4 content was inside book 5 and many people were wondering why. Totally understandable that some readers vented this and gave the book a 1-star review.
The readers who do the pre-order or buy book the moment it becomes available are the author's honest followers. If I were an author, I would not want to lose them.

A wonderful finale to this gripping series! Khyros has been without his dragon for 700 years it has always been clear that his story would be epic, after suffering for so long. Azenyah is a mysterious character originally. Her past and true identity is gradually revealed as the story unfurls. She is a strong character and a good match for Khyros. Without giving too much away, I loved how this book tied up all the loose ends and gave hope for the future of the dragonai race. The world building is amazing and although I’m not generally keen on the fantasy genre, I loved this!

The final book in the Last Dragorai series that ties up all the loose ends from the series in one dark and brutal bow as Vattoro clan leader Khyros finally finds out the fate that has befallen his bonded dragon Skartheldryn and just what part Azenyah has played in his disappearance centuries before.
Out of all the couples in this series Khyros and Azenyah were probably the most evenly matched. Both were damaged by events of the past and held the other responsible for their pain. There were several instances of violence between them and the consent was most definitely of the dubious variety including one episode that included actual physical assault on the heroine by the hero which I felt was unnecessary. Perhaps this is why I didn’t feel there was any real chemistry between them. The overall plot of this book was also a bit of an anticlimax. After the build up throughout the series of the threat posed by the warring king and queen, how they were dealt with just seemed rushed and a total ‘blink and you miss it moment’. The story seemed more centred on Khyros and his repeated interrogations of Azenyah. Even that ending was a bit obvious.

I recommend reading the previous books in this series before this one as this is the finale for The Last Dragorai though I am hoping for a next-generation series

This episode is a bit heavier on the non/dub scenes
Khyros has finally found his dragon and nothing and no one will stand in his way of getting answers.
Makes the inquisition a bit more exciting when his prisoner turns out to be a challenge -
Mentally and physically
Azenyah has been held captive believing she was a prisoner of her mate's insanity. She has no intentions of giving him anything but empty air
I wanted to toss Khyros off the edge - with his magic bound - he infuriated me to no end
Azenyah was stubborn but I got it - she had been trapped for centuries what was old to the clan was new to her
Solid ending to the series

The last in this series! Sad but it was a great way to end things. I could kind of see where it was going from the beginning but the journey to get there was fun. Except for maybe the broken arm bit - like damn, calm down... It was great hearing more of the lore Ellis has created for this world and I hope more is to come in this universe! Maybe on the other side of the twin realms?
The one piece if feedback I have would be the off-camera scenes were a bit annoying. There has been so much build-up about the king and queen this entire series, and to have several pivotal moments in the fight against them/the king happen away from the pov characters was off-putting. Yes, we get to see the triumph in the end, but I wanted to see it all since at this point I was so invested in the overall plot of the story arch.

I had decently high expectations for this last book in the series, but it just didn't reach them. My biggest problem was with Azenyah. I can't tell you how much I hate it when a character or characters refuse to speak to the other party involved with an issue. Here, I could not, for the life of me, figure out why Azenyah wouldn't tell Khyros what she thought was going on. I didn't even need her to act rationally and speak to him like a decent person, she could have exploded on him about how she's suffered and it was all his fault and I wouldn't have cared. Because at least then things could have been sorted out and truths revealed that nothing was what either thought it was. But no. They don't even learn that until the very end. Then there was Azenyah's attitude. I get that she was angry at the world because she was trapped on that island and then learned of all she had lost. But she acted like such a raging bitch most of the time to people who had nothing to do with it and was judging the brothers unfairly harshly because she was so stuck in the past. Needless to say I didn't particularly like her.
As for Khyros, he let me down too. For someone who has suffered so much for 700 years because of the loss of his dragon, you would think that he would be nearly obsessed with getting back to the place where he now knows for sure his dragon is. But no. Instead of even wanting to go back for him right away, all Khyros can think about is having sex with Azenyah. FOR WEEKS!!! Really!? I don't get it at all. I mean, yeah, she's his mate even if he doesn't realize it, but come on! Dude. Your dragon is RIGHT THERE. His kink was fun though.
Really, most of this book was Khyros and Azenyah fighting or having sex. Aside from that, there was a completely random attack on the King that happened out of the blue and was over just as fast. They figure out just how the king and queen got the power they had and just as easily fix it, which takes that power away. The end was the most eventful. They summon the goddesses and finally get an explanation as to why they allowed things to happen they way they did. There's one last fight against the king, who is crazier than expected. And when they find Khyros's dragon they're in for the biggest surprise yet. Which led to an epilogue that I was happy with the ending given.
Despite the fact that there was more than one book in this series that frustrated me, it was a good series. Would I read it again? No. But it was worth the time.

Disappointing end to the series.
The conflict between Khyros, the MMC, and Azenyah, the FMC, was so contrived and idiotic that you are left wondering how these centuries old people can be so damn stupid. He thinks she trapped his dragon on an island for 700 years - completely overlooking the fact that she was also trapped there and has no apparent motive for doing so.
She thinks he trapped her on an island with his dragon for 700 years. Despite being Dragorai herself, and having lost her bonded dragon, she apparently doesn't question why he would ignore his dragon for 700 years and leave them both there. To be fair, apparently time moves differently on the island and she didn't know how much time had actually passed..... but still!
Speaking of the dragon, EVERYTHING written about Khyros in this series includes how devastated he's been without his dragon. Being Dragorai without a dragon is like missing a part of your soul or something. So when he finally discovers where his dragon is and gets to the island where he's been trapped, HE DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT! No, much better to have a brutal fight with a stranger then forcefully have sex with her before taking her prisoner and leaving the island WITHOUT ACTUALLY FINDING THE DRAGON. Then he pathetically 'interrogates' his prisoner (i.e. has non-stop sex with her) for information she refuses to give, meanwhile ignoring the fact that he now knows where his dragon is and DOING NOTHING to go and save him. FOR WEEKS!!!
I mean FFS!
Not much to say about the FMC other than clearly ALL Dragorai are assholes, not just the men.

Essentially all these books are the same. While I mostly enjoyed them - some more than others - I don't think the Alpha/Omega thing is really for me. Having the male characters act like abusive assholes and the women continuously ignore/forgive them because pheromones and primal instincts is not something I really enjoy. At least let there be some consequences for the men's actions, or have the women resist the lusty feelings and use their brains a bit more.

Honestly just really wanted to finish this series to the end.
Plot:
- H breaches the island that has been protected by magic free zone and h starts attacking him
- H thinks that she has done something to trap his dragon, and h thinks that H got his dragon to trap her
- H takes her back as prisoner as his dragon didn't come to him, and he and his clan will come back at another time
- h is kept in a prison cell, and H keeps fucking her
- h refuses to talk to him, and H keeps "torturing" her to figure out what she is doing to his dragon
- H breaks h's arm and then fucks her, and h decides that she finally had enough and escapes
- the terrain is unfamiliar, and eventually she spots some war where a human is wielding magic and fighting H's clan. She intervenes to save the dragons, and H catches up to her.
- h learns how she has been in that hole for 700 years, and H's clan is the only dragorai clan left. Everyone else has perished in the dragorai and human war. She mourns the loss of her family and people, and H consoles her.
- h has always known H is her mate, but she doesn't tell him, instead just saying that she has one
- h is actually a princess and was also a highly trained warrior
- She also wants to protect the dragons against the human king, so in return for them telling her what has happened in the 700 years, she tells them everything she knows
- they go to a temple in a no magic zone where she discovers the tomb of the 8th goddess. She seals it, and cuts off the human kings ability to wield magic.
- H learns that h is his mate, but she doesn't want him
- they go to the island to get H's dragon, and they meet with the goddesses who reveal that they're giving their race a second chance. They discover that the dragon has been with h's dragon's eggs.
- they get surrounded by humans led by the king to attack them, but they escape
- they create a safe place for the eggs
- they reconcile

I made the mistake of starting this book on Sunday night thinking i could just read a couple of chapters and then go to sleep... Before i realized it, it was 2 am and i just couldn't stop reading, not a great way to start the week but it was definitely worth it.
This is a dark omegaverse romance so if that's not your thing i would skip it. Technically, this book can be read as a standalone and, as the end of the saga, it does a great job at tying loose ends, but i wouldn't recommend it. The universe Zoey created is deep and rich in both history and the connection between each story, even when they portray different main characters, so each book adds special details to the story that would be lost if read separately.
Overall, this was a great read and, as with all of the books written by Zoey Ellis, a great way to escape reality for a while and lose track of everything else. I'd recommend you start it only if you have nothing pressing because it's very easy to forget the world around you once you start.

I can’t get out of my mind how this story could have been so much better if it had been set at the beginning of the dragorai-human war. Omg
What these two could have been like in the Dragorai era !!! Or even at the start of the war!! Because he hates royals and she is THE princess. Plus we would have gotten to see first hand how things were back in the day, the culture, the people, the clans… all the dragons!!
The plot could have been, 700 years ago, all dragorai clans have to unite to fight the common enemy (humans), and so the Vattoro clan is forced to work with the rest even thought they hate it. We could have had an enemies-to-allies-to-lovers, forced proximity; she’s a warrior and she can cast, so they definitely would have gone to a mission together. She knows he’s her mate but just like in this book, she hides it. Maybe she’s even betrothed to another!!! Or she gets engaged for an alliance and Khyros can’t explain why this makes him so furious and jealous! We could have even had a dramatic revelation about how he or the rest find out they’re mates!!

That being said, out of the 5 books, I think this is my favourite one. It was an alright conclusion to the series.
What these two could have been like in the Dragorai era !!! Or even at the start of the war!! Because he hates royals and she is THE princess. Plus we would have gotten to see first hand how things were back in the day, the culture, the people, the clans… all the dragons!!
The plot could have been, 700 years ago, all dragorai clans have to unite to fight the common enemy (humans), and so the Vattoro clan is forced to work with the rest even thought they hate it. And here we have, finally, the leader of their clan. He is it, the man and the dragon. Except...the man is missing a vital piece of himself. And who has it? Of course. Mates are vital but don't always see eye to eye and she is in his path, often blocking it. This is the conclusion of the five part Dragon clan brothers series. The writing is wonderful and the steam! Expect Zoey to DELIVER and enjoy the way they get together. The chemistry is so good as is this clash of wills.
She is holding him back from something that he needs. But he also finds that he needs her.
I can't imagine being apart of something that was bonded to you. It's literally like losing part of yourself. Then encountering her? He had someone that matched his hard edges because this woman brought it! They are both so fierce! This was the right way to end this series (and Zoey please no more harems, lol) this gal is such a romantic so please. Their love was in the making and awesome. I thought that this was a creative and of course, steamy series. And let me just mention, these covers I've been seeing...love 'em.

What a finale!
It was hard to believe that The Last Dragorai series could get any better after A Lair So Fateful but Zoey Ellis sure delivered a brilliant finale.
After getting familiar with Khyros over the course of five books, it is now his time to find his mate. And was I happy it isn‘t the queen but a fierce, strong woman who had endured similar pain. She stands up to Khyros and the clan every chance she can get, defending her own opinion and beliefs. I loved that she does not fight her connection with Khyros, and always stays true to herself.
Once again, I have to say how completely amazed I am by Zoey Ellis‘s story building. She puts so much love and detail into the world of the dragorai, and it all falls into place in this final book of the series. A Lair So Royal starts with action and carnal attraction in chapter 2, and it does not disappoint throughout the book. I could not put it down and finished it in less than a day. The only downside is that the series ends here. I would have loved to continue reading!
